my thoughts to you Jay: is that you've figured out a format you like and did it for many days in a row. but you realised "this is not all there is to my youtube journey". my prediction is you will still make videos like this, they just wont be daily. you're great at talking to the camera, and I can confidently say you'll keep learning and having realisation so you will naturally film yourself expressing your thoughts and my guess is you'll post some of them.
Even though I haven't been commenting as much iv'e still been watching ur videos daily and I appreciate all the knowledge and have been using it... the insight u give for life and in general is so valuable. Thanks Mr Alto
Slowly but surely...been a good run. Experimenting on each video we create, and definitely keeps it more fun and creatively challenging. Today's video is groundhog day style...well see what comes of it. Won't see ya tomorrow, but will be around when ya get back.😎🤙
Very relatable insight! At times when I've went super hard on putting out videos, I did notice their value being watered down. Like you said, I was creating content for content's sake. I suppose there's a balance to be found here. Between consuming and creating. Between giving advice, and actually living life, so you have advice to give in the first place (lol). Thanks for this video Jay, made me feel like I'm not alone.
great points you have made, what a great journey and understanding of the creator journey - you are someone who is going to return with a vengeance and i look forward to seeing you again.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💯💯💯💯💯💯
wow, this is actually quite emotional. You really did become an essential part of my evening routine. I will definitely miss these daily journals, but am looking forward to what's next
Wow those 44 days went by quick! I watched the first episode and have opened TH-cam on most days hoping to see a new upload from you. I never missed an episode and many times I found that we had been pondering similar things at the same time which really helped me. Not many people are knowledgable/interested in the deeper parts of content creation and to have someone else in the same boat to bring new ideas to my attention has been a blessing. I've personally done 365 and 580 days short-form series. It felt amazing to wake up every day not knowing an idea, getting creative, getting the sets and the characters together, filming, editing, and uploading before that clock struck 12 again and again and again. It was an exercise that forced me to come up with something new and practice each and every skill along the process. Having gone through it, sure it was super hard at times but I believe it was necessary for me to do in order to become the creator I am today. I am putting all this experience and knowledge to the test and really pursuing long-form in a way I had never been capable of doing since I started in 2011. The 10,000 hours people talk about really does make a MASSIVE difference. Can't wait to see what you create next! I'll be following the journey!
Thanks for all the knowledge you have shared Jay, will truly miss these but understand the struggles with what you were doing (content over learning). We will miss these daily videos, just glad you are focusing on the true meaning of content, sharing not just forcing!
Nicely done Jay. I think I watched about 75% of your dailys. I think the main thing I took from it was getting a chance to understand you much more. And that was a cool insight, one that took me from a casual viewer of yours to one who is much more invested in what's to come. Inspiring.
Loved your daily videos! You are fantastic at summarazing & keeping the viewer engaged. Keep being creative & being a visionary. See you soon virtual friend!
Goals have an objective purpose. Experiments have an objective. Would you say you found your antihypoethesis? I cannot wait to see your next experiment. I think this one shared a lot about the current trajectory of entertainment, our motivations, and our will to power. You sir, are strong. This realization often doesn't come to people after 45 days too ... if only we thought of our actions and goals more like experiments!! Define, measure, and assess. ✨
Great video series bro, joined in during the last week and have enjoyed the daily videos. You've already got many of the qualities of a top tier speaker, can't wait to see where you go from here.
damn, the daily vids had pretty much become a part of my routine, solid source of inspiration and motivation haha! I think you should reformat into building shotform distribution first and use it as top of the funnel! Regardless, waiting eagerly for more :)
I hear you brother. Did exactly the same. Hit the same wall of manufactured feeling videos. Stoped making videos. That was 9 months ago 😂 Good luck with your process 🙏🏼💪🏼
Experiments are awesome! Thanks for sharing the insights you gained from this one. TH-cam seems like an incredible place to experiment within. I’m excited to see how you pivot and what framework you give yourself to work with next. Knowing when to quit and what to aspects to quit shows a healthy amount of self-awareness. Emphasizing quality over quantity seems like the right move for you right now. Quit before you “jump the shark” as an older generation (like mine) might be thinking to themselves... Good luck with the next one!
