    Another technological masterpiece of informative automotive lesson on how to do stuff on a Shitroen C1 👍 however, i need to take issue with an item (or lack thereof) within this said video.........there seemed to be a lack of the good ole Northwest greeting of "hiya" at the beginning of videography.....it has displeased me as you have used that greeting upon many a time afore........so please ensure that this is rectified for future output! Thank you from a fellow Northwestonian 👍

      I must concur with Mr Flaps. The omission of said "hiya" was noted and is indeed not looked upon favourably, even by a mere Midlothian such as myself. Omissions of this type may force me to reconsider my subscription of this otherwise exemplary channel of usel ..... ful information.
      Disgruntled of Nottingham.

      🤣👌 I’ll be sure to rectify that for the next instalment. I’ve got plenty of stuff lined up, but I’m only managing to find time to do bits and bobs like this at the moment which is disappointing 😞
      P.s. Flaps, look out in next weeks video. Something in it specially for you 😎

    This is amazing, I have been poorly for the last x amount of weeks, I changed the alternator on my suzuki and left the old battery on that's fucked and it screams its tits off from a cold start with the correct tension on the belt trying to charge the knackered battery so I've put the battery on a trickle charge for 24 hours the job seems to be sorted.... For now..... I will be catching up on your previous videos so expect a few comments 👍

    I think my alternator is slowly starting to go, the car used to charge at 14.5-14.7v, it's now hovering around 14-14.2v (it's constantly measured using a heads-up OBD2 display with a voltage readout). The battery is fine, it settles at around 12.6v and has a cranking vdrop to 11v

      I have an OBD HUD too, but mine is set to measure temperature instead of the potential difference. Came in useful when my radiator failed a couple of months ago 😅

      @@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I've got mine set to measure intake temperature and coolant temperature. I also think my thermostatic valve is getting old because of it too xD... It used to hold a constant 84c now it seems to heat up by 2-3c on climbs and cool by 4-5c on descents, I guess it's not something to worry about yet just something to keep an eye on. I'm also tempted to get some piping for a warm intake during the winter months (basically a pipe routed to breath air from around the exhaust manifold). My Aygo is setup and driven in a way to maximize fuel economy xD (my tanks range from 68-78mpg).

      @@micheals1992 sounds like a better one than mine. If you’re set up for fuel economy then getting upto working temperature faster will help, but cold dense air burns better so might not work well unless you can bypass it once the engine is up to temp? I changed my thermostat and tbh it’s not as good as the old one. It sits at 80 but drops as low as about 76 when it gets up to speed then creeps back up to 80. The old one used to sit at 86 constantly unless stationary, and got up to temperature quicker too. Basically the new one seems slightly colder and slow to react.

      @@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I'm not sure if it's 100% right but warm air should let you have reduced pumping losses at lower power levels as the throttle requires to be open wider for the same power output (which also means a higher compression pressure for the same amount of air). I think the point that breaks the theory is that if the air becomes too hot the engine will richen the mixture to cool combustion temperature and reduce NOx emissions, plus there's a chance higher combustion chamber temperatures could increase the energy losses into the cooling system. Although I can't imagine a huge amount of energy would be absorbed in the short time a power stroke takes to complete

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@micheals1992 never looked at it that way before. You’ll possibly a reduced energy loss as it’s not having to suck at a on a restricted air flow through a smaller throttle opening, but it is also compressing more air which will I think will actually use that energy and likely more so, but I dunno maybe not? If you disconnect the plugs so it doesn’t fire, then try to turn an engine over with the throttle closed vs the throttle open and measure the average current the starter takes to crank over a duration (providing it turns at the same rpm both times), I think it will use less power with the throttle closed but I might be wrong, and now you’ve got me thinking 🤔
