I am very very blessed by my parents genes in the skin on my face department.... of course, I got my mom's side TERRIBLE joints and someone's terrible hair (think maybe my Dad's side) so that evens everything out, lol. I just use drug store products and never do face masks or anything fancy. I honestly wonder if NOT focusing so much on my skin with peels, face masks, treatments, etc has actually helped it more? I am starting to notice changes though as I approach 50 (just a few short months away) and am starting to take my face skin more seriously. I am looking into using different makeup as the stuff I current use isn't working as well anymore and starting to look really cakey... I guess those fine lines are no joke!

Love this! So very helpful! I find it almost unbearable to wear a mono top wig in the hot summertime. I wore Amore for four years (with the double mono) and I couldn't go outdoors without sweating horribly. I suppose my scalp couldn't breathe very well. I still love them, but I refuse to wear them in hot weather again. These would be ideal! Thank you, Denise! ❤️ 😘

I love those headbands you are wearing. They are perfect for a headband wig. I am going to get some. I've recently started wearing pixie wigs. They are cute, easy, and cooler. I also got a few cheaper ones for yard work and mowing etc. They are great for summer!
I don't find it hot AT ALL.... and I get hot easily. It is actually one of my favorite ways to wear a wig on a hot day. Let me know if you try it and what you think! PS: I think the wig matters as well... if it is SUPER high density or has a lot of permatease, that will be hotter than a lower density wig with no permatease.

I took a break from them, but my hair loss has only gotten worse so I just recently starting wearing one again. I am so glad to know that I can still go swimming and kayaking etc without worrying about my thin hair showing or what I was going to do to hide it. Thank you for all the great tips. For amusement parks and swimming, you can not beat double sided blue tape in my opinion. Nothing is taking off that wig except for adhesive remover. For gardening I put a headband like you have over any old wig. I bought a lot you suggested on Amazon from last year.
I ordered an ebay 3/4 wig, it came today, and I just tried this! Didn't quite work but I am not done trying yet. Yours look better. Mine seems bulky up top and I don't know how to make a messy bun LOL - more youtube videos to watch on that topic. Thanks!
Please keep trying.... and remember.... they will settle over time. Mine looks awesome but I have been wearing her for almost (or over) 2 years and that does make a difference. It took me A LONG TIME to get her exactly how I want her, but now that I have I NEVER take her down, lol. I have newer ones or more bulky ones that I still struggle with... you can always thin them some. The risk is low because you will just be putting them up anyway. Hugs and don't give up!

Thank you for this video. I have been wearing wigs for over ten years and never thought about the headband wigs. In fact, I did not know they exist. I did make my own without knowing about them. I have two human hair wigs- both beautiful European hair- but both have messed up hairlines because I screwed up when cutting the bangs. They are unwearable but I purchased wide headbands and wear them that way. The only problem I have is that I see the wig hairline under the headband so I need a wide headband similar to what you have and then layer the headband. I bought "bangs" to put underneath the headband to make it look more realistic but they were a pain and not a good look. Thanks for all your Tuesday tip videos.

You are so creative! I have a couple of full wigs that I just can't get used to (bulk, hairline, etc.) that are long and would work in an updo with a headband. I've been using a wrap for my uber fine bio hair but am getting sick of the look. I think this is the perfect blend of form and function-covering that iffy hairline and looking great for the upcoming warm months. Now if I can figure out how to actually do the hair for the updo, I think I'll be on to something. Hopefully it'll work when using a regular not 3/4 wig, yes? Thank you for posting!
It took me quite awhile to get the messy bun situated in a way I liked, so don't give up! I'm talking months.... but once I did, that sucker has stayed in place great!

I had a 3/4 wig a long time ago and loved it. I like them better for a headband wig compared to using a full wig, I feel they are less bulky. Loved this video

Good morning Denise 😀. I had a look at the sites for these wigs, both 3/4 and headband wigs, they either didn’t have any at all, or they were yaki hair def for women if colour. I’m blonde caucasian ☺️. Very interesting video, I bought one from PY but they cancelled it on me, so it never arrived. It would be great for our long hot summers.
I'm going to do a go shopping with me sometime and go on Ebay and show people how I find my deals and then do an unboxing to see what I end up getting.... I think that would be fun!
@@heywigsister id LOVE that, it would be very helpful. Maybe include how to change countries in your eBay account, I only found that out about 6 months into my journey. Eg US to Aus. And talk about having a US based shipping address if they don’t ship to your country. My lovely friend helps me, she keeps my stuff in a box until there is enough to post over to me, but there are companies who do it as well. I found them pricey. Did you know that some wig companies won’t ship to my address in the US if my account with them is overseas - eg Australian. They want me to pay their exorbitant internal shipping fees which start at nearly double the price of my first wig!! Lol actually, this could probably be a whole new post on its own ... international buyers.