I did a 100 day case study on my channel, and man by the end I was happy it was over, but then I missed it the next day... but I needed a break. And I like what you said and it's true, "your just making content for contents sake..." but then again that is the "job" at some point if you're a content creator... right? LOL great series you put together, look forward to the next upload.
I also posted daily & quit after 41 days 😅 my reasons are a bit different tho. I shouldn’t have tried to revive my channel that i grew years ago as a teen with funny vids. I left for 6/7 years & came back like youtube would just forgive me lol. So I’ll be posting on a new channel almost daily/minimum once a week
I did a similar experiment on my channel, but just for 7 days. It was good but insanely difficult to sustain! I watched your daily videos for the better part of a month now, always learning something. Can't wait to see what you come up next!
My suggestion will be to have a goal, not related to TH-cam, from your personal life that is close to your heart and follow that passion and while doing that document your journey.
Hi Jay. You say it didn't work, but do you mean in terms of views and new subs? Because i think it did work from a viewer's perspective. I have watched ,I think, 100% of these daily videos. You are extremely mature and sage for your 28/29 yoa.( I think kids in school should have you as their coach). Keep up the good work. And by the way, it is so refreshing to hear someone speak in good 'English' without putting the f word everywhere, so whatever you come up with next, don't change your way of presenting yourself.
I’ve watched most of your daily uploads. For me, each one kind of felt the same, like you were trying to work out a way to do something, but never sharing what you were actually working on. Lots of talk about growing fans, making something big and influential, grand plans, but no mention of what you were actually working on. You always seemed unsure of what you’re working towards. Not sure how long people can hear about your projects and plans without seeing anything tangible.
"My priority has always been to find something I truly want to make, that people want to watch" Can you make a video about this? It's been impossible for me to find that. How do I know what videos do I really enjoy producing? Should I try making different videos/formats and try different niches?
My priority has always been to find something I truly want to make, that people want to watch. I just constantly change how I go about it as I learn more.
@@thejayalto Hey Jay, I’ve been a long-time admirer of your work on Twitter, especially your insightful analyses on thumbnails, titles, and human behavior. Your content there was incredibly valuable, and it taught me a lot even before you posted your first video on this channel. However, I’ve noticed that your videos seem to focus more on philosophical aspects, which, while interesting, don't always offer the practical advice that I-and I believe others-were hoping for. I think many of us were drawn to your content because we wanted actionable tips on how to improve our videos and grow our channels. While the philosophical discussions are thought-provoking, I often find myself feeling like something is missing by the end of the video. I’d love to see more of the practical, hands-on advice that made your Twitter content so compelling. Thank you for all the work you put into this, and I hope this feedback is helpful in some way.
I have watched most of them .. I was really curious how daily uploads affected your channel . views, subs .. did you think it helped ? Probably not worth the effort I guess why your are done
Overall, weekly views were up (but less unique viewers). Growth stayed pretty consistent. Engagement was definitely up. Massive help for true fans, but slow strategy for growing new ones.
@@thejayalto in all seriousness though, i looked forward to your daily uploads and they were super helpful, and i would've commented everyday but in my head, i would leave every video and just think about things. I tried uploading daily, f me mate, it's near impossible and i couldn't believe how good your videos were on a daily basis. I legit watched each one of those videos at least twice. This experiment simply in terms of analytics is really valuable for you moving forward. I'm glad you're doing what feels right and not just i said so so i have to do it now. I'll be here whenever you upload next time! i'm one of these true fans you're always on about. Love you jay!
I got emotionally invested in this upload daily arc, I was expecting this video at some point
All great things must come to an end

Always a pleasure to hear your insightful thoughts in this quick, very digestible format

Cool, this has been a great experiment! I definitely became a true fan over the last few weeks, and I look forward to what's next!
I have enjoyed the ride. Learn what you can from experiments and then pivot when it makes sense.

All you videos get about 1000 views, look like you have 1000 fans. I've got like 17 so watch out fella, I'm coming fer ya
will miss your daily videos 🙄
Thank you for watching!
=)
Oh thank goodness! As a viewer with my own life to live all these daily videos were too many to keep up with.
