I have my Dad's 1400 22 caliber pellet pump (he pasted in 1975) and my husband wants to use it with our grandsons. After he watched your video and tried oiling and the alcohol overnight. Nothing seems to work. He gets no pumping action. Do you repair these pellet guns? We'd be interested in sending it to you and have you do a complete overhaul and test. Please respond, thanks!
iam sorry but i doptn repair pellet guns for anyone anymore i just keep my own collection up and running also your talking about a vintage pellet gun and for that ebay might have the parts maybe, crosman wont have anything anymore for that gun and they guys i used to deal with for parts are eitehr passed away or like me retired from repairing for other people alot of it is due to hard to find parts and of course costs of shipping and parts cost if you can find them as well as the labour..if you cna find the parts you can get the diagrams from crosman and do it your self most crosman guns are really eaisy to work on
Hello, great video, I had a question that perhaps you can answer. I have a crosman P1377 and everything seems to be working well, recently upgraded it with a flat piston and valve set up along with a larger port. Yet, there seems to be lubricant leakage in between the barrel and valve housing that I can see on both sides after use. Where it is leaking at is close to the the transfer port, a little forward of it. Any idea where it could be coming from? I assume the transfer port, but not certain. Is this normal? Suggestions? Anyway, thank you very much in advance!
there are no problems shooting the 1322 or the 1377c in cold winter weather, co2 guns on the other hand lose upto 100 fps or more, and springer guns run eratic so a pumper is the best choice for cold weather and winter shooting
i have a 1377 from 1979 and i just replaced all of the seals in it and when i pump it it will put air in it but when a pull back to put more air in it (backstroke) the air leeks out of the air chamber and i lose all of the air pressure. any tips?
Thanks for the video great help. Question.. I have 2 of the 766 rifles. I was able to get one of the air chamber Sparta to replace the o ring and such. I have one air chamber that I am having issues getting it apart. Any suggestions?
I have a 70's vintage 760 and a newer, single pump 781. Both make an exhaling type of noise from the receiver after pumping. Can I re-seal without disturbing the trigger assemblies? I worry about forgetting how they go together since my eyes are not as good as they used to be.
+john robert you can try just putting in a new pump cup but if that does not fix it then you will have to take the entire gun apart and all new seals will need to go in , if the air is coming out of just the reciever then yup reseal time for sure.. if you can not do this your self then send it to alan at abairgun.com he works on older and new crosman guns
I have a question, my 1377 (converted to 22cal.) makes a farting noise when pumped without being cocked first and does not make the same noise if it is already cocked before pumping. What's your take on this?
another question if dont mind installing ft piston n valve, on valve i lube o ring and do i put 2 drops pelletgunoil down the ft hole that the piston meets up with? sry im noob thnx
Not sure if questions still being answered. I have a fairly new 1377. I put some mineral oil past the pump cup in to the lower cylinder. It acted like I put sand in there. I followed with some 3&1 oil and worked it for months. Finally got it to pump ok (still not like when new) and I bought Gamo oil and added a drop inside that barrel. Back to being VERY hard to pump. Should I take apart and clean?
well here is the store you really messed itup so your fix is to take it all apart order in a new valve all new seals and never use that crap in the gun again ever.. you can use either SAE 30 wt non detergnet motor oil wich is the best out of anything out there or crossman pellgun oil thats all i would ever get near any pelltgun
I have an Older 760 Brass Valve. I am having a problem. Not holding air before and after replacing the all the o-rings. Mine was pretty dirty inside so I don't think it was ever taken apart before. It holds some air for a few seconds if I pump it up quickly it will fire. I can hear the air escaping the end of the barrel. There are not many videos of these older 760's. thank you for posting yours.
My brass part has a nick on the end opposite of the o-ring where the black cylinder's indention stops the brass. The brass is nicked just a little so that the brass might scratch the black cylinder. Can this scratch a groove that would cause leaks? Not sure if I should order the black cylinder that goes around the brass.
You mentioned rebuilding the valve stem. I have a 1978 crosman 760 and I think the valve stem is leaking. Is there just an o-ring on it, that needs to be replaced? Or is it more involved than just putting an o-ring on it? Is there any videos on how to rebuild the valve stem?
there is orings yes you need to email a pick of the valve to abairgun and he will sell you the proper rebuilt kit while your add it get a new breech oring as well as a pump cump as well which he will ned to see what you have to sell you the correct parts 760s have gone threw several changes over the years
I had a pellet stuck and when I got it out it will only shoot a bb if i fire it quickly after pumping it and I think I can throw the bb harder than it comes out of the barrel. It is an old 1377 I had when I was 18 and I'm 46 now. I found it in my parent's closet after they moved out. (Always wondered what happened to it). Anyway it worked fine until the pellet. After the 5 minute test it holds fine.
get a new valve new TP oring and new pump cup and it should be 100% again just like new see abairgun.com make sure to let him know the version you have there were a few of them over the years
Is a 760 cup always soft rubber? (Mine is hard plastic. I'm not sure why it would ever need replacing because it doesn't seem like it needs to seal with it being plastic.)
should have some softness to it but other wise somewhat stiff the cup is rubber and it will dry up and shrink over time so needs to be replaced time to time
I have a 3rd variant model 140 pump gun. I got it cheap because it is in rough condition and it wouldn't pump up. I put about a teaspoon if 91% alcohol in the pump mechanism and I let it sit for a day. The n I dumped the a alcohol out and I put some Air compressor oil in the pump . Now it pumps up again. The first few shots some black gunk came out the barrel. It was shooting kind of weak st first but seems to be getting stronger. The front sight was a bent piece of metal that is now mostly broken off. What are my options for repairing or replacing the front sight?
well its time for a proper rebuild kit and that gun is the rubber that now getting eaten and comming otu the barrel your doing to need a complete tear down and clean the craop out of the barrel its now all gooie inside there ..
@@KevinMillard68 Yep, I would expect that from a 60 year old pump up rifle. I am surprised that it's doing as well as it is. I think I can get rebuild kits off EBay for not much money. I have four pumpers and five gasers. I guess it's about time I tore into one and see what's involved in a reseal job Thanks for your response.
hey Kevin I have a nos 760 powermaster third variant that does not pump up .The pump cup holds up pretty good and I have new o rings for the valve . what I don't know is how to change the inner o ring inside the valve cap can you help ?
hey Kevin I'm sorry I should have been more descriptive .the o ring I am inquiring is also called the quad ring part no. 140-057 inside the exhaust valve I don't know how to remove it or install it can you help?
Hi. Thanx for your vid. Very informative. I have replaced my cup and my valve in my 1377 pistol American Classic . It's still not taking air. I did your cup test and it's not at a 90° like yours. Should I send my new cup and valve back? Im actually stumped. Not sure whats going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ty.
did you replace the valve stem in the valve and keep the parts in there that you have done so far you should still have older parts that are bad sometimes its all goes down at once but you do have the have the right pumpcup size for your version of the gun there are 3 sizes total and if your fixing a really old one and you ordered new parts from crosman them self's then you likely will have the new cup version not the sold so for that you might need to contact and alternate dealer for parts or check ebay for the rebuild kits for the older guns
