I've heard that the hole in the back of the Canadian valve works like some kind of governor that releases air pressure past a certain point which will keep the pressure low even if you pump it 50 times plus. Have you found that to be true?

thanks just wanted to let every one know whats up and why they guns are not shooting like the use to ,. I wounder if crosman will fix this. its still a great valve and power potential is still there but be nice if they worked like they used to, that nip off the top answers a lot of questions.
I recently ordered a reseal kit for my 1377 from Bryan and Associates. First Ron sent me the wrong kit. I returned it at my own expense, and waited another week until he sent the correct kit. It contained a used valve stem assembly with cracked rubber seal. I called Ron again, and he disconnected our call. Has anyone else had issues with this company? I'm pretty sure I got screwed and am searching for another parts supplier. Any suggestions? Thanks.
she will get closer to 500 but youll also need a 2240 trasfer port then youll hit great speed just the valve alone will get you really close to the 500 if not a few over 500 if you are in canada dont do it it will make it a restricted firearm in canada and jail is not worth it , i keep all my guns under 500 fps
@@KevinMillard68 the valve already pushes 495 in the Canadian version. Im curious if the 1322 stock valve put into the 1377 will change the 495 fps or keep it the same.
I think that's a safety feature for when people miss count and accidently do more than 10 pumps, it gives a buffer that you can actually go to 15 pumps and still stay within the valve/Oring threshold without causing unnecessary stress or damage because of accidental overpumping, maybe?
well i talked to crosman directly and it was a full on defective batch and they were happy i brought this to their atten and its been dealt with as well it was not a new design of any sort and mis counting can happen yes but that's not going to stop you from over pumping even a proper built valve will still dum 30 pumps and you will get a fair amount of extra speed but you do risk damaging the pump piston
@@KevinMillard68 so those were defective? Anyway I just bought a 1322 a week ago from Amazon, I know this is an old video, but did they fix the valves in the more recent batches, and can I pump mines to 10 pumps and leave it pressurized overnight or will doing that damage the seals overtime?
Wow, that's surprising. I recently bought the "new" version, the one with the black trigger. Even with this weaker valve, I thought the thing had some awesome power. I HAVE TO get a flat top piston, it would be awesome to get the "regular" power, plus, what the new piston can offer. Great video Kevin, it really surprised me.
This video was very helpful sir. I bought my 760c gun in the 1980s. Will these valves work in this type 760 c model and are they interchangeable. Or could you tell me what type goes in that model. I've read that there are a couple of types and the difference was the color. Brass or silver. This would help me before I rebuild my air rifle with ordering and time
as long as whats in your gun now is the same then yup they work crosman use to do all the valves in brass now they are all aluim these days other then the 2240 which is still all brass
if you drill the valve inlet int he front of the valve larger you slow it down more. not speed it up the transfer port you can drill out for more speed, you can also turn down the tip of the probe for more speed to.
Hey I may be a bother but I did replace the pump cup and the o ring from the valve I felt way more pressure while pumping but at the end of the pump air releases I think it is the valve how can I see if this is the problem and how can I fix it thanks p
Well I replaced the pump cup and really saw a difference and then I saw that both o rings from the valve were chipped and crusty which I think is causing the air leak where can I get them without ordering them from crossman thanks for replying
not much really you can cut a few threads of the valve to make some extra air space but no point to it when you can just over pump the gun past 10 pumps and get more power either way its not really a modable gun
all speeds on all airguns are upto ratings only it in no way gaurntees it will shoot at that speed but it can get upto that speed depending on the weight of the pellet
I have a old 1322 and I have 1 unique issue with it. Most just have a spring inside with that shaft and the plastic. HOWEVER! Mine has a shorter spring and uses a solid cylinder inside. Making each pump under crazy pressure. I cant get past 3-4 pumps without really trying.Whats inside your valves too?
Hey well thanks for replying and the air seems to escape from on top of the rifle and were do the seals go and were can I get o rings for the valve and how can I do this at home without ordering parts if possible if possible can you make a video on how to do all of the things you told me thanks please reply
I just bought a 1377. I wonder if Crosman has this problem fixed by now? I'm wondering if this problem exist in mine? Has anyone checked recent models? Thanks in advance for any responses.
the only way youll know if your gun the one you have in your hand is still affected or not is to take it appart all you need to do is pull the front tube pin and remove the pump mech and use a flash light down the hole and look at the tip of the valve
click on factroy parts button or barrels or the more pages button most of what i have is on thoes links right now , my wife has not had time to sort or upload the rest
what gun and what kinda of power are you looking to get and dont tell me the max i can get, cause thats not realistic to tell me that. and what pellet weight are you wanting to use to get the speed your after.
