    There's a couple important bits of information I think are worth mentioning.
    Kawasaki is calling it the Ninja 7 because its power is roughly equivalent to the Ninja 650. So they're not claiming "liter bike power", but it's still a quick bike. It is a little heavy, but not that bad. I figure it'll either be the same, or a scoche slower than a Ninja 650 in a straight line. No idea how they'll compare in the corners, though.
    They're also officially claiming 76 mpg, but it could potentially hit 80-90 mpg if you factor in the electric-only range, which is honestly really impressive, imo.
    Also, the transmission is pretty genius in that it allows for switching in and out of battery-only mode on the fly, even at speed. It also has automatic or manual shifting. And to anyone who doesn't like the sound of that, remember that Honda developed the Hondamatic over half a century ago, and it's been an enormous success. Honda have also been using and refining DCTs in bikes for several years, to a generally warm reception.
    I think this bike is aimed a certain kind of rider that doesn't typically get a lot of direct attention, and it'll be interesting to see where the segment goes after this.

      And what, exactly, is that certain type of rider supposed to be? Most bikes in this class already get 50mpg, and you can always get a small-displacement bike for 70-80mpg.

      @johnouyoung1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's way too heavy and barely gets any better MPG than the Ninja 500 which has the same engine. First gen hybrid tech would not be worth the risks either.
      Save $7000, buy a Ninja 500.

    I’ve ridden one. Set one up. I think all ninjas are horrible to ride. But for those who can ride them. It’s overall an amazing bike. Fast. E boost is like a shot of nitrous, I was surprised. And the ability to ride it in the silent electric mode or with the engine on is amazing. The coolest thing is, say you need to ride into your apartment complex late at night and don’t want to wake nobody up cause the engine is loud. Enter electric mode with a button push and drive in almost silent mid ride.

    Hybrid motorcycles work if the EV portion is giving it that extra oomph that thrill seekers are looking for. But MPG should hardly be a big consideration when riding a motorbike, as they are more efficient than cars anyhow.

    I have been waiting so long for this, and I will be purchasing this after the second batch rolls out in the Great ole U.S.A.

    It got me intrigued, BUT here is the problem: I have a Honda NC750X that is as fuel efficient, has great torque, is less tech savvy but is also much, MUCH cheaper.
    Therefore I can say I like the fact Kawasaki decided to introduce this model and I hope it will be just the first one of many.

    Maybe help as a range extender.

    The formula of a hybrid surely belongs too a regular universal type of machine rather than a sports bike. That's considering the weight factor and why bother view of this machine. Can't really see the potential buyers. Surely a look what we can do exercise from Kawasaki engineering.

    • @TheAnnoyingBoss
      @TheAnnoyingBoss 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A standard motorcycle would benefit more from a hybrid indeed. I think kawasaki did a sports bike as the first because the tech is still in the youth kinda so i mea. A sportsbike you can throw a plastic piece amd cover up tbat part you havent figured out how to make look good to the eyes 😂 in a standard motorcycle there is almost no paneling so the components have to look good and be presentible. Less room for error and tbh this is like the first hybrid motorcycle weve reslly seen so its impressive tbh. This is better thsn all electric with swappable batteries. What am i going to do carry them in my backpack in the middle of knowwhere? Maybe in 2765 when a nuclear reactor fits in thensizd of a AA battery and everywhere turned into a radioactive wasteland because people threw the batteries away

      @@bavarianbanshee nc750x gets average 65 mpg and up to 80mpg . I think the vstrom 650 is similar.
      R7's are around 55-60 mpg from memory. Royal Enfield 350s are up around 90.
      The 7 hybrids only making 58 HP and 68 HP with full E boost. At 227kgs it's not as heavy as expected unless that's dry weight! Where a cb450 was 180kgs dry which would put it around 2-210 wet which doesn't leave that much between them.
      The price tag on these are huge , they sound like they're going to be slow and the fuel economy isn't that much greater.
      The r7 is 75hp so a mix of commuter and a touch of sport.
      I honestly think these will only be bought by the soy latte , man bun wanker crowds. Could be wrong though. At the end of the day I also don't care about gas mileage so I'm not the one to comment on it.
      I still ride something with quad carbs and don't even own any EFI bikes anymore . Tell you what though , those flat slides are much more economical than any car I own haha.
