I just got a quest 3 yestarday and holyyyy crap its insane. This is my first vr headset and the games are just so fun, plus the mixed reality. As someone who has tried the quest 2, the pancake lenses are such a big upgrade, well worth it. The only 2 complaints I have is the battery life isn’t great, and it would be nice to have an OLED for those deep blacks. Thanks for the detailed review!
Awesome! The Quest 3 is an incredible headset. Battery headstraps are a great option to boost battery life and comfort. Worst case, you could also just plug in an portable battery back with a longer cable and keep the battery pack in your back pocket, similar to how the Apple Vision Pro works. And yeah, I do still miss the OLED screen on my Samsung Odyssey headset from years ago. I'm really hoping we get an OLED in the Quest 4 or Quest Pro 2. But that's probably at least a year away.
@ I’ve thought about using a portable battery pack, but I have seen issues online of people frying their charging port from not using the included charger. Do you have any tips on that?
@superfishies2022 Wow, that's the first I've heard of frying charging ports, but I also only use higher end battery packs from companies like Samsung and Anker. I would just stay away from no name brands or go the easiest route and get either the boboVR battery pack strap or Meta's official elite strap with battery. Those are guaranteed not to cause issues and make the headset dramatically more comfortable.
@@TechisodeTV Alright, thanks for the advice! I'll probably settle on getting a good anker battery pack, since they're chargers have been pretty reliable for my past devices.
@@otto.reimer you can buy head straps with an external battery. I’ve been using them since the Quest2 without issue. I’m currently on my quest 3 and I’ve had that since launch. The only way you can potentially fry out the USB-C port is if the USB-C is not seated properly.
Thanks so much for this comprehensive comparison! I have a Q2 and wasn't sure about upgrading to the 3 or 3s, but now I'm convinced the 3 is the way to go. This was super helpful, and thank you!!
Awesome! I'm glad the video helped! There are a few active deals right now if you're interested (linked in description and pinned comment, affiliate) and you can get an extra $60 game credit with my referral link (in pinned comment) when you activate your headset.
We bought the 3s 2 days ago and have hardly took it off! Iam a gamer, my wife isnt, but she loves it!! It is our first vr set as well, we werent willing to spend 500 pounds tho, i do get motion sickness from certain console games. One of the reasons why i didnt wanna spend 500 quid on one. But very impressed with the 3s, it will serve us well for a good few years. But now we are hooked, even thinking about getting another 3s set, so we can have one each. For the price, 280 pounds, its very good value for money!
The action button has so much potential! I'd love for it to do something like start a recording with a double tap. Single tap toggles pass-through as it always has. Triple tap? Maybe take a screenshot.
A very detailed video comparing all the aspects. I was pretty confused between 3 and 3s, of which one should I go for. Now i am pretty sure i am going for Quest 3, as mostly i will be using it for watching movies. Thanks. Your video was top notch and you gained one loyal subscriber for sure.
The Q3S is more of a Q2 replacement. If you can, get the Q3, those lenses make all the difference. I can tell you owning the Q1 the Q2 and Q3 ( i miss the Q1 oled panel tho)
@@KevinoPepino69 I just got the 3s, up from the rift, and I'm a bit puzzled seeing so many reviews panning the 3s visuals. Yes, maybe the 3 is WAY better. But IMHO the 3S's visuals are actually very good. God-rays and bloom isn't in the same ballpark as what I'm used to, and the resolution is really good. If you're new to VR or even used to an older headset like I am.... the 3S looks amazing. I can easily see myself doing work in it for extended periods. I say this even though the Rift had oleds. Yes, the 3 may be even more amazing-er. But I don't think it's fair to say a device that's $200 cheaper is somehow "bad" for not being at the same level: It still looks plenty good. HL:Alyx last night blew my mind... I would advise people to get the 3S if cost is an issue, unless they're VR connoisseurs, which I think is what most VR REVIEWERS are. Which is why I loved this video, it gave the 3S a fair shake IMO. EDIT: I agree with Techisode here though, the headband is probably the weakest area and you probably want a better one.
It dosent really matter how good it is, it just matters whats your budget overall, you dont need £500 for a good experience, every vr headset is great i have a Quest 3S and its Incredible, in my opinion the details are much more better than the Quest 2 overall because of the Chip (Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2) which makes the Details much more better than the Quest 2, in my opinion, £299 for a little worse Meta Quest 3 is one of the best deals, Full Colour Passthrough and the controllers of the Meta Quest 3, but overall it dosent matter how much money you have and to spend, all the vr headsets are amazing and its great to live in this time of the beginning of the future and what it has to offer.