I'm Canadian and I want to up the pressure on my 1377 and I'm looking at getting a 1322 as well. I want to use them for small game , but I'm one of these people that likes to make, one shot one kill. And I hope I can improve the power to over 500-600 fps in both.
+Edwin Dueck Unless you have a restricted arms permit I don't recommend power levels above 500 FPS in Canada but if you don't care then I don't care. Just a heads ups.
I think I did a poor job of expressing my point. I don't really know what I'm talking about. My thought was this.. If the truncated point on the valve you show negatively effected performance, and the flat head valve being an exaggerated version of this truncation, wouldn't that have an adverse effect? I think I may not understand the mechanics. I don't think the flat head provides a power increase, it just gets you to max pressure with fewer pumps? But max does not change?
So here it is july 2014, and i've just received a 1322 in the mail. Have the valves been returned to normal? Is there a place to find aftermarket high performance valves for sale? How do I improve the performance of my 1322?
from what i was told they were looking into seeing what happen so by now they should have fixed them as for after market more powerfull set up you need the flat face valve and pump piston kits and i dont know who makes and sells them but keep in mind you will be changing orings alot on the flat face piston
this is good to know.damn now i want to take the gun down and look inside lol ... o well it is what it is .i am very happy with the gun lots of power . i only pump it 2 or 5 times for what im doing with it i like how quiet it is with 2 pumps.. 5 pumps hits hared and with 5 pumps i can reach out at 55 y im not grouping at that distance but i can hit a 3'X3' target .. .do you know of a good web sight that i can get parts and upgrades ..and what type of maintenance do you do thanks for posting..
what I can tell you for sure is that you can easly get in 15 pumps inot the 1322 and dump it all in one shot with no problem if you look at the us valve in the video with the tip cut down it will fit and dump almost 30 pumps out cause there is the space gap now that under powers it at 10 pumps so now you need to almost double it to get the max cap of the valve. Hopefully crosman fixes this and get the valve back to normal again , but it does have some good points to it as well with the tip off
I'm in the US... I have a 1377 but I don't know which valve I have as of yet. If I have the one that's cropped off a little... will the piston be different too? If I go back with the older style..pointed..do I have to change the piston too? Good Video.
you can pump it a few more times i dont care for the flat top piston mod my self, to hard on orings on the piston so you will be taking your gun apart alot to change orings.but i always say to each his or her own
well.. cronys don't lie is all I can say :) 10 pumps on original does the same as 15 for me and more thanks to the upgrades i've done. O rings are pennies. sorry you don't like my alterations. do you think the valve could benefit from having some sort of seal at the base of the stem internally? seems to be some air escaping from there.. not much but some.
you know ill have to pull mine apart and check it I havent checked it sence i put the us valve in mine thart has no tip on it, i do know my gun is only doing 486 fps with my 22 cal barrel on mine
Hi Kev , i know this is an old vid ,but i'm in the UK and i bought a 1377 without realizing that all imported 1377s are now the canadian version with the bleed hole , hence my power at 10 pumps is only 2.61 ft lbs . although our legal limit for a pistol is 6 ft lbs . question : how can i easily block the bleed hole , or if i order a valve from the USA will i get the standard version .minus the bleed hole . and therefore solve my problem . Thanks .
you can order the usa verison valve no problem at all to block the bleed hole you would need the thread the hole and then out in an allen set screw and lock it it with red lock tight cheaper tho to just get the usa valve and while your at it get a crosman 2240 metal transfer port as well
That flat spot creates a dead air space between the pump and the valve pump face. Adding pumps won't increase the pressure. Unfortunately, that flat spot is a deliberate detune of the gun to make it permanently weaker. The maximum pressure you can put into anything depends on the max pressure of the pump itself. Dead space reduces max pump pressure.
your totaly incorrect i talked to crosman guys at crosman about it and it turned out that it was something that they were not even aware of that happen as they do not do this sort of thing to the valves .. in a canadian valve which you can not buy as a replacement they have from the factory a bleed hole in the back of the valve the usa valves do not ..these valves with the flat tip are USA valves that i bought and i have bought USA valves before any they ran out full power
Well, that would make it a manufacturing defect then. Either way, it would detune the gun and my statements about pump pressure and dead space are correct. Those are just basic physics. The Canadian bleed holes are deliberate detunes designed to reduce maximum pressure to limit gun output power. Similar things are done to airguns for England to make sure the gun meets the maximum 12fpe legal requirement. I will grant Crosman the benefit of the doubt concerning a deliberate detune, but that would mean something worse, namely a complete lack of inspection and quality control! A defect that bad would be easily spotted upon even a cursory visual examination, one that even workers on the assembly line would notice as they assembled the parts. That is -- unless they were producing a whole line of them where every cone was flattened. You see the problem here.
