Focalors has intrigued me for a very long time, I love ironic characters and her being a “bratty” and “arrogant” god of Justice is just that. I can't wait to meet her and learn about her lore!
Same!! I'm very glad we're meeting her super early on. The more time with the archons the better, I say!!
And the fact that she has double personality just peaked my interest
And I can't wait for her to grow as character!
Her dilemma with the Idemnitium gaining conciousness altering her rules of justice and the people's belief around her, only for them to turn against her ideals and possibly divine punishment from the gods.
Plus her position as a new Hydro Archon not aligned with the old Hydro Archon's goal of love in justice instead of invoking judgment in justice that Focalor stands by and has to change, similar to Ei and Makoto's own right and wrong ideal of eternity is what peaks my interest for her possible growth as a character.
i hav about 230 pulls saved up for Focalors and her weapon (hopefully)
For me, it's the opposite. I'm starting to feel like I am too mentally challenged to continue this game.
In fact everything about Sumeru and Nahida made me so frustrated with how dumb they made me feel with the many symbolisms and roundabout approaches, to the point that I played while crying. And now we have an Archon that apparently won't speak with clear wording and plays around with a confirmed overly complicated "justice system".
At this rate Genshin might drive me into depression or maybe something worse.
Furina/Focalors has the chance to be the best written character in the game yet. I hope the devs don't fvck this up. I really like her design so far compared to Nahida. Her hair looks like a jellyfish.
IF that structure hovering nearby Fontaine is indeed Celestia coupled with that doomsday prophecy circulating around, if I were Furina I'd be feeling anxious.

I’ve wondered if Focalors is the rightful Archon of Fontaine. When the prior Archon fell in the Girdle of the Sands, Rukkhadevata bound her consciousness to the Harvisptokhm; is the Lord of Amrita actually gone...? Was Focalors granted the position of Archon or did she simply assume power. …am I reading too much into this?

The only way I can imagine a trial in Fountaine is the criminals being forced to participate in a play that's about their crime, rewritten and over exaggarated to make them look like a villain or innocent. Focalors will judge the character, not the person playing it, seeing the play as the truth, while its the work of writers entrusted by her to reconstruct every crime scene so she can gain complete insight. Her writers care more about pleasing her with an intressting story more than a fair punishment,maybe from fear of her, maybe they eagerly wait the day they can write her trial
I love the way you handled this topic. Focalors seems to have a LOT going on that we haven't seen just yet, and I'm VERY excited to see what's coming in the next Archon Quests.

a pattern i just realised is that for evrey archon their values are always contradictory to what you expect,like the writers are playing a twist on each concept,venti represent freedom but he is not free and the same for the other archon,maybe the justice in fontaine will not be the justice we know but another kind that hold diffrent value instead of holding a value like equality and equity

Zhongli, God of Contracts, but is controlled by a contract he previously made
Ei, God of Eternity, but the people she cared/cares for aren't eternal
Nahida, God of Wisdom, but feels ignorant and inferior compared to the other Gods

Focalors burning the photo that covers Neuvillete makes me think she and her judge are covering for something really big, maybe something that poitns directly at Celestia. Maybe they want to use their... judging system to atack Celestia or... something. I am not sure.Maybe they need an inmense ammount of power to make the machine be able to judge Celestia
I don't sees delusions. I'd actually like a Twist that this was her Role. If we cant trust what we see in Fontine we can't the furina Behavior at face value.

Would be really funny if it turned out Focalors/Furina isn't somehow the "rightful" Archon of Hydro. We know the previous one went MIA and became the Amrita pool/Mega-tree to fend off the Sign of Apaosha. What if she just kind of "took on" the role of Hydro Archon...? To the point where she doesn't even have a Gnosis? Genshin seems to do these twists with what the Archon is supposed to stand for VS the reality/subversion of those ideals. Her literally not being the rightful ruler would be interesting, but that's the role she now "has to perform".
What if Furina was entrusted to take care of Fontaine by previous hydro archon before her departure to Sumeru. Wouldn't this make her rule valid, even if she is not the real archon. Her current aproach may be debatable, but really - did she ever done something against this commitment?
@@radovanszep Yeah that could definitely be the case aswell. Agreed to rule as the acting authority while Egeria went to Sumeru, fully expecting her to come back, except she didn't. Over time, the people of Fontaine just called her the new Hydro Archon, in either version she still could not be in possession of a gnosis, which we know is how Celestia denotes the God of the nation. Maybe the previous gnosis is in the oratrice?