You'll see a massive difference! I own a Quest 2 and CV1. The CV1 has great colors, but the god rays and resolution ruin it. My Quest 2 is so much clearer, it feels like getting glasses for the first time! Plus, wireless VR makes it SO HARD to go back to wires. Also, at least for me, tracking quality is honestly negligible.
Just being able to turn without wires is going to be an incredible improvement. I remember the first time I went from tethered PCVR to a standalone headset and was blown away by his much easier it was to play action games.
Would be cool if holding down the action button opened up like a pass through portal in your game without pausing the game while a single press still toggles it
A huge compliment to you. I've already watched a lot of meta videos, especially in the German language area. But your video is phenomenal. This is what a good video should look like. Very professional and detailed. Thank you for that!
Hey thank you so much for your video you help decided to buy the meta quest 3s for my birthday and I need something new to do thanks for your vid once again
I am so happy with my meta3s it is very nice the sound good and for 2k it is enough for gaming already also the prices this is fantastic 😊if upgrade will wait for quest 4
This is a good review but I am definitely not in the target audience. I'm so archaic I am trying to upgrade from the Samsung Gear VR where you snap your Samsung phone into the headset they don't work anymore because they're not supported. All I used to play were bomber games or space games flying a ship and shooting aliens in outer space if I was doing any gaming. I mainly enjoyed watching TH-cam or TH-cam TV or using the surfing the web. I do wear glasses and my headset was horrible at focusing with the little black wheel on top. I might take a shot at the 3s just to see if I liked it because I assume it's so much better than the Samsung Gear VR from 7 years ago. Is there a way for me to look at the games menu before I buy all the stuff to see if they have any slow kind of airplane or arcade games I'm not interested in zombies or playing ping pong or bowling question mark? Thank you for taking the time to make the video and thank everyone who does answer my questions
Great video! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’m thinking about upgrading from my Quest 2 to the Quest 3S, but wasn’t sure if I should save my money for the Quest 3. This video really helped me decide. I think I’ll just go with the cheaper Quest 3S since I’m a more casual VR gamer. I’ll for sure subscribe!
Thanks! I'm glad the video helped! Yeah, for casual playing, the Quest 3S is more than sufficient at a great price point. Especially if you're getting the 128GB version. But if you are planning on getting the 256GB headset, it may be worth spending the extra $100 since you're getting close to the Quest 3 price now.
my first vr headset which i got 4 days ago was the quest 3. I was thinking of getting the 3S but since this is also my first console and my parents rarely buy me devices i just helped pay for the 3 so i could get better lenses.
Yeah, it's a big difference, especially if you plan on playing a lot of VR. For casual playing every once in a while, the 3S is more than sufficient, but the 3 is definitely next level with the pancake lenses.
@@TechisodeTVif i have 3S and have clarity issues with game hud menus ( like PDA in Subnautica (even moved back to max using mod) and game menu in Moss (Quest+ game) ) being too close, will these problems go off with Quest 3 not S? Its 900zł more (220$) for me and i have only few days left to be able to return (30 days) or i simply need correction lenses?
I bought prescription lenses from Zenni as I weat glasses. Also bought a better headset support to ease sharing. Easy to removeandpu on just by turning a knob
Thank you for this video! I was about to throw my Galaxy S25 Ultra in the trash before you showed me how to fix some of the horrible "updates" in the One UI 7.
I upgraded from a quest 2 to a 3s ive barely noticed a difference. Except for when i tried laggy gamee and the performance is much better, also i like the controllers.
It’s my first ever VR headset so I got the 3s and I love it I bet if I had the 2 I would the new quest 3 for lens becuase I wouldn’t want the same lens again on the new gen headset I would want something 10x nicer
I'm wanting to get a VR headset because of the VR anatomy app as I'm a university student and it sounds like a fantastic tool but I'm so conflicted on what to get? I'm mainly prioritizing money, what would you do in my situation? 😭
If you're just getting a headset for school and learning, the 3S will be more than enough, or maybe even a used Quest 2 to save even more money. The better screens and field of view on the Quest 3 matter a lot more if you're watching movies, playing competitive games, or plan on using it often.