the 1377 1322 2289 valves are all the same , so getting to max pressure is a total of 15 pumps , 10 pumps is crosmans max but the max of the valve is really 15 pumps so to use the auctual flat top piston and flat top valve at 10 pumps is really 15 so 5 pumps to 6 pumps is really 10 pumps, so at 10 pumps its max pressure which also means more power, with the valve in this video it reduces power with the tip off cause it cases extra space in the front of the valve that is not compressed ,
Not sure if the Head on the Canadian valve body would fit on the American valve body. Maybe that might increase the American valve power. Just a thought. Thx
My great grandpa left me his 1377 in his will when he died. It’s still got the brass valve and it’s hitting somewhere near 590 on average. It’s unmoderated except for magnets on the pump to keep it in place. It still leaks sometimes but I’m replacing the o rings and stuff tomorrow. Are there any mods that you recommend for and older 1377? It’s a model that doesn’t have a bolt, just a slide cover.
if your after more power you need to search out the metal barrel band for the crosman 760 it will fit the 1377 and then you can add on a longer barrel and steel breech can also be moded on as well ihave dont it my self before.. also you can leave the stock breech andjust go with the metal 760 barrel band and alonger barrel and the flat top piston and valve mod as well there are many ways to mod these guns for more accuracy and alot more power you can also get custom stocks as well or just use the crosman plastic skealton stock it just goes on the hand grip but then you get a rifle conversion out of it ..
To improve power I actually removed a little more from the valve face on my 2289, along with stuffing the piston, shimming the cup, and a few other head space reducing things. Though just shaving off a little to better match the pump cup will make a performance improvement.
by stuffing as you call it will increase power i agree there and by making the valve a bit flatter to deal with the stuffing of the pump cup yes it increases power its called the poor mans flat face mod.
KevinMillard68 Never heard it called that. There are a number of tests done by people that know more than me showing that the stuffed piston does better than the Flat top. And an adjustable aluminum Cup Piston even better. Then shaping the face increases on this. I have an adjustable Flat top that I do not use. I am working on a aluminum adjustable Cup Piston. (it only costs about $8 USD to make a good adjustable Cup Piston or Flat top :-) ).
That's exactly what I did, I used short a spring out a old brass one combined with the long stiff spring, drilled out the hole from the valve to the barrel, extended the piston with a piece of plastic behind the rubber, filed the cone flat almost, I actually think a pointed cone reduced air an power. .. it's so much better now it's unbelievable, an it sounds awesome now, an I can tell a huge difference in power !
my valve seemed fine. I have all the internal mods for my 1322 now. including a nice thick hammer spring, very slightly weaker valve spring, a hammer spring guide, flat top piston and a good seal at the transfer port. I pump mine with these updates to 22 pumps and i go through o rings like theres no tomorrow but theres DEFINATLY no power loss hahahaha. got nice walnut grips and pumping arm too and put the black grips on my 1377. you'l notice by the valve stem the hole it goes in has no seal :S
I got my 1322 the other day in the US and pulled it apart to see the tip off. After inspecting i could see that on mine the cup plunger that seals the tip off is pushing against the bottom of the rubber cup hard enough to leave the round indent of the hole in the rubber. How is yours different the cup should be the same?
The newer valves have a bit stronger spring. That is the only reason for the power difference. The change in the valve face actually helps produce more power by better fitting the pump cup and thus reducing head space. The pump cup is not a pure cone there is a flat spot towards the middle.
ok well your wrong abou the valve sorry to say but you can believe what you like. i talked to the tops at crosman about this already and its not a hammer spring in the valve its callled a valve return spring there is a huge difference.