I bought a couple Toni Brattin short style wigs but am not that thrilled with the color on me, so one of these would be a good alternative.
That is brilliant, I can't find any 3/4 wigs on eBay, just full wigs and I have no idea if they have those combs, this is all new to me but I think I would love to have one for Sumer.

It will depend on how bulky the top of it is.... I would think it would add a lot of bulk under the cap. There are hat wigs out there that are made for wearing under hats... here is an example: www.namebrandwigs.com/products/jon-renau-wigs-hat-magic-10-385?_pos=11&_sid=0b280dc86&_ss=r I think Gabor also makes one, and if you can afford it Milano makes a human hair one and they have lots of versions (just go to the Milano website).
I have to say, I am a bit shocked that anyone can afford more than 2 or 3 wigs. I guess I have lived on the poverty-line too long. I am pretty stressed right now as I went ahead and spent nearly $2,000.00 on three wigs that I have not even got yet... and didn't have the money for... Maybe I should have just bought a couple of very cheap headband wigs. I did previously buy two Amazon cheap wigs but they were so huge on my 2.5 inch head size that I could not even think of wearing them.
Hi Denise - I am new to your videos and new to wig wearing and your videos have been a blessing to find. They actually have me excited for my options instead of scared that people will notice I'm wearing a wig .. I have the alopecia loss so I have some very thinning BioHair. I bought a 3 quarter wig for the messy pony but found that my face is not right for showing all forehead. Any tips on how to maybe pull some hairs out to the front and cut them for a side/full bang? I'm not really experienced with cutting in bangs for a fringe (that is a skill I plan to practice so that I will be able to answer questions like this one some day 😍) but I do know that sometimes headband wigs come with velcro bangs so you can wear them with or without bangs. I tried searching for one quick but was having trouble finding anything right, but I have owned 2 halo wigs that had detachable bangs so I know they exist. I know you can also just buy bang pieces, although I'm not sure how easy it would be to match color with the 3/4 wig. Here is one from Amazon: amzn.to/3AXBUN3 . Good luck!!
You are feeling cooler because there isn't anything on the back of your neck. I feel that way. I really have hardly any top and crown hair and now I had another MOH's surgery at the crown so I could get still another baldy spot. Yikes. What would be a good fill in a the top? If the hair is not exactly matched, won't it look like I plopped something on top? Can I get a wiglet made of my own hair somehow like off the back? Help?!!! Thanks for a great youtube video. Hmmmm... toppers are a great solution for many and can look very realistic. I don't have much experience with them because they didn't work for me, but I see tons of women post about them on Instagram and they look seemless. If you bought a human hair one then it will blend better with your hair, but some do the synthetic ones just fine. Good luck, I hope you find something that works ❤!

Thank you for this video. I have been wearing wigs for over ten years and never thought about the headband wigs. In fact, I did not know they exist. I did make my own without knowing about them. I have two human hair wigs- both beautiful European hair- but both have messed up hairlines because I screwed up when cutting the bangs. They are unwearable but I purchased wide headbands and wear them that way. The only problem I have is that I see the wig hairline under the headband so I need a wide headband similar to what you have and then layer the headband. I bought "bangs" to put underneath the headband to make it look more realistic but they were a pain and not a good look. Thanks for all your Tuesday tip videos.

You are so creative! I have a couple of full wigs that I just can't get used to (bulk, hairline, etc.) that are long and would work in an updo with a headband. I've been using a wrap for my uber fine bio hair but am getting sick of the look. I think this is the perfect blend of form and function-covering that iffy hairline and looking great for the upcoming warm months. Now if I can figure out how to actually do the hair for the updo, I think I'll be on to something. Hopefully it'll work when using a regular not 3/4 wig, yes? Thank you for posting!
It took me quite awhile to get the messy bun situated in a way I liked, so don't give up! I'm talking months.... but once I did, that sucker has stayed in place great!