@@KevinMillard68 thanks. I did contact the parts dealer, he's out of Al. he said I could send the parts back but I think I'm going to take a look at the original brass valve. I would like to keep it. They seem to be better from what I've seen in other vids. and I like the way it's design is with the pointed end valve instead of the flattened aluminium pointed one. They say the brass ones are more efficient. Can I take the aluminium valves stem out and put it in the brass one? What actually goes wrong with the stem? I looked at them and don't see any visual problems of defects. Btw I've had this gun since 91'. I took it all apart and re-blued all the parts. Looks good. I have another valve seal coming soon. I think I can get it like new again if I keep plucking away at it. I just had some unanswered questions I'm curious about is all. I thank you much for your insight. I'll keep in touch with the progress.
Hi Kevin. Great video. I've developed a problem with my Crosman 1377 which is totally standard. I tried to pump it up earlier but when pumping there is no resistance and no air being pumped in. Do you have any ideas? Thanks James
more then likely the pump cup is shot if your going to replace it might as well replace or rebuild the valve while you have it apart then you will be fine for several years of more fun before needing to do it again
kevin, my 81 year old friend handed me his Crossman airmaster 77 and complained that it wouldn't pump up. I offered to look at it and found no visable parts from the pump clevis down and could not shake any parts loose from whatever you would call the actual pump cavity or valve. there appears to be some sort of pump connection linkage that is totally absent. Is there away to locate the parts on some sort of diagrams and order the parts? I appreciate what you are doing here!
Kevy, well I replaced the o-rings and cups on my 761xl and 1377C. The 1377 is only giving me 500 fps (better than the 0 fps before) and the 761xl expels its air thru the breech after 3 pumps. Any thoughts on either? I did not replace either inner exhaust valve rings....would that do it? Thanks Kevy!!!
wow, great find for me! my crosman 760 i had since i was a kid 50+ yrs ago - now not firing the 177 pellet but fires the bb. any advice? the gun been sitting for years not i shooting it.
I have a old crosman 2100 Classic that was bought new. It stopped pumping so I replaced the seals and valve. Everything seemed to be good. Pumps up and fires great. Now the bb's are rolling out of the barrel. Any advice on how to fix it? Thank you.
@@KevinMillard68, thank you for your reply. Do you have a photo or part number that I can look up. I don't know the technical name of those parts are or what they look like.
depends on the gun but more the likey yes just look up the part number on a diagram for that gun and if this is a crosman gun then look up the number in their parts area on the webside and if its there then you can get it failing that EBAY or check the airgun forums loads of people have parts
I have an old model with the pull back cocking spring and the rotating breach. It has the brass valve stem. How do I rebuild it? Thanks. Great trouble shooting video.
well if my self or my buddy was still i into rebuilding valve stems then we could have done it but all things someday must end so you will need to order in one of the new style valve stems and oring kits for rebuilds now
@@KevinMillard68 Wow. Thanks for the fast reply. Hope I can pick your brain a little. I did rebuild it with the new o rings and a new type valve stem. Pumps up great. If I leave it for awhile pumped it will leak down over a hour or so. Sometimes less.
@@tpctrash sounds like you migth have a sligh leake in the stem make sure to oil the cup every 50 to 100 shots so you can push some oil into the valve to lube things up and it should seal after some time of shooting if it does not then the valve seat might be worn a bit
Hey and Hello! I seem to have the opposite problem of most other people, my 1377 actually holds air instead of loosing air! What I mean is, after pumping it up and shooting it, I can reload another 'round' without pumping it and it will still shoot again! I feel like it should be expelling all of the air in the chamber when it is shot. I have upgraded to a steel breech, added a heavier hammer spring, and a lighter trigger spring. Also, I like to shoot Gamo lead BB's, because of the problem with the steel breech screw hold making it harder to load a pellet easily. I doubt that would be the problem, but thought I would mention it, JIC. The Gamo lead BB's stay in the chamber and don't roll down the barrel like in my 880. I can't remember if I had this problem before doing the mods, and if this is a common thing with the 13XX's. I'm wonder what you think the problem might be, can't seem to find anything on this issue. Thanks!
if your pumping more then 10 times it will not always expelle all the air but if your only at 10 then it will before and haftre a heavey hammer spring would be no different the strionger spring should dump atleast 12 pumpos but more then that usually not
I found some Gamo .218 round balls and they shoot ok in my Gamo but they drop down the muzzle and that can't be good for accuracy. I found some ,220s on E-bay. They still drop into the muzzle of my Gamo but won't chamber. That is really odd. The .220s shoot great out of my 1322. I am trying the .220s in my other guns. I have an early Crossman rifle that they won't chamber in. I have several more guns to try yet. I hope to find a rifle and pistol that will shoot round balls accurately and buy or make a mold so I can cast my own balls. Ballistic Products sells .218 and .219 lead balls in 8 pound jugs. They may have other sizes as well. They are hard lead but seem to shoot well and penetrate deeper than pellets. I would like to hear about your experiences shooting round balls. Thanks for posting.
gun is 1377 pc77 classic i bought a crosman steel breech for it could it be breech was installed cocked and its firing kinda backwards?, ye its frustrating you think a local gun shop can help if i cant solve it?
I’ve got a 1969 crosman 760 power master that is burping air as you pump it,it’s also self cocking, got the rebuild kit from eBay everything put back new ,but the exhaust valve capos inop because it was destroyed when taking out.the new exhaust valve inner seal will not seal because the brass cap was torn up getting it out,is there a replacement for this or do I have to wish and hope I find a new valve cap assembly.
i have a benjamin392 that takes one pump good then any pump after that seems like the pressure builds up in pump tube and kinda throws pump handle back open.
Anthony Cormier.... Sounds like you have either a full or partial blockage in the transfer port between the compression tube and the valve. Have you owned your 392 very long, or just got it, or ???.... Is it something that just started recently after owning it for a period of time and shooting it... or did you just recently purchase it, and you noticed it the first time you went to pump it up ??.... it's hard to say without knowing the answers to those questions. If you answer back... I will answer back... if I get notice in my email that you responded back to this.
2Stroke Diesel Power its an older 392 i bought from pawn shop. the valve is soldered in tube, i bought repair kit and put all new stuff now first pump is good and after second pump when i open arm to get more air i here a hiss. i can pump to 8 times guickly and pumping seems to never get harder.
hi....love your vidz.... would the 1377c perform well in cold winter temps?... what are your thoughts on using the 1377c and 1322 outside in the cold winter?...
Gday was wondering if it’s possible to rebuild valve stem I’m in Australia and can’t get parts was wondering if I can go to my oring shop to get ones that match the valve stem one
silkicone oil in pellet guns is only to be used ion spring and nitro power airguns,. all others you use pellgun oil or sae 30 non detergent which us the top best ever, and there are a few others but i dont know the names off hand
@@KevinMillard68 Do you know why silicone oil is "wrong" ? Its an O ring seal against metal... buna O rings which is exactly how paintball guns work. Just curious it seems odd. PS: HOW THE HECK DO YOU FIND NON DETERGENT MOTOR OIL!?!?! Go back in a time machine to the 70s? ; )