Thank you. How are the Canadian valves, I'm grabbing a 1322 today and doing this mod. Is there a valve or a kit I can buy? What kind of fps can i get up to with ths stock barrel length? (I have a crossman phantom mod video on my channel....it's pretty sick and can shoot a heavy slug)
no such thing as cnd valves other then what comes in the guns every time i order in replacements even in canada i get sent USA valves you dont want to nip the tip off the valve youll lose alot of power unless you do the flat calve and flat top piston mod as well and even at that there are o ther mods less problem matic to get more power
KevinMillard68 For a few mm, one can use a little ingeniosity and pack whith an o'ring. I'm working on it. To the brave of heart, nothing is impossible. Cheers.
rouelibre1 some-things are just not ment to happen, if you want adjustability then you need to make an adjustable piston plain and simple. but hey buck shee away, i do it right
Actually I flattened my valve 90% of the way. I then used RTV and make it flush. With just ONE pump and no pellet, it has enough air pressure to shoot a hole through a cereal box at 2.5 inches away.
that wont work the thread line ups dont match up right for the exhaust hole and the screw hole been there done that it wont work and the problem in the end was at crosman
This is very interesting. Because It is claimed that the "flat head" valve provides more power. And it an exaggeration of the difference you have found.
Have you checked the valves from Europe proper? Even though The US valves & Canadian valves are the same with the exception of the tip, the european ones might still be the same.
your piston will not be any different only the tips have been nipped off of the last 2 batches I have gotten in so yours might be as well expecially if your gun is not running as it should be ,you should be running mid to hi 500's with the proper valve using a 7.9 grain pellet if you are running really low numbers lie 500 to 515 then pretty good chance you have a nipped valve best way it to take it apart and look at it compare it to the one in my video that will tell you right fast ..
hi there there is no benefit to the tip being nipped off its a bad run of valves from crosman and iam pointing it out in the video so as to inform people if they get these valves you will have less power then before
Ok I am standing corrected. The problem is that the newer valves have a slightly shorter check valve and thus a slightly greater internal volume :-) . Sorry about that. This should have been a duh as one of my mods was to add a small shim in the valve to reduce the volume slightly.
wow you must have some old valves , the new ones in the last few years all have had the same size check valve seals and springs etc etc. the cnd and US valves do have the same internals they drill a hole in the back of the cnd valve to detune it. i have still to see the other changes which im thinking our cnd valve must now be a bit thicker or shallower in the back or in the front facing or something anyhow thats about all i can tell ya for now till i can do all the measurements etc.
KevinMillard68 I only have a few, can not speak for age. As to the face shape I found a reference: www.network54.com/Forum/275684/thread/1211140448/1211339438/some+interesting+valve+stuff+for+pumpers+%28Pics%29 And Stuffing piston REF: www.network54.com/Forum/275684/message/1166912292/Here%27s+something+else+you+can+do+with+drill+rod-+Stuffing+the+stock+1377+piston+rod
no vent holes to worry about in replacment valves and in most in fact only some of out airguns have the pisser hole in the valve but thats a factoy only thing thats done any time you order in a new valve no holes to reduce power as crosman does not produce replacment valves with the pisser hole ..
this video is not related to the flat head valve at all. also the flat head valve also requires a flat head piston mod to , inorder to even work never mind adding power to the gun that's a whole other subject, whats happen here is what appears to be a bad machine job on the stock valves from crosman suggest watching the video again..
I'm pretty sure Crosman deliberately designed the tank face to reduce power. The way it works: once the pressure inside the tank reaches a specific perssure, the pressure between the tank face and the piston cup has equalized with the pressure inside the tank. Any further pumping won!t add any more pressure to the tank. The only real way of increasing the pressure is by modifying the tank and pump faces to reduce as much 'dead' air space as possible.
I forgot to add, by making this kind of modification, you may also have to install a heavier 'hammer' spring as the old one may not be strong enough to open the exhaust valve due to higher pressures.
Kevys Rc & Music i'm not saying this is a malicious act. I think it's a safety and liability issue. As an example, I've personally owned no less than eight Crosman 760s, yrom the '70s to today. Thier power, over the years, has been reduced quite noticably. The tank face and pump assembly has gone through several design changes over the years which has affected the maximum amoubt of pressure that can be pumped into the tank. These design changes also makes it increasingly difficult for the average do-it-yourselfer to make changes to the rifle. I hardly think this is accidental. By making these modifycations, you can wind up damaging the gun, or worse, being injured. This is why I believe it ti be deliberate. Not to ne 'spiteful', but to prevent damage to the airgun or personal injury. By the same token, backing the power down a bit will reduce the risk of accidental death. It was not my intention to 'slam' Crosman, they're just following good safety policies.
btw I was referring to when the discharge occures. i have conducted a test and it concluded I was right. air is being lost from the valve stem bore hole. I am experimenting with small o rings to see if I can reduce this minor loss in pressure to optimise preformance although i might use a rubber based glue as the o ring could obscure the inlet plug. look for yourself before you ridicule my efforts. yes. the flat top could be improved by adding a a flattened cup instead of o ring, goodbye.