Would you recommend a used Quest 2 for 200$ or new Quest 3S for 330$? I'm new to VR and plan to mostly use it for driving sims and PCVR, but don't know if I will want to play lots of standalone games. If I find a used Quest 3 for around 400$, do you think it is worth it?
I’m hoping to get a headset for livestreaming 3d vtubing content and used to own the old oculus rift. I was thinking of getting a wireless so i can run and hop around and thought the 3s would be really good, i just am worried about streaming it to my obs so i can livestream it with everything i have set up for my streams… I also just dont like holding controllers forever (sweaty hands) so im hopeful that the “fullbody tracking” available with the virtual desktop app would help remove my need to hold them so it can track my hands with my model instead. Who knows though… 🤔
Been waiting for a video on one ui 7 since ... If there are in depth changes and even the slightest of changes I trust youre one of a few who woukd pick them 😊all up
You need an app called "immersed" installed on both the headset and your computer. Then you can control your computer from the headset and craft a monitor of pet much any size. Takes a bit of fiddling to get it set up right, but it's awesome once it's set up.
@DecentAlien No problem! And I'm glad the video was helpful :) Enjoy your new headset! And don't forget to use the referral link in the pinned comment to get an extra $60 game credit when your headset comes in :)
Im stuck whats the better option a brand new 3s with batman for $300 or a refurb 3 for $380? 🤔😵💫 ** i ended up getting the quest 3 512GB brand new, i noticed the referb had less storage and didnt include batman**
@NAEAAEAN I just got the quest 3 512gb for $500 at bestbuy. $200 difference isn't much. If you can afford to spend 300 on entertainment then you can shell out an extra $200. I doubt the poor are prioritizing buying a piece of tech over food.
@@WillyG0508 np man, enjoy your quest 3 it's awesome, don't forget to order some prescription lenses or non prescription lenses to keep the quests lense safe! They are extremely prone to scratches. Only way to fix the scratches is to replace the whole quest. It's the most important accessory! I went with Zenni non prescription for $30
Great question! Since that's PCVR, you'd see very little difference besides the controllers. I'd only get the 3S if you wanted to get into standalone games and mixed reality. If you just want a better half life experience, then you'd have to get the Quest 3 to see a worthwhile difference.
My Quest 3 does not show me the current battery percentage left, in Quick Settings. unless I hold the button to power the unit down. It just shows the battery icon draining, until it gives you a low battery warning. This is frustrating, because you can never tell how much battery you have left. On my Quest 2 with the Bobo M2 Pro, you can always see a percentage. Thankfully, I'll have the Bobo S3 Pro in a few days.
I upgraded from the quest 2 to the 3s. As a average consumer, its only a good buy assuming you cannot afford the quest 3. If you can afford the quest 3 then definitely avoid this one
I don't agree. I had the Quest 3 and although the displays are lovely, I could not get the two images to look like one. I simply didn't get comfortable. I've bought a 3s because even though the Fresnel lenses aren't as good, the comfort is far greater. With the colour pass through and greater resolution and colour density compared to the quest 2 - such I love. It's a good upgrade for me. Oh the room scanning as well and the Snapdragon 2 chip. Q3 pancake lenses are nice but they didn't get it right for me.
@@VanGoWanderlustI wouldn't go off that. Quest 3 resolution is good, and the images can be improved with side quest. It's an excellent PC headset if you use WiFi to stream. Fancy new pancake lenses are indeed lovely, but in my opinion they didn't get the headset right. It's uncomfortable. I've had a lot of headsets including an Index and that was bad as well.
just one question for anyone that has went from 2 to 3, how are shooting games because that's all I play and sometimes like tabor will be blurry from a little bit far away and on the outside of the lenses. is it a lot better on the quest 3 like 600 dollars better??
Do the controllers on quest 3s still have a high chance to stick drift like they do on quest2? I had a quest 2 for 2 months and in under 2 weeks I had the left controller drift and after another 2 weeks the right controller started to drift.
I bought my Quest 2 when they came out (I have the 64GB version even) but had zero problems with my sticks. Have not had any drifting problems with the QUest 3 either. My now 16 year old Xbox 360 controller have just started to drift slightly. Maybe you live in a high humidity or something that makes them fail fast or?
Ive had a release quest 2 (64 gigs too), and the quest 2 had gotten stick drift after a 2 years of alternating between heavy use and sitting on a shelf, afaik the quest 3 didnt change the joysticks, so stick drift is very much possible @@AndrewTSq
The Bobo straps are SO much more comfortable. Like wearing a pillow on your head. Then when you try to switch to another strap after using the Bobo for a while, everything else feels uncomfortable by comparison haha.