I have a 2200,and due to medical problems I haven't used I for 3 years, it a bit rusty but when you pull the forarm down to pump it doesn't pick up the lever to the Reservoir so it just swing's off the ballbearing and doesn't pump.can it be sorted thanks I live in the UK but apreseate your advice. Hello there very nice video, i have a crosman 397 and after 2 years in every pump after the first one i hear air escape through the barel and it won't pump. I saw another video and i droped some pellgun oil i the airhole, and i saw some improvement, any suggestions? Thank you
I'm trying to figure out if the part the pump cup snaps into comes off, my model 1377 .177 caliber has the pump up the steel cylinder that attaches to there's a space where there's a 1/2 inch piece of felt type of material, this about peace was all tore up on mine in which I'm trying to replace if possible
I have a 1976 Crosman 761 gold powermaster XL, and when I pump it, the trigger goes off after several pumps. Also doesn't have much power, too easy to pump. Can you help me please? I found it at the dump in the original box with receipt, and owners manual and would like to fix it. thanks for any help. Randy
I have a old pumpmaster 760 from crosman and it has been acting up as of today. I pump it and it is easy and no air goes in unless i do it fast but when i lift it up like you did in the video it stayed up for 5 mins?
I've got one more question. What do you think caused my gun to fail? It's fairly new. I was shooting these pile driver rounds about 20 shots. They weigh about 32 gn. On the container it says for pcp guns only. I've also deiseled a total of about 15 times
deiseling it can do it just he pellets alone wont do anything to it ihave shot those pile drivers my self never had a problem but when you deisel and airgun your asking for trouble
Hi Kevin, i have a crosman 2100 the pump is woeking fine but when i try to put the bb on tje chamber the cook mecanism is not working, before it ise to have presure when pulling the chamber back now it has no pressure what can i do? Thank you so Much
star with a vale rebuild or replacment also you have to take it apart to find out why its not working i cant tell you why its not cocking the gun its not in front of me so you need to take it apart crosman has the diagrams so you can indentify the parts and how to put the gun back together again
in theroy you can but as soone as the sear lets go it will fire sounds to me like the safty is on try taking off the safty and fire the gun i have never heard of this problem happening ever.
The safty is not on. The trigger pulls and will not when the safty is on. It seems the trigger is not releasing the air. Can I take the gun apart without releasing the air?
great video.... i have a G1 Extreme and having a problem trying to pump it. it pumps down stiff but comes up half way stiff.. Normally once i cock it down it is not spring loaded back up. it doesn't stay down as before... what can i do to make it fire again... thanks
its a break barrel air rifle its not a pump up gun and the barrel should be some what stiff when coming back up if it were loose then you would never hit the target it also needs break in time and that can take from 400 to 1000 pellets for that to happen before it settles in
It doesn't fire any more, but was working great a year ago. When I put a pellet in to fire, there is no response. .. at one point I thought it was a spring not engaging the break of the barrel. . Any insight will be greatly appreciated
if its the old old one then its the back of the valve there is an innner seal in the cap thats shot you need to get hold of alan at abairgun.com for parts
He says its at least 30 years old - he messed with it the other day and moved the safety on and off and it seems ok now? He thinks something to do with the trigger and the safety like crud or dirt in there. He said he will just make sure the safety is on and all before loading it. thanks for the link!
My old ('81) 1377 started to leak so I bought a new 1377 and switched pump cups! The odd thing is the old pump cup worked just fine in the newer pistol and does not leak.I ordered a new pump cup to have on hand as a precaution.
I have a 1377 from 2014/15 I crony myself when purchase and for a mouse and rat issue I had and I was getting mid to high 500 fps. Now with presently being home I thought I'd renew my foundnes for multi pump and found a drastically lower power output. I crony and am presently getting low 400 fps. What do you recommend for getting my little one up and running again. Anything would help
have you oiled the pump cup with a drop or 2 of oil before using the gun ,, you can use pellgun oil or the only motor oil you can safly use is SAE 30 NON Detergent motor oil try that and get back to me every 300 shots that pumpcup need to be oiled but onlu 1 to 2 drops only it does not take alot if you use to much then you get other problems over time
Lord I hope folks still pay attention to these old posts. I have a crossman 2200 magnum that the barrel shroud pulls out when you go to pump the rifle. I can pull it 1'4" forward just by grabbing and pulling with light pressure. what causes that and is it correctable?
if it was infront of me i could help you out but i have not had one apart in years now , best advice download the print from the crosman website and that can help you..
after getting it apart, it seems that the front sight screw went into a barrel bushing or weight and pinned the barrel shroud in place. the kids removed that when they mounted an optic and I guess it worked loose over time. its a first run model between 78-82, chrome body and barrel band. it doesn't have all the parts listed on the 83 and up models.
no can do but i can explain it open then pump youll see the pump cup put a drop or 2 of pellet gun oil or sae 30 nondetergent motor oil inbehind the cup and on the link area of the pump handel where the pin is that holds the pump handel onto the gun thats all there is to it. and happy shooting
I have an older "Pump Master" 760 all metal, wood stock, wont pump up unless I put plenty of oil in it so I figured I would replace all seals and pump cup but seems like I cant find the right ones can you suggest a place to order them or can I possibly get them from you
james wallace email wont work well for you , you have to call him his website tell you what time of day you can call and in his time zone dealt with him for years and even he alway told me best to call him he get over backup with emails all the time
Rann Rudisill well a few things can be wrong 1 valve stem seal is groved to deep 2 weak hammer spring 3 valve return spring is jammed up from years of gunk inside and cant compress properly 4 you are over pumping the gun 5 moded valves dont always dump all the air
Thanks for this advice! My 392 is just months old, with no mods. It has never been *knowingly* overpumped (more than 8x), and have tried to lube sparringly and only when appropriate. Then the other day I noticed that the rifle sure was getting harder to pump than I remembered! After firing a round I recocked & refired another pellet with no additional pumping! (I recocked & retested again, but the air was finally drained.) Given your suggestions, I suspect #3 might be most likely. I really need to get better at doing my own airgun smithing...
Hi Kevin. Awhile back, the pump arm on my 2100 classic started just sliding thru the pump stroke. I figured it was the pump cup, & came across your vid to help try'n determine if this was the case. Well, I'm not sure, but... have you ever had a pump cup separate from the 'push bar' (correct term?), with the pump cup seemingly still in the pump chamber (correct term?) ?? If so, which vid would I check out to see if this is the case. Was planning on ordering a small repair kit, off ebay... yet, now... not sure what I'll need. Thank you kindly. Peace !
My new legacy 1000 crosman shot great for about 40 times. After that I can pull the trigger and it does not fire. It has a bb in the camber and the safety is not on. The trigger pulls back. It pumps up and does not hiss. What could it be?
Sir Kevin, my sincere congratulations for this video .... your videos are extremely well done and clearly understandable from the purely technical side. My warmest respects and a fraternal hug from Italy ciao Fabio
a few years ago I did a freexer test and froze a 2240 1377 and a spring rifle the springer was all over the place in fps the co2 gun the 2240 lost over 110 fps and the 1377 pumper was only affected for the first shot it has a like maybe a 20 fps drop all shots after that were consistante and upto speed as it was supposed to run,

