Unfortunately a large challenge for creating board game content is that magic timer on video length. Anything over a certain time takes a drastic cut in views. I used to be a lot more verbose with examples but sadly the criticism outweighed any other comments so I cut things down a bit. I do appreciate the views and comments, thanks for watching!

It came with Cyberlink ultra I think version 2 from 2014. It's one of the tracks you get drm free when you buy the full version. I no longer use Cyberlink and use Adobe but I still keep the music around. Thanks for watching!
Game looks fun and I can't wait to get it to the table, but man the character balance seems terrible. You've got the female bruiser and the female mystic who both have abilities that, essentially, allow you to trade 1 essence for 1 health (For the bruiser it's gain 1 health instead of 1 essence when destroying a monster so it works this way as an opportunity cost). But every character can, in a way, already do this - by preventing 1 damage by spending 1 essence. Then you've got the male mystic who can instantly destroy monsters by pushing them over a pit. Seems way more useful. Not that a pit will always be available, but it's such a game changer when one is. This video, along with reading the manual, has been really helpful. Thank you. I watched your Dawn of the Zeds video to learn that game, and it was super helpful there as well.
I have greatly enjoyed the variety the different combinations can create. I think there is enough variety in the way enemies spawn on different lay outs that it leads to a positive in the ariety versus a negative. Thanks for watching!

Sorry for the off topic focus but this is the most current area to reach you in " real time"....so.....you are, IMHO the best and most completely detailed reviewer in the Boardgame world Kingdom so could you please, now that shipments are in full swing, do a tutorial, review and playthrough of "The Thing the Board Game" by Pendragon......the game is the best so far and the Components are fabulous......but they were "out to lunch" when they did the rule book and it's in bad need of a video review and playthrough......please...🙏🏻
I checked all the known retail spaces and cannot locate it. If you contact the publisher and if they are willing to sell me a copy I would be willing to do it!

Not sure a unit on a spawn space blocks spawning, page 24 of rule book “if map space is occupied……. The explorer chooses nearest unoccupied and passable space”. Unless that only refers to the rare occasions explorers can spawn monsters on their turn. This probably unlikely as otherwise in a three + player you could block all a tile’s spawn spaces, though as a catch your breath tactic that would be great😃
Very nice and thorough; but you should slow down just a tick in your speech, as it can sometimes be a little hard to catch everything and you slur some words together a little.
One little caveat: in 57:20 you say that you have a max of 4 monsters total on the board, so the queue will never have more than 4 monsters. That's not right. There is no spawn if you fail the roll and there are 4 or more monsters on the explorer's map tile, but you can have more than 4 monsters on the queue and on the tile if monsters from another tile come to the one you are in.

The first bullet point says: "If there are 4 or more monsters on the explorer’s map tile (spawn limit), increase the monster threat by 1, and skip further steps". So, if you have two explorers in two different map tiles, you can have four monster in each map tile. And if one of those explorers move to the other map tile, all the monster will follow the explorer, so you can have (much) more than four monsters in a single map tile. The limit is only in spawning them in the map tile where the explorer making the roll is.

BTW: This is the best video about this game I found in years. I backed the original 1st ed. (and the 2nd and the exp for the 3rd) back in the day and... Wow! What a struggle to put it on the table! Every game I had to have the rulebook besides the board and look at it for everything I wanted to do. This game has one of the toughest learning curves I know.

Something I'm not sure about ; monsters and diagonals.. does that mean they won't attack unless there orthogonal, also in your example the deep one had one stamina left , why didn't it spend it to move one space closer ? Thank you for great work there. This game is fantastic but I'm still learning new things about the rules..:)
Let me know if this helps: Monsters will strive to get into their max range and no closer. So a range 3 creature will get with in 3 squares and stop moving If a monster to get into range has a choice of being diagonal or orthogonal it will choose orthogonal but if it can't get orthogonal without sacrificing an attack, it will get diagonal to attack (they will do anything to attack). A monster will strive to get as many attacks in as possible so if it needs to move it will but if it could get multiple attacks it will do so before moving. So prioritize maximum attacks Then max range Then getting orthogonal The deep one was a range 2 attacker so it doesn't get closer it stays at max range

Game looks fun and I can't wait to get it to the table, but man the character balance seems terrible.