I don't know if you have a friend with a 3D printer but you can just print a back piece that makes the stock strap perfect. Then return that bobovr and save your money. It looks like it adds weight too. I don't like that. The printed piece is extremely light and so is the stock strap. I don't know if that bobovr comes with a built-in battery but a battery bank is better anyway.
@@elijahjackson5232 The battery life is not very good and the default strap is uncomfortable, so i’d definitely recommend buying a headstrap from somewhere like BoboVR or Kiwi Design (the official Meta elite straps are known for having issues) Otherwise it’s been very good. Note that the 3S has a limited IPD adjustment, so it might not fit your eyes depending on your IPD.
100%. The Quest 3S is the new entry model for Meta's headsets and is a great upgrade from the Quest 2. But is missing some of the premium features from the Quest 3, like the pancake lenses, wider field of view, higher resolution screen, and more.
Quest 3 every time. It's hands down the best headset, but it's also the most expensive. And not everyone needs the best of the best. Plenty of people will be more than happy with the 3S and the extra cash in their pocket :)
Which is recommended if i'll use VR mainly for watching videos and movies? I know the quest 3 has the highest resolution but what i'm mainly concerned with is the pancake lenses and wider field of view if it's worth it. i'm considering the quest 3s if it isn't worth it.
For watching movies, the Quest 3 may be worth the extra money, simply because the edges of the screen on the Quest 3S will be blurry, due to the fresnel lenses. Since the pancake lenses give you a sharp image even to the corners, movies would be noticeable more immersive/enjoyable. If possible, test out a friend's Quest 2 to see the blurry corners and see if it bothers you. You can also look at my screen quality test right at the beginning of the video to see what I mean by blurry corners.
3s also doesn’t have enough storage at 128gb. In 2 weeks of using the Meta , I’m already at 100gb usage. Get the 3. You will regret having to delete games and to install games to make space just because you wanted to save 200 bucks.
I'm only 1/3 of the way in and he seems to be comparing th 3s more to the 2 than the 3...obviously it's way better...I really want to know why the 3s is better than the 3, most I've read seems like the 3 is superior
The 3S is NOT better than the 3. 3S has less pixels, less resolution, lower FOV than the Quest 3, and doesn't have Pancake Lenses. Not to forget mention the 3S also doesn't have a headphone jack, the only reason people say it's better is because of the price which isn't really that much less than the 3... You can get a 3s for as low as $299 and a 3 for as low as $379, it's just 80 dollars
The pancake lenses really do make a dramatic difference for immersion. The 3S is a huge step up from the 2, but the 3 is next level for those who want to go all in on VR. Though I'm excited to test out Samsung's XR headset early next year, provided it launches with a decent game library.
Guys, I beg you for help!!! I was thinking about buying VR glasses and came across meta quest 2, soon meta quest 3s came out and my attention shifted to it, but now I found a much cheaper version of meta quest 2. Who has already tried both, are there any differences between them if you play from a computer? Well, if you take the resolution, viewing angle and pixel density! If anyone is interested - meta quest 2 - $ 285, and meta quest 3s - $ 430. I did not find cheaper, except for used ones.
Also where do u live if u don't mind me asking because that can be a big factor to the price and the value you are getting if you write back I would love to write a more detailed version and go through specs and what is better and so on I'm only asking because 3s is 299.99 usd and u should not pay that much for a 2 that doesn't have color pass through and a outdated cpu
@@SmartMoneyWw Well, the problem with the price is that I live in Belarus. I don't have direct delivery to this country, so I have to buy from other resellers, plus delivery costs about $50 (although it depends on where you look, I found from $30 to $80). Another important thing is that when importing goods worth more than $200, you have to pay tax, and that will add another $30-50. Plus, resellers set an even higher price because they want to earn more. I found Quest 2 quite cheap, basically the price difference between 2 and 3s is small (420 for 2 and 480 for 3s). That's why I'm wondering if there is a difference for PCVR between quest 2 and 3s.
@vandell2171 then I would go with the 3s it has color pass through like the 2 but the 2 is in black and white also the 3s is just overall faster and gets better performance has a better battery life
@vandell2171 if u don't care about some of the stuff I mentioned, pcvr is overall OK on the quest 2, but it doesn't have shadows and will have more lag and will get a slower internet connection, but if you want a more advanced gaming headset for pcvr, I would choose the 3s because it has the same chip and components as the 3.