take it apart clean everything up with rubbbg alchol relube with sae30 non deturgent motor oil or pellgun oil hope for the best if that fails then get all new seals new valve stem and new pump cup and trafer port oring and that will fix the problem and never do that again .. also never use firearm oils near airguns either

Kevy....Great video, just what I was looking for--thanks much! I have a Crosman 761XL Powermaster (SN 176049912) from my early years that does exactly what you describe--the pump handle falls freely all the way down, so I need O-rings and a new cup. O-rings are easy....the cup seems hard to find for a 761XL. I also have a Crosman 1377 American Classic (SN 379013568) that exhibits the very same symptoms. It appears to me that the 760, 761XL and 1377 all share the same O-rings and pump cups--is this correct? I can't wait to restore these two air guns! Thanks in advance, and again, thanks for sharing your expertise! Dan
My 1322 seems to have trouble firing. I'll pump it up. Cock the bolt. You hear the hammer release and slide forward.... and nothing... any suggestions?
Hi. My brand new 1377 is so hard to pump up. After 3 - 4 pumps the thing is so hard to pump up?! I sprayed some wd40 on the cup, but that did nothing, maybe made it worse in fact.
you need a whole new valve seal kit with a valve stem new trasfer port oring new bolt prob oring as well as a new pump cup WD40 Eats Seals , never use any oil other then SAE 30 Non Detergent motor oil or crosman pellgun oil other wise your asking for problems
@@KevinMillard68 I sprayed a tiny bit wd40 on it yesterday, I'll try to take it apart today and clean it, and go and buy some pellgun oil. Hopefully it won't have done damage in such short time. But I found it strange to be so hard to pump right out of the box?
@@knallpistol they are stuff to pump up but with out having your gun in my hands to know just how it was i cant really tell you much likely its to late but to get the wd off of it youll have to take everythig apart and clean it all up with soap and hot water then let air dry ,, wd40 is a penatrator its not a lube and it will eat rubber seals and all kind of other stuff cross your fingers let me know how you make out with the clean up
probley needs just a new pump cup how ever id buy a new cup and complete valve cost you about 20.00 for the parts from abairgun.com so i say fix it and shoot the hell out of it more
interesting never heard of that happening try taking the grips off and shoot the gun if it fires then someone did not do sear spring cutouts on your grips that might stop it but i doubt it, other then that you got me, the gun is not in front of me so i got no idea whats happening.could be you gota breech with the small screw to the back and you forgot to install the new hammer design to work with that breech that will stop your gun from firing for sure
I chrono tested my 1377 with ten pump and find that if I shot it immediately it read 540fps (normal); pump up and wait 30 second then it drop to 510fps; wait 1 minute it drop to 480fps. Is it have a leakage problem ?
@@raytam6227 yup do a new pump cup while your at it as well keep the old one for an emergency spare also a new transfer port oring as well should be done
I have never blown any seals in a co2 gun in cold weather hot weather yes the crosman 357 and the 38's don't do well in 30c weather if left on a table but general shooting is fine in hot weather for any airgun just don't leave a co2 gun in out in direct sunlight or the seals will blow, , and your right about 3 secs between each shot for the co2 to recover, more so if you have a power modded co2 gun
I have a brand new crosman 2100. I love it. In the process of choosing a yardage for my zero. Currently, zeroed at 14 and 30 yards respectively. It's pretty accurate . Now I have really been getting the fever for these airguns. I downloaded the hawke chairgun pro on my iPhone and have been getting into the pellet trajectories. Really cool stuff and it actually works. I don't have a chronograph so I found chrono connect app on my phone. Now I'm a little worried as I was getting an average of 380 Fps at 10 pumps. I have ran just over 1000 shots. I have used pellgunoil about 5 drops in total since I purchased this rifle, above the pump cup. I really hope that this chrono app is off. I used it within a working space of 17 feet. Is this even possible to only have 380 with 10 pumps? A little help here please. Owned this brand new rifle for 1 month and half through Amazon. I've been using crosman premier domed heavies. 10.5 grain. I also have h&n barracuda greens. They shoot faster and have read 400 on the Chrono connect app so I can see the difference between the pellets. I have crosman wadcutters and crosman premeir 7.9 lights as well. Still alarmed with this low fps. I thought I would get up to 620 fps at least. Last night was my first trial using this Chrono connect app. Hopefully I am just using it wrong. Maybe I will try one of my bb guns and see what kind of readings I get. Maybe I should just cough up $100 dollars and get a real chrono i dont know. But I am concerned about my beautiful crosman 2100. Any help would be appreciated
ok test time is over i just checked the gun and it still had well over half the air left basic guess fired the gun and still loads of snap to it,it did lose some air and i expected that to happen ,ill run another test for a 2 week time fram so today is nov 11 so will goto nov 25th so remind me again to get back to you on the 25th sound good ..
ok I ended this test 2 days early I had to but what I did was put it over the chrony and it only lost about 10 fps over 2 weeks so test one had me curious, iam going to do further testing down the road once I do ill make a new video with results. so for now ill state that if all your seals are good, you can keep it pumped up for along time and show very little drop in fps you wont do any damage but why leave it pumped up for such along time would be my question,
i have never dont an auctual timed test but i see no reason why it can not hold air for extreamly long times tell you what ill pump mine up to full power and let it sit for say a week and then get back to you to let you know, how its doing , i do know i always store it with 1 pump all the time and never lost air even after 2 weeks so lets test it for a week at full valve capasity il get back to this next sunday and let you know ok sound good, email me next sunday on here to remind me..to answer
Any suggestions?
very hard to tell you anything with out it in front of me just keep trying is all
I have a 70's vintage 760 and a newer, single pump 781.
Kevy knows ALL about airguns!!! His vids have helped me enormously through the years...
thanks man and happy to have been of help
I have a question, my 1377 (converted to 22cal.) makes a farting noise when pumped without being cocked first and does not make the same noise if it is already cocked before pumping. What's your take on this?
Hi, can you still get the brass valve's for the crosman 760?
not unless abairgun still has some
another question if dont mind installing ft piston n valve, on valve i lube o ring and do i put 2 drops pelletgunoil down the ft hole that the piston meets up with? sry im noob thnx
There are not many videos of these older 760's. thank you for posting yours.
you must have the old dump valve system parts are very hard to get for thoes suckers but you can moderenize anything
My brass part has a nick on the end opposite of the o-ring where the black cylinder's indention stops the brass. The brass is nicked just a little so that the brass might scratch the black cylinder. Can this scratch a groove that would cause leaks? Not sure if I should order the black cylinder that goes around the brass.
its should be but if yor worred order in the parts you think youll need
you wont get a drop in fps on pump up guns in cold weather so no problem there, your supposed to lube it more often then every 2000 shots by the way.
After the 5 minute test it holds fine.
get a new valve new TP oring and new pump cup and it should be 100% again just like new see abairgun.com make sure to let him know the version you have there were a few of them over the years
Thank you for the reply. Very helpful information and I cant wait to get her running again. :)