I love her
I have this theory that the hydro archon is based from the greek mythology goddess Metis. She is one of the oceanids and was one of Zeus' wives who later gave birth to Athena (the Oratrice maybe?). Her name can be translated as "magical cunning" and is known to be the goddess of good counsel and wisdom before being swallowed by Zeus. She can change to different shapes so some may call her a trickster. It makes sense since Fontaine's trailer involves magic and deception as a main factor of the story. So my prediction for the fontaine archon is that Focalor is actually a fake archon and is only being used by the true archon which I predict to be Arlecchino. I think she's deceiving both Fontaine and Fatui and only moves along her will to prevent the prophecy.
Or probably just like nahida. The old Archon died or something then she took over not understanding well what is happening then suddenly burdened by the prophecy, scared of this she plays a facade and treat everything as some sort of a play or drama to cope and show everyone everything is fine. Probably she also met neovolite on the way who's hypothecally the hydro dragon as some sort of guardian to oversee fontaine while focalor is coping from reality.
I don't think we have enough information yet. I am hyped to find out and start spinning out new possibilities.
Plot twist: Turns out a peice of the former Hydro archin is inside that scale thing and Focalor looks up to her so much that she takes all decisions by the scale is absolute. though it might be too close to how Ei Looks up to Makoto.
I almost wonder if the people in the underground are put there not just to produce power, but also to keep them away from Celestia that currently has it's beady eyes on Fontaine.

So I discovered a very interesting thing regarding pneuma and ousia energy that you probably don't know about because it's a really old easter egg that no one paid attention to at all during the time. Recently I was rewatching the Chasm archon quest cutscene(The one where Yelan, Xiao, Kuki etc. were finally escaping), and I nearly dropped my phone hearing what Yelan said as she was chanting. Her chant was, "Stars align, bestow your light. Evil purged by thunder's might. Spirit curbed, pneuma surge. By dictum divine, heed these words. Do as I command." That's right, PNEUMA. That means Yelan's ancestors also knew how to use pneuma energy, maybe even do spells with it without having to put it in physical machines. I bet after the Fontaine story, we'll learn more about Yelan's mysterious ancestors, maybe in an event or a new Liyue region?
im really excited for focalor's lore. she does act dramatic and over the top and seems like she doesnt really give much care about her people or is really a "responsible" archon, but at the end of the quest (spoiler) neuvilette said that she has been spending a VERY long time figuring out the prophecy
can we talk about how in the first archon quest chain most character already cried? I've never seen this much waterworks from any other nation

I believe that Focalors ideal of Justice is centered around the Theatrics of Justice, not the Judgement or Sentencing. She cares most about the story, the twists, the headlines, the fame, the Indemnitium.
What guided her to have this specification over her ideal? Well … with little to no info on everything Fontaine, I can’t say for certain. But I wonder if she witnessed something where people were judged in a way that was rather over-the-top, you know, like the destruction of a whole nation … or the Annihilation of Two Moons and the near erasure of an entire race?

I think Focalors is not the real Archon. The real Archon will end up being Neuvillete. Focalors is the face and distraction while Neuvillete is the real power. It would fit the theme of deception and the stage in Fontaine. If we look into the magician allegory then Focalors is the assistant drawing the attention while the magician does the magic.
Furina/Focalors is the REAL archon. There won't be anymore male archons. Get over it 😂.

nah, they already gave her a demon name 'Focalors' kind of name that are usually reserve for archons, Neuvillete is not an archon, but also not an ordinary one, his skill kit (from leaks) already gave hint of who he is/where he's coming from, probably the reason why they hide some info '???' in his drip marketing
@@razirazraz2626 I don’t think a demon name is end all be all. It’s more like a title. Ei has her own but also shares Baal with her sister. Rukkedevata and Nahida both seemed to be Buer. Focalors may not even be her actual title. But I guess we will see what happens

I think it will also be interesting to compare Nahida to Focalor, both are new archons, it feels like they are at contrast to each other.
well also Ei in a way, cuz while she was around, she only took the seat after her sister passed. And Venti isn't the oldest archon ever either. But yeah, Nahida and Focalor are only opposite sides of the spectrum completely.