My quest 3s is no where near that clear. Im unable to read anything up close in the game. No matter what i do its blurry. Ive tried moving the lens. Bought an expensive head strap. When i use pass-through everything around me is grainy. My phone screen is impossible to read How do i get it clear like this!?
@@Draconiangem it is not recommended in general to use Bluetooth because the latency would be too high. There are some exceptions, but it is much better to use a wired headphone for gaming. For movies though, Bluetooth tends to be fine
The Quest Pro has been discontinued and will only sell until there are no more units available. I also already did a deep dive review comparing the Pro to the 3. I thought about including the Pro anyway, but it would have added about 10 minutes to the video without much value. That's why I reference the Pro video at the end of this video instead. In short, the Pro is only good for PCVR and the 3 is better by a solid margin for standalone VR use. And I strongly recommend that people don't buy the Pro because a Pro 2 is rumored to be released in 2025 :) I hope that helps! :)
Epidemic Sound accidentally copyright striked the first upload even though I have an active license. I had to jump through some hoops to clear it, part of it being a reupload. Fortunately, only 200 people saw the original video :) Merry Christmas by the way!
Its just not worth it as un upgrade from the 2. Its only good as a first headset. Just like the quest 2 was. The 3 is good for both, its worth the money imo as both a starter headset and a quest 2 upgrade
Only Q3 for me. If you itemize it, you get quite a lot more for that $200. If you have a job there is no excuse for buying the 3s. Just save for another month or two for the Q3. Only way I would get a 3s is if I was a kid without a job that had to save for 6 months just to get $300. I don't believe in the "my first vr headset" nonsense either. Those people always spend more in the long run.
I wasn’t really aware of all this until just before Xmas . I nearly went out and bought a 3s after watching all these influencer videos but then I tried a 3 in a store..the store didn’t have the unit sanitised and it was greasy yuck..I had to wipe ..left lens some bozo had graffiti scratched it ..I wear glasses for distance..I couldn’t see properly without glasses which I found odd as I don’t wear specs for using iPad …I has to wear distance specs and then I could see properly and was pleasantly surprised my specs fitted in headset. However…the demo was really short and bad that was running on headset and it took ages to turn unit on..and kept crashing or power lead bad..battery wasn’t connected or head strap just held to face. If 3s is worse than 3 then no way I’m buying unless I can trial and return…which….they won’t allow! Why? I’m waiting for quest 4. The pixels are still visible which to me isn’t immersive. So anybody new to this go try first….dont just buy. Wait for Quest 4 or whatever..this feels like 1996, 1997, 1998… when what you buy is obsolete in 6 months time… those first windows 98 PCs were £2000 for a decent one in 1998! Now they are in skips….and that money is in bill gates bank account with interest…😮
These things are JUNK.. I bought one to game with my kid and it took 2 weeks to reach the conclusion that I waster my money.. nothing on them works correctly.. they constantly lose tracking on the controllers.. you cant connect to p.c. using a cable so not even useful as a monitor for a gaming p.c. since they only connect via bluetooth.. and the lag is so insane I'm not sure why they even bothered to give them the ability to do it.. I mean absolutely useless.. im going to use my quest 3s for target practice... so it's not a total waste of money.. atleast I'll get the satisfaction of watching this p.o.s. explode
I somehow regret buying the quest 3. This thing cant do anything else apart from vr games. Open the menu and all thsts there is vr games iam not into this level of wanting to play games all day. I assumed i will ne able to connect to my phone then file transfer back and forth screen share voth ways but it barely does any of that. Even the pass-through is manly able to be used when u are palyi g these vr games.😢
Overpriced garbage..Games are wack and too expensive.Pay for a game and then you need to pay more in the game for more features or songs.Complete money grab.
I've literally bought every single game I have on sale for like 5 bucks. I've gotten big games for free. I don't care about buying new songs so that helps too.

Wow, you can tell this video took real time and effort to make. Thanks for this outstanding informative video!
Thanks for the kind words! And yeah, videos like this take a crazy amount of time to produce haha :)
I'm still on the Oculus Rift OG. I just ordered the Quest 3 and I'm pumped now.
Thanks so much for this comprehensive comparison! I have a Q2 and wasn't sure about upgrading to the 3 or 3s, but now I'm convinced the 3 is the way to go. This was super helpful, and thank you!!