The n I dumped the a alcohol out and I put some
Air compressor oil in the pump .
I guess it's about time I tore into one and see what's involved in a reseal job
Thanks for your response.
do you do any repairs on the Crosman Legacy 1000 rifles? Mines 3 days new, pumps up well but no BBs will shoot out of the rifle
take it back for a new one its under warranty
hey Kevin I have a nos 760 powermaster third variant that does not pump up .The pump cup holds up pretty good and I have new o rings for the valve . what I don't know is how to change the inner o ring inside the valve cap can you help ?
take the valve out inscrew it and change it and while your in there might as well do the valve stem as well then you know your solid and good to go
hey Kevin I'm sorry I should have been more descriptive .the o ring I am inquiring is also called the quad ring part no. 140-057 inside the exhaust valve I don't know how to remove it or install it can you help?
Does the crossman model 66 use the same pump cup as the 760???
thanks!
yes it does
Mike Hair crosman.com for prints and you can order parts from any repair depo for crosman i deal with abairgun.com for my parts
Thanks Kevy!!!
that could do it yes the 761 xl sounds like valve stem
Thanks again! I guess I have to order more parts! Oy....

wow, great find for me! my crosman 760 i had since i was a kid 50+ yrs ago - now not firing the 177 pellet but fires the bb. any advice? the gun been sitting for years not i shooting it.
replace all the seals in the valve and the pump cup and youll be good as new again
copy that o-rings replace - #9 o-ring from amazon in a kit of 20 different sizes cover all my bases to rebuild the 760?
I have a old crosman 2100 Classic that was bought new. It stopped pumping so I replaced the seals and valve. Everything seemed to be good. Pumps up and fires great. Now the bb's are rolling out of the barrel. Any advice on how to fix it? Thank you.
check and see of the magnet pin is still on the bolt probe if not then get a new bolt assembly
@@KevinMillard68, thank you for your reply. Do you have a photo or part number that I can look up. I don't know the technical name of those parts are or what they look like.
Hello. Great video. The plastic piece on end of barrel is split in half. Can I get that piece?
depends on the gun but more the likey yes just look up the part number on a diagram for that gun and if this is a crosman gun then look up the number in their parts area on the webside and if its there then you can get it failing that EBAY or check the airgun forums loads of people have parts
I have an old model with the pull back cocking spring and the rotating breach. It has the brass valve stem.
How do I rebuild it?
Thanks. Great trouble shooting video.
well if my self or my buddy was still i into rebuilding valve stems then we could have done it but all things someday must end so you will need to order in one of the new style valve stems and oring kits for rebuilds now
@@KevinMillard68
Wow.
@@KevinMillard68 thank you so much for the advice. I’ll let you know how it goes.
They still drop into the muzzle of my
Gamo but won't chamber.
I'm curious. Where do you buy parts for your repairs?
abairgun.com
I’ve got a 1969 crosman 760 power master that is burping air as you pump it,it’s also self cocking, got the rebuild kit from eBay everything put back new ,but the exhaust valve capos inop because it was destroyed when taking out.the new exhaust valve inner seal will not seal because the brass cap was torn up getting it out,is there a replacement for this or do I have to wish and hope I find a new valve cap assembly.
contact alan at abairgun.com for the parts you need
i have a benjamin392 that takes one pump good then any pump after that seems like the pressure builds up in pump tube and kinda throws pump handle back open.
sorry man i dont know anything about benjamin392 airguns
I used mine in -22 weather today
I have a legacy 1000 someone had a great idea to put we down the barrel is there any saving it without new seals or valve
take it apart clean it all up and get all new seals and start over and only use pelltgun oil or SAE 30 Non Detergent Motor oil
@@KevinMillard68 I took it apart and the pressure valve assembly seems to be kind of frozen in place didn't want to force it may just buy a new one
Gday was wondering if it’s possible to rebuild valve stem I’m in Australia and can’t get parts was wondering if I can go to my oring shop to get ones that match the valve stem one
you can rebuild them yes i use to do it all the time when i had a machine shop
This is very similar to a "poppet" valve in paintball. Could you not just use silicone oil like a paintball gun?
silkicone oil in pellet guns is only to be used ion spring and nitro power airguns,. all others you use pellgun oil or sae 30 non detergent which us the top best ever, and there are a few others but i dont know the names off hand
Go back in a time machine to the 70s? ; )
I have a 2200,and due to medical problems I haven't used I for 3 years, it a bit rusty but when you pull the forarm down to pump it doesn't pick up the lever to the Reservoir so it just swing's off the ballbearing and doesn't pump.can it be sorted thanks

