This was fun watching live, really close at the end, I don't think you set out with any high expectations either! Goes to show most weapons are viable if it fits your play style, might not be as high of damage as another, but if you're enjoying it don't let anyone talk you out of a class/weapon 🙂
This made me rethink the Power Fist on the assault class. I generally run the Power Fist on the Bulwark so I can use the shield to stop ranged attacks. This is nice, the mobility of the Jet Pack adds another element to the build. I like it, good work Mr. Shifter
power fist is pretty strong in pvp though, charge attack come out way faster than thunder hammer and still doing almost one shot damage. Don't know why people think power fist suck.
People's expectations of close combat: Charged up massive AoE attacks for main damage. Reality: Parrying to Gun Strikes plus Ground Pound for damage and survival, Cannon Punch to Gun Strike for a survival and a bit of damage. Parrying *_IS_* the close combat in this game.
I was literally discussing this yesterday. I totally agree. You spend most of the time parrying and gunstriking and whilst that's fun for a while, the balance between this and what you're described feels off!

I did the opposite, I played nothing but PvP til recently. But my assault is lvl 21. It was funny being a low level all dripped out