Awesome! I'm glad the video helped!

Those are solid suggestions! I'm really hoping Meta releases an update with features like that sooner than later.
These features already exist. Press the right menu button and trigger at the same time to take a screenshot, hold them to start a recording
@@felix5728 love using these shortcuts
I also use Meta AI to start recording sometimes.
or like hold it to start recording, double tap for screenshot, and tap once for passthrough
Incredibly helpful! Def gonna cop the 3s after this!
Quest 3 for lenses alone is worth the upgrade. I have the Quest 2 as well and the difference is shocking.
I can tell you owning the Q1 the Q2 and Q3
( i miss the Q1 oled panel tho)
I recently got a 3s for Christmas and it’s awesome! If you get one you won’t be disappointed. It’s nitpicking with the 3 imo
Is it? That's the one I'm thinking about getting but wanted to make sure it was good cause don't wanna spend 500 if I don't have to
@@KevinoPepino69 I just got the 3s, up from the rift, and I'm a bit puzzled seeing so many reviews panning the 3s visuals.
It dosent really matter how good it is, it just matters whats your budget overall, you dont need £500 for a good experience, every vr headset is great i have a Quest 3S and its Incredible, in my opinion the details are much more better than the Quest 2 overall because of the Chip (Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2) which makes the Details much more better than the Quest 2, in my opinion, £299 for a little worse Meta Quest 3 is one of the best deals, Full Colour Passthrough and the controllers of the Meta Quest 3, but overall it dosent matter how much money you have and to spend, all the vr headsets are amazing and its great to live in this time of the beginning of the future and what it has to offer.
im switching from my rift cv1 to the quest 3s in a few days and im hyped
You'll see a massive difference!
I own a Quest 2 and CV1. The CV1 has great colors, but the god rays and resolution ruin it. My Quest 2 is so much clearer, it feels like getting glasses for the first time! Plus, wireless VR makes it SO HARD to go back to wires. Also, at least for me, tracking quality is honestly negligible.
Just being able to turn without wires is going to be an incredible improvement. I remember the first time I went from tethered PCVR to a standalone headset and was blown away by his much easier it was to play action games.
@TechisodeTV same the psvr was cheap but the move controllers are 155$!
Would be cool if holding down the action button opened up like a pass through portal in your game without pausing the game while a single press still toggles it
I have the 3s and love it. However, after trying a friend’s 3 I’m on the fence about just getting the 3.
Had rift s to q2. Such and improvement.
Going q3 soon. I'm excited!
Q3 is another huge step up. It'll definitely be a lot of fun :)
Proud of you random child. Sacrificing instead of settling

I bought prescription lenses from Zenni as I weat glasses. Also bought a better headset support to ease sharing. Easy to removeandpu on just by turning a knob
How do you like the Zenni lenses? I haven't had a chance to get a set for myself yet.

Fantastic video. Thanks for your hard work and detail
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Very good breakdown! Exactly what I was looking for
This is an amazing video, thank you!
The button on the quest 3s should let you record a video
I used my for the first time yesterday and let me tell u this is amazing
If I find a used Quest 3 for around 400$, do you think it is worth it?
if you’re using it for driving sims i would recommend getting the 3 for the clearer lenses if you can. if you can’t get the 3s
If there are in depth changes and even the slightest of changes I trust youre one of a few who woukd pick them 😊all up
Thanks! That's actually the next video I'm working on :)
@TechisodeTV yehhhh 🕺🏾... Can't wait. Thanks 👍🏾
How did you use the Quest 3 as a virtual 57 inch monitor? I just ordered my headset and would like to try it out. Thanks!
You need an app called "immersed" installed on both the headset and your computer. Then you can control your computer from the headset and craft a monitor of pet much any size. Takes a bit of fiddling to get it set up right, but it's awesome once it's set up.
@@TechisodeTV Thank you for the quick reply, looking forward to trying it out!! This video has been super helpful

Im stuck whats the better option a brand new 3s with batman for $300 or a refurb 3 for $380? 🤔😵💫 ** i ended up getting the quest 3 512GB brand new, i noticed the referb had less storage and didnt include batman**
Do not ever get Quest 3s it is just for poor people who cant afford the Quest 3
@NAEAAEAN I just got the quest 3 512gb for $500 at bestbuy. $200 difference isn't much. If you can afford to spend 300 on entertainment then you can shell out an extra $200. I doubt the poor are prioritizing buying a piece of tech over food.