rebuild the valve and replace the pump cup
I'm trying to figure out if the part the pump cup snaps into comes off, my model 1377 .177 caliber has the pump up the steel cylinder that attaches to there's a space where there's a 1/2 inch piece of felt type of material, this about peace was all tore up on mine in which I'm trying to replace if possible
to remove the pump handel there is a pin you have to puch out
I have a 1976 Crosman 761 gold powermaster XL, and when I pump it, the trigger goes off after several pumps. Also doesn't have much power, too easy to pump. Can you help me please? I found it at the dump in the original box with receipt, and owners manual and would like to fix it. thanks for any help. Randy
its not the trigger its the valve cap what you have is called a dump valve see abairgun.com for parts for that gun
Thank you very much for your help.

Would a seal kit fix the problem or do I need a valve you mentioned?
get a new valve and set of seals unless you have the tools you wont be able to rebuild the end cap part of the valve
I have a old pumpmaster 760 from crosman and it has been acting up as of today.
I pump it and it is easy and no air goes in unless i do it fast but when i lift it up like you did in the video it stayed up for 5 mins?
if it stayed up then went down then you have a seal or valve stem problem or even pump cup problem , if all is good it wont go down even after 5 min
Kevys Rc & Music My fault should of been more specific, it stays up past 5 mins but when i go to pump it its easy and dont get air to shoot
thats something ihave never seen happen so ill say get a all new seals new cup and youll be good to go
Kevys Rc & Music Ok ty

I've got one more question. What do you think caused my gun to fail? It's fairly new. I was shooting these pile driver rounds about 20 shots. They weigh about 32 gn. On the container it says for pcp guns only. I've also deiseled a total of about 15 times
deiseling it can do it just he pellets alone wont do anything to it ihave shot those pile drivers my self never had a problem but when you deisel and airgun your asking for trouble
Thank you. Very insightful