PLEASE READ THIS.
If you set all sounds except voice to 0, and then go to the fountain next to the Opera, you can hear Focalor crying. I belive that the profecy in question that is mentioned by Lyney, has already happened, and that the reason as to why Focalor act the way she does, and the reason behind the Oratrice's judgement, is denial of the fact that all of Fontaine no longer exists, and that the Fontaine we see today, is a lie created by Focalor.
Its also important to mention the ammount of Greek names and mythos in Fontaine, which is a gigantic red flag to the fact that, so long as she is refusing and trying to flee the profecy, makes it so that the profecy becomes real.
(This, if true, proves the theory that Focalor's character in Honkai Impact 3rd would be Sirin, the original Herrscher of the Void that started the Second Eruption for pretty much the exact same reasons)

Honestly I was thinking something similar, cuz why do only Fontanians become water from the primordial sea? It seems like the Fontanians might be made by Focalors or the previous archon themselves, but that doesn't explain then why people still believe in a prophecy that already happened.
Also just throwing out the question of 'who made the Oratrice?' wondering if it might be the previous archon

My theory is that Furina made the Oratrice, and the reason as to why the Oratrice claimed Tartaglia as guilty was so it could protect the illusion that the prophecy has not happened yet. After all the Harbingers are after the Gnosis, and it is possible that if she loses her gnosis, then the Fontaine we know could disappear.
Focalor is bipolar. She will be the first Archon that is mentally unstable...
You could argue the others are as well. Nahida is techincally a child by the archon’s standards so she would be mentally unstable in the sense that child isnt fully mentally developed. Ei suffers from severe depression evidenced by her locking herself away from the world to cope with grief. Zhongli has begun suffering from erosion which is kinda like Alzheimer’s or dementia as their sanity and sense of self will also erode. Not too sure what the argument would be for venti off the top of my head tho

Where is the idea that sin and advancement (technologically) are connected, come from? If that was true the Ancient Civilization would have been nuked by Celestia.
I can only think of Ei's voice line. Early on in the game a lot of people were fresh from Honkai Impact 3 and tended to assume the same plot would be repeated I guess. Therefore the "arrogation" the Unknown God complained about was assumed to be technological advances. But such a view isn't tenable after Enkanomiya when we learned the ancient civilization wasn't zapped by Celestia, but was destroyed incidentally, in a big war.

I have a theory, what if the ending of fontaine's archon quest was gonna be somewhat the same as sumeru?
In sumeru archon quest it stated that people became way too reliant to the akasha terminal to the point that it affects their knowledge and wisdom since everything is in akasha. They 'trust' akasha so much. In the archon quest we also find out that akasha was run by the archon's gnosis and in the end Nahida gave it away in order for knowledge and wisdom to blossom again.
In contrast to fontaine we can observe that the people 'trust' the oratrice so much that their sense of justice and its notion became flawed. In a way they became reliant to it too. What if the oratrice is also run by the archon's gnosis? Maybe in the end Furina will also gave it away in order serve real justice. If this happen it is possible that Furina will now lead in giving the verdict and thus will gain people's reverence towards her.
I mean it's plausible though😂 Although there's a chance that mihoyo will give us big reveal so that the story will not be redundant.
In hindsight, perhaps having your entire nation literally powered by *drama* wasn't such a brilliant idea after all.
If I gonna be honest I feel like folcilore might be a copy created by celestia since her demon counterpart was a Angel of heaven that’s my theory about her as for the og hydro archon she most likely was born in Fountaine and looked up to the heavenly principals and maybe they enjoyed there loyalty and kept a copy of her

it seems that ever since Inazuma, each nation have issues in reality that contradicts with its national idea
in Inazuma, the land of eternity, people seek the beauty of moments and are reluctant towards the measures of pursuing eternity (vision hunt)
in Sumeru, the land of wisdom, the Akademiya is commiting acts of folly and the archon says nothing about it (according to the trailer)
and now in Fontaine, the land of justice, we see issues of injustice occurring everywhere, such as false accusations and judgements, as well as members of higher social class abusing their rights and committing murder, human trafficking and drug dealing without being judged
Here is my theory. Furina is not delusional, in the contrast she knows very well about the problems in her nation, neuvillette said she’s doing everything to prevent the prophecy. And she knows that her people were born with sin. So maybe that’s why she “lives in the court” so she can cleanse their sins and that’s why she created that oratrice thing

Very interesting theory. But Aster you misquoted her in the video😭😭. It was never said the people bear no sins or bear no sins in the eyes of the tribunal. It said that the people bear no sins in the eyes of the gods. And only the laws and the tribunal can judge them. Even her. Meaning that she doesn't believe the gods have the right judge the people, as would be the case in nations like Inazuma and Snezhnaya. But only the law and the court can convict the people
Genshin has this weird heirarchy with Gods so when I say Gods, I mean the ones in Celestia AKA the ones in the Tribunal or The Sustainer 👌Archons are called Archons separately but I'll fix that in future vids next time