I had a 3/4 wig a long time ago and loved it. I like them better for a headband wig compared to using a full wig, I feel they are less bulky.

Good morning Denise 😀. I had a look at the sites for these wigs, both 3/4 and headband wigs, they either didn’t have any at all, or they were yaki hair def for women if colour. I’m blonde caucasian ☺️. Very interesting video, I bought one from PY but they cancelled it on me, so it never arrived. It would be great for our long hot summers.
I'm going to do a go shopping with me sometime and go on Ebay and show people how I find my deals and then do an unboxing to see what I end up getting.... I think that would be fun!
@@heywigsister id LOVE that, it would be very helpful. Maybe include how to change countries in your eBay account, I only found that out about 6 months into my journey. Eg US to Aus. And talk about having a US based shipping address if they don’t ship to your country. My lovely friend helps me, she keeps my stuff in a box until there is enough to post over to me, but there are companies who do it as well. I found them pricey. Did you know that some wig companies won’t ship to my address in the US if my account with them is overseas - eg Australian. They want me to pay their exorbitant internal shipping fees which start at nearly double the price of my first wig!! Lol actually, this could probably be a whole new post on its own ... international buyers.

It will depend on how bulky the top of it is.... I would think it would add a lot of bulk under the cap. There are hat wigs out there that are made for wearing under hats... here is an example: www.namebrandwigs.com/products/jon-renau-wigs-hat-magic-10-385?_pos=11&_sid=0b280dc86&_ss=r I think Gabor also makes one, and if you can afford it Milano makes a human hair one and they have lots of versions (just go to the Milano website).
I have to say, I am a bit shocked that anyone can afford more than 2 or 3 wigs. I guess I have lived on the poverty-line too long. I am pretty stressed right now as I went ahead and spent nearly $2,000.00 on three wigs that I have not even got yet... and didn't have the money for... Maybe I should have just bought a couple of very cheap headband wigs. I did previously buy two Amazon cheap wigs but they were so huge on my 2.5 inch head size that I could not even think of wearing them.

Do you ever use hot air curler or brush and hair dryer on a non heat resistant wig to redirect the fibers without harm?
Yes!! I have used a hot air brush for this... I just make sure to spritz with a little water first.

Hi Denise - I am new to your videos and new to wig wearing and your videos have been a blessing to find. They actually have me excited for my options instead of scared that people will notice I'm wearing a wig .. I have the alopecia loss so I have some very thinning BioHair. I bought a 3 quarter wig for the messy pony but found that my face is not right for showing all forehead. Any tips on how to maybe pull some hairs out to the front and cut them for a side/full bang? I'm not really experienced with cutting in bangs for a fringe (that is a skill I plan to practice so that I will be able to answer questions like this one some day 😍) but I do know that sometimes headband wigs come with velcro bangs so you can wear them with or without bangs. I tried searching for one quick but was having trouble finding anything right, but I have owned 2 halo wigs that had detachable bangs so I know they exist. I know you can also just buy bang pieces, although I'm not sure how easy it would be to match color with the 3/4 wig. Here is one from Amazon: amzn.to/3AXBUN3 . Good luck!!
You are feeling cooler because there isn't anything on the back of your neck. I feel that way. I really have hardly any top and crown hair and now I had another MOH's surgery at the crown so I could get still another baldy spot. Yikes. What would be a good fill in a the top? Hmmmm... toppers are a great solution for many and can look very realistic. I don't have much experience with them because they didn't work for me, but I see tons of women post about them on Instagram and they look seemless. If you bought a human hair one then it will blend better with your hair, but some do the synthetic ones just fine. Good luck, I hope you find something that works ❤!
I would think the weight of the messy bun but would pull the wig back even with the wig grip. Does it?
Not at all.... it is extremely secure and doesn't move. I've done A LOT of physical activity with these on and they don't budge even slightly.
I recently just bought a headband wig already built into the wig. Are all headband wigs able to put up into a pony??

It's because I honestly can't stand the way that looks on me. I've seen people do that and I've tried it but I just don't like it on me.