What kind of problem did you have with the piledriver pellets?
personaly none but they do cut the power of your auirgun in half tho but still hit hard as hell they are best suited tho for pcp airguns
Some help please. Can I take this apart when the trigger does not release the air pressure?
in theroy you can but as soone as the sear lets go it will fire sounds to me like the safty is on try taking off the safty and fire the gun i have never heard of this problem happening ever.
When I put a pellet in to fire, there is no response. .. at one point I thought it was a spring not engaging the break of the barrel. . Any insight will be greatly appreciated
any thoughts on why the 760 would fire by itself after 3 or 4 pumps? best place to order from?
if its the old old one then its the back of the valve there is an innner seal in the cap thats shot you need to get hold of alan at abairgun.com for parts

Anything would help
have you oiled the pump cup with a drop or 2 of oil before using the gun ,, you can use pellgun oil or the only motor oil you can safly use is SAE 30 NON Detergent motor oil try that and get back to me every 300 shots that pumpcup need to be oiled but onlu 1 to 2 drops only it does not take alot if you use to much then you get other problems over time
Great video! Really helpful as I’m rebuilding a vintage 760
Glad it helped!
Lord I hope folks still pay attention to these old posts. I have a crossman 2200 magnum that the barrel shroud pulls out when you go to pump the rifle. I can pull it 1'4" forward just by grabbing and pulling with light pressure. what causes that and is it correctable?
if it was infront of me i could help you out but i have not had one apart in years now , best advice download the print from the crosman website and that can help you..
after getting it apart, it seems that the front sight screw went into a barrel bushing or weight and pinned the barrel shroud in place. the kids removed that when they mounted an optic and I guess it worked loose over time. its a first run model between 78-82, chrome body and barrel band. it doesn't have all the parts listed on the 83 and up models.
you only lube the outer orings or pump cup you dont put oil in the front no.
Nice Video. Do you know where I can find a new breach screw for my Crosman Power Master 760 1966 edition?
try a hardware store see if you can match somethng up if not check with alan at abairgun.com
Could u show me where to oil the pump cut on a crosman 760 for maintenance & other parts to oil?
no can do but i can explain it open then pump youll see the pump cup put a drop or 2 of pellet gun oil or sae 30 nondetergent motor oil inbehind the cup and on the link area of the pump handel where the pin is that holds the pump handel onto the gun thats all there is to it. and happy shooting

The other day I noticed (managed to figure out) that my 392 is retaining too much air after firing a pellet...? What's broken?
Rann Rudisill well a few things can be wrong
1 valve stem seal is groved to deep
2 weak hammer spring
3 valve return spring is jammed up from years of gunk inside and cant compress properly
4 you are over pumping the gun
5 moded valves dont always dump all the air
Thanks for this advice! My 392 is just months old, with no mods. It has never been *knowingly* overpumped (more than 8x), and have tried to lube sparringly and only when appropriate. Then the other day I noticed that the rifle sure was getting harder to pump than I remembered! After firing a round I recocked & refired another pellet with no additional pumping! (I recocked & retested again, but the air was finally drained.) Given your suggestions, I suspect #3 might be most likely. I really need to get better at doing my own airgun smithing...
Rann Rudisill its a learing process but its also alot of fun and learing to work on your own stuff saves you alot of money down the road
the cups are the same in the older and newer models except for the really old 1377s those are different a little bit
i have a Benjamin trailmaster np pistol with an awful trigger pull. anything to fix? I have to pull trigger just short of firing to hit target.
dont now anything about bengies really
Peace !
i have seen that happen i just poped ina new cup and it was fine again
Nice, sounds good. Thank you, sir.

Is it possible to get parts for a Crosman 140 22 cal it is very old. Looks like it's missing the pop off valve from watching your video
check with alan at abairgun.com if anyone has the parts he will have them .
My new legacy 1000 crosman shot great for about 40 times. After that I can pull the trigger and it does not fire. It has a bb in the camber and the safety is not on. The trigger pulls back. It pumps up and does not hiss. What could it be?
cock the gun just like the last 40 times each shot you have to cock it
I did
Sir Kevin,
my sincere congratulations for this video .... your videos are extremely well done and clearly understandable from the purely technical side. My warmest respects and a fraternal hug from Italy
ciao
Fabio
Many thanks!
Do you know anything about old 130 pistol .22?
Did rebuild but still weak!!!
i know parts are really hard to come by these days for all the older stuff , did you put in a new valve stem when you rebuilt it
I have a 1970’s CEO’s man 760 with the brass valve. When you pump I can hear air leaking. Is it the cap on the valve?
if air is pissing out the barrel then yes if not could be the pump cup or could be both
Kevys Rc & Music I just put a new pump cup on it. I don’t think it is coming out the barrel. I can hear air leak when I pump it.
@@mitchellfarms1001 could be a valve problem seeing as you put in a new pump cup then its the valve
get hold of alan at abairgun for parts
Kevys Rc & Music sounds like it is leaking where the barrel and piston tube meet.
@@mitchellfarms1001 that would be the valve
My 22 Remington pump action pellet rifle will not retain air anymore any idea how to fix it properly?
new valve and new pump cup
a few years ago I did a freexer test and froze a 2240 1377 and a spring rifle the springer was all over the place in fps the co2 gun the 2240 lost over 110 fps and the 1377 pumper was only affected for the first shot it has a like maybe a 20 fps drop all shots after that were consistante and upto speed as it was supposed to run,
I have a first variant 760 powermaster. it pumps up and holds air pressure but when I shoot it some of the air escapes through the breach area because I could feel the air in my face . any idea what the problem might be.
its not a problem its normal for that gun
I am glad it is not a problem thanks for the info. and your time