@NAEAAEAN I also just ordered the meta elite strap with battery cause dang this thing dies pretty quick when playing batman lol
Thanks for this comment. I never even thought to get refurbished!
I went with Zenni non prescription for $30
I mainly use my quest 2 for half life Alex so would the 3s make a difference?
Great question! Since that's PCVR, you'd see very little difference besides the controllers. I'd only get the 3S if you wanted to get into standalone games and mixed reality.
If you just want a better half life experience, then you'd have to get the Quest 3 to see a worthwhile difference.
I feel like the 3s can be a bit of a double edge sword
On one hand its cheaper
And the other hand
Less storage and the lenses
Are what come to mind
My Quest 3 does not show me the current battery percentage left, in Quick Settings. unless I hold the button to power the unit down. It just shows the battery icon draining, until it gives you a low battery warning. This is frustrating, because you can never tell how much battery you have left. On my Quest 2 with the Bobo M2 Pro, you can always see a percentage. Thankfully, I'll have the Bobo S3 Pro in a few days.
very insightful! tyyy
I upgraded from the quest 2 to the 3s. As a average consumer, its only a good buy assuming you cannot afford the quest 3. If you can afford the quest 3 then definitely avoid this one
Are there controller straps that go around your hand instead of those dangling straps?
Yeah,You can get them both from bobovr and kiwi design.
bobovr, kiwi design, amvr and also a few others make grips with a strap that goes around your hand
I'm using a pair of bluetooth headphones and I don't notice any sound delay
Woah, guess I still lucky that I get q3 half year before 3s release
VR P10 ear buds are good but the battery sucks really hard ! Barely 2hrs for mine and they are 10 months old
I don't think I'll need to update yet tho.. I can still play new games and honestly the performance is fine for me.
I might be hard headed cuz I can't feel the hard plastic on the back of my head 😭
As a person who has Quest 3s i can say, that Quest 3 much better, because of the screen. If I know how blurry Quest 3s mby I wouldn't buy it.
I’ve been trying to decide which to get, that helps a lot.
@@VanGoWanderlust what you need to do is to think what you want to use it for.
And ideally you need to try them both on.
3s is a downgrade from the 3. A lot of what people say is just copium
just one question for anyone that has went from 2 to 3, how are shooting games because that's all I play and sometimes like tabor will be blurry from a little bit far away and on the outside of the lenses. is it a lot better on the quest 3 like 600 dollars better??
I have quest 3 and 2, 0 difference when you actually play a game and are immersed
Ive had a release quest 2 (64 gigs too), and the quest 2 had gotten stick drift after a 2 years of alternating between heavy use and sitting on a shelf, afaik the quest 3 didnt change the joysticks, so stick drift is very much possible @@AndrewTSq
an accessory video would be nice
I ordered a BoboVR strap after a day of owning my 3S
The Bobo straps are SO much more comfortable. Like wearing a pillow on your head. Then when you try to switch to another strap after using the Bobo for a while, everything else feels uncomfortable by comparison haha.
@TechisodeTV the new one even has a headphone jack for the 3s!
Have you had any issues with your 3s? Thinking bout buying one
@@elijahjackson5232 The battery life is not very good and the default strap is uncomfortable, so i’d definitely recommend buying a headstrap from somewhere like BoboVR or Kiwi Design (the official Meta elite straps are known for having issues)
Otherwise it’s been very good. Note that the 3S has a limited IPD adjustment, so it might not fit your eyes depending on your IPD.
The quest 3s it’s the best oculus I’ve personally owned
how is it? I want to order
@ the design is a little bit like the quest two but it is way more faster and has more storage im pretty sure and the controllers are different
@@TylinTheGamer thx bro
It looks like, based on your review, that if you have a Q3 there's no good reason to go with the Q3S.
100%. The Quest 3S is the new entry model for Meta's headsets and is a great upgrade from the Quest 2. But is missing some of the premium features from the Quest 3, like the pancake lenses, wider field of view, higher resolution screen, and more.
W man's for reading the Bible
Given you have all 4, which one do you reach for when playing?
Quest 3 every time. It's hands down the best headset, but it's also the most expensive. And not everyone needs the best of the best. Plenty of people will be more than happy with the 3S and the extra cash in their pocket :)
I did get a 3s only just for new controllers lol
The 3 is a peace of paper
I just got the meta q3s I don't like the lens really should I return n get the meta q3 idk what should I do help
totally fair!