i have 2100 classic crossman, i accedently put "Blaster garage door lubricant" instead of oil. now its super hard to pump. and when i shoot it white smoke comes out of the barrel and not sure if bb even hits target doesn't go far it seems. please help
take it apart clean everything up with rubbbg alchol relube with sae30 non deturgent motor oil or pellgun oil hope for the best if that fails then get all new seals new valve stem and new pump cup and trafer port oring and that will fix the problem and never do that again .. also never use firearm oils near airguns either
thank you for fast response
i have a crosman 2200 magnum, the pump handle goes like 80% down when I aim the rifle up, what could it be? BTW the rifle won't shoot the pellets. I don't know anything about this
time for a rebuild of the valve and new pump cup for sure all new seals
Kevys Rc & Music does all that come in a kit all together or u have to buy them seperately
My son bought a used 760 and it works well, but is really hard to pump. He can barely pump it and hes 13. any ideas?
well the more you pump it the stiffer it gets to pump 10 pumps is max power per shot
@@KevinMillard68 thanks for the reply. But, it's very hard on the first pump. any idea why?
@@markthomas8528 fire the gun and start again to me it sounds like the gun is alreay pumped up how ever it is possible the white valve on the nose of the valve might also be stuck in shich case that can also attrubite to hard to pump on the first pump..
My crossman 1377 pump arm goes all the way back down ? WHAT SHOULD I DO?
order new pump cup and valve put in the cup first then try the gun if its good to go then your fine if not take it back apart and put in a ne valve order a second cup as well in case you nick the first and becarefull not to nick the outer oring on the valve use pellgun oil or sae 30 non detergent motor oil for lube
Dan
thanks happy you like the video
Still looking for the answer....It appears to me that the 760, 761XL and 1377 all share the same O-rings and pump cups--is this correct? Thanks!
for the most part yes they do
you gun seem very ease to pump I just got a 1322 and ist very hard to pump... its normal because is new or not PS am new to airgun hobby.
My 1322 seems to have trouble firing. I'll pump it up. Cock the bolt. You hear the hammer release and slide forward.... and nothing... any suggestions?
rebuild kit new valve new pump cup new TP port seal new bolt top oring as well and youll be 100% again
Thank you

I would think silicone spry would preserve rubber better.
nope and yes if it has petroleum distilents then dont use it if it does not have then your ok
@@knallpistol they are stuff to pump up but with out having your gun in my hands to know just how it was i cant really tell you much likely its to late but to get the wd off of it youll have to take everythig apart and clean it all up with soap and hot water then let air dry ,, wd40 is a penatrator its not a lube and it will eat rubber seals and all kind of other stuff cross your fingers let me know how you make out with the clean up
have crossman 760 pumpmaster. lift the pump arm and flops back down fully. Time for scrapyard?
probley needs just a new pump cup how ever id buy a new cup and complete valve cost you about 20.00 for the parts from abairgun.com so i say fix it and shoot the hell out of it more
Thanks

Durden Painting ii
interesting never heard of that happening try taking the grips off and shoot the gun if it fires then someone did not do sear spring cutouts on your grips that might stop it but i doubt it, other then that you got me, the gun is not in front of me so i got no idea whats happening.could be you gota breech with the small screw to the back and you forgot to install the new hammer design to work with that breech that will stop your gun from firing for sure
Do you still service crosman 1322?
no sorry i dont contact abairgun.com
also have Benjamin 1322 wonderful gun, little hard to pump past 5 times.
I chrono tested my 1377 with ten pump and find that if I shot it immediately it read 540fps (normal); pump up and wait 30 second then it drop to 510fps; wait 1 minute it drop to 480fps. Is it have a leakage problem ?
its possible that you have a slight leak in the valve stem
@@KevinMillard68 Then I should replace new O-rings and valve stem together?
@@raytam6227 yup do a new pump cup while your at it as well keep the old one for an emergency spare also a new transfer port oring as well should be done
@@KevinMillard68 Many thanks for your advice.

I have got a crosman130 and after 5 pumps it’s not shooting ?
cant help you other then send it to abairgun.com thats and older gun and i never worked on them
I have never blown any seals in a co2 gun in cold weather hot weather yes the crosman 357 and the 38's don't do well in 30c weather if left on a table but general shooting is fine in hot weather for any airgun just don't leave a co2 gun in out in direct sunlight or the seals will blow, , and your right about 3 secs between each shot for the co2 to recover, more so if you have a power modded co2 gun
if you have a stock hammer spring in there then its your valve stem seal if its farting out the barrel.
Can I buy parts from you? i.e. New Cup and some O-Rings?
+David Armstrong nope i dont fix airguns anymore want parts see abairgun.com
Awesome video! Many thanks for sharing you knowledge
My pleasure!
Hi Kevy..! What if it''s a 140 or 1400?
same deal its a pumper same test to see whats going on the only time its a bit more of a challenge is on airguns with dump valves

Very informative vid maby thanks
Glad you enjoyed it and your welcome
My crosman legacy 1000 will not shoot bb out after I pump it up why is this happening?
maybe you have a bb jammed in the barrel or maybe a few of them other then that dude its not in front of me so i cant really tell you
I am surprised the old cup worked!chalk it up to production tolerances I guess!
ok test time is over i just checked the gun and it still had well over half the air left basic guess fired the gun and still loads of snap to it,it did lose some air and i expected that to happen ,ill run another test for a 2 week time fram so today is nov 11 so will goto nov 25th so remind me again to get back to you on the 25th sound good ..
ok I ended this test 2 days early I had to but what I did was put it over the chrony and it only lost about 10 fps over 2 weeks so test one had me curious, iam going to do further testing down the road once I do ill make a new video with results. so for now ill state that if all your seals are good, you can keep it pumped up for along time and show very little drop in fps you wont do any damage but why leave it pumped up for such along time would be my question,
i have never dont an auctual timed test but i see no reason why it can not hold air for extreamly long times tell you what ill pump mine up to full power and let it sit for say a week and then get back to you to let you know, how its doing , i do know i always store it with 1 pump all the time and never lost air even after 2 weeks so lets test it for a week at full valve capasity il get back to this next sunday and let you know ok sound good, email me next sunday on here to remind me..to answer