@ update I kept the meta q3s n I luv it n got use 2 the lens
Quick question why does my screen go black but there still a circle of the me still playing the game how can i fix this?
Hi sukses selalu untuk kita semua
Copy and Paste Action or Environmental Recording Action Buttons or a play my playlist on shuffle 🔀 action button!
Quest 3 much better
@@TechisodeTV I see. I may just get the 3 then. Thanks.
3s also doesn’t have enough storage at 128gb. In 2 weeks of using the Meta , I’m already at 100gb usage. Get the 3. You will regret having to delete games and to install games to make space just because you wanted to save 200 bucks.
For casual use, 3S is the way to go. For this purpose they'll be virtually identical.
If you have the 3s just wait for the 4 to come out to upgrade
Minimum year and a half wait.
I'm only 1/3 of the way in and he seems to be comparing th 3s more to the 2 than the 3...obviously it's way better...I really want to know why the 3s is better than the 3, most I've read seems like the 3 is superior
the quest 3 is better, but more expensive. the 3 is slimmer, has better lens and resolution, battery, and have an head fone jack
The 3S is NOT better than the 3.
3S has less pixels, less resolution, lower FOV than the Quest 3, and doesn't have Pancake Lenses.
Not to forget mention the 3S also doesn't have a headphone jack,
the only reason people say it's better is because of the price which isn't really that much less than the 3... You can get a 3s for as low as $299 and a 3 for as low as $379, it's just 80 dollars
I'm pretty sure the S stands for Slim
(funnily enough it's actually bigger than the quest 3, adding more weight to it)
The q3 is the best standalone by far. Pancake lens are soooo much better
Huge differences had both and the 3s is so much better
@vandell2171 then I would go with the 3s it has color pass through like the 2 but the 2 is in black and white also the 3s is just overall faster and gets better performance has a better battery life
@vandell2171 if u don't care about some of the stuff I mentioned, pcvr is overall OK on the quest 2, but it doesn't have shadows and
will have more lag and will get a slower internet connection, but if you want a more advanced gaming headset for pcvr, I would choose the 3s because it has the same chip and components as the 3.

@@Draconiangem it is not recommended in general to use Bluetooth because the latency would be too high. There are some exceptions, but it is much better to use a wired headphone for gaming.

Meat quest 3 sounds the best
For sure. The 3 is hands down the best experience, but also the most expensive.
At 4:30 .... that jello effect you see viewing text on your phone is EXACTLY what I see on the top tier Quest 3. Why?
Check for an update. I'm on version 72. You'll still see occasional wobble, but nothing like the severe warping in my original Quest 3 review.
Why not just include the Quest pro in this comparison video?
No one really wants the quest pro
The Quest Pro has been discontinued and will only sell until there are no more units available. I also already did a deep dive review comparing the Pro to the 3.
I thought about including the Pro anyway, but it would have added about 10 minutes to the video without much value. That's why I reference the Pro video at the end of this video instead.
In short, the Pro is only good for PCVR and the 3 is better by a solid margin for standalone VR use. And I strongly recommend that people don't buy the Pro because a Pro 2 is rumored to be released in 2025 :)
I hope that helps! :)
@@TechisodeTV Understandable, thanks for the videos I'm all caught up now :D

Only Q3 for me. If you itemize it, you get quite a lot more for that $200.
If you have a job there is no excuse for buying the 3s. Just save for another month or two for the Q3.
Only way I would get a 3s is if I was a kid without a job that had to save for 6 months just to get $300.
I don't believe in the "my first vr headset" nonsense either. Those people always spend more in the long run.
the only real difference is the lenses and it is not really worth the extra money for a lot of people.
Bros hairline got took back to 1867💀💀😭😭😭
Glory to Jesus Christ

Lol maybe try buying games that don't do that? There's tons of them. And you can just play modded beat saber for free songs. Tons of people do it
I've literally bought every single game I have on sale for like 5 bucks. I've gotten big games for free.
I don't care about buying new songs so that helps too.
This guy's review is garbage. 3s is garbage. The quest 3 is the money.
No it is not garbage I have one myself and it’s amazing
Been back and forth between the 3 and 3s lol so go for 3?
I don't think there was a question of if the Quest 3 was better than the 3S. That's not the subject of this video.
3s is 10x better than 2 still.