there s a BB port on the side to dump in a pile of bbs then you pull back on the back reciever switch tune the gun upside down give it a shak and point the barrel to the ground but not all the way to the ground then close the switch and then just cock the gun pump up and fire
you need the proper tools, lathe the right size drills proper sized ones cost some big bucks youll need some milling cutters as well 2 sizes 6 flut work the best youll also need of course the tooling for the lathe hss cutters learn to grind them to to the shapes you need as well , cone cutters seals you can order from crosman for crosman airguns. if your messing with aluim pumper valves then forget it way to touchy to mod thos valves so now we move to alternate mods for power.
The mod I wanted was achieved by lightly gluing a small o ring to the back of the valve stem hole and lubricating before re-installing. I replied in the manner I did because you apparently assumed everything I've done is wrong due to a different approach, and the way you instantly dismissed everything I wrote indicated you had a problem with someone else on your channel knowing what they are doing. My mods work. The o ring on the flat top could be improved - I'm not fortunate in possessing equip
so guys are saying there is like 1300 psi in the pumpers and if they are correct and if the whole 900psi per shot is correct in co2then you will be running 1300 psi in a pumper how ever the exiting pressure level in a pumper is a lot less then the 2240 for example its a bit of a mystery really to say for sure, so no defined answer for ya there is no way to measure the pumper pressure that I know of my self..
yup I sell mod parts and upgrades and I also do repairs check the description in this video for the link to my website what you don't see just ask me about,,
well you know the hammer spring that comes int he 1322 is more then good enough, its not about wacking the stem wide open its getting it to open and close fast enough to get more power, and yup the flat top piston mods are hard on orings for sure useless mod in my books
If you go on ebay you'll find many listings on these valves. Some valves will be modded which require you to have to buy the piston for it to work properly for around $60 and some valves will be modded but you can just install plug and play. Flat face valves need a flat faced piston for it to work properly. They will allow you to pump more air with more pumps .
I just took apart my .22 Crosman Doomsday Bug Oug gun. Yep, it has the not so pointed tip. No wonder I can only 397fps with 10 pumps. I already installed the Marauder 2-stage target trigger grip. Now I will have to upgrade the valve pump, silencer, metal reciever and .177 barrel. By the time I am done it will be a $450 pumper. This is too crazy.
well you can try and order new valve in and see if they fixed the problem on them , you can also drill out the metal trasfer port to 3.8 to 3.9 mm for more speed and seeing as you have the junk valve pumper her up 20 times ,, FYI modding airguns can get costly but its dam fun .. and when your done you get the gun you want in the end
ok. no, it likely has not made a great deal of difference as you mentioned it was more of a precaution for me to optimise the initial pressure discharge to keep me from getting bored one night and seeing as my gf was not around to.. play with.. I play with other things instead. tis' a fine balance, having man time for man hobbies and studies and finding the time to devote attention to women also, lol.I apologise for clustering up your mail box. I'm glad the situation has been resolved.
Now I get it. Thank you. Working my way through all of your videos. Love them all. Thanks again.

all speeds on all airguns are upto ratings only it in no way gaurntees it will shoot at that speed but it can get upto that speed depending on the weight of the pellet

I tried to click on a few things on your we site but for some reason nothing shows up. any idea why I can't check out your inventory.
click on factroy parts button or barrels or the more pages button most of what i have is on thoes links right now , my wife has not had time to sort or upload the rest
what gun and what kinda of power are you looking to get and dont tell me the max i can get, cause thats not realistic to tell me that. and what pellet weight are you wanting to use to get the speed your after.
Look at U.S. patten No. 5,224,465. They have added a baffle to reduce air discharge rate in the valve.
+tct72 I know that, but it's still the fact, I think it's a bit extreme for 500 FTS when maybe it should by impact.
When I pump my crossman 1377 the air escapes can you tell me how to fix this please thank you
I think that is the problem how can I fix the leak
this is good to know.damn now i want to take the gun down and look inside lol ... o well it is what it is .i am very happy with the gun lots of power . i only pump it 2 or 5 times for what im doing with it i like how quiet it is with 2 pumps..
Hopefully crosman fixes this and get the valve back to normal again , but it does have some good points to it as well with the tip off
so trimming down the cone of an original valve will decrease the speed instead of increasing?
in this case yes it will if your using the stock piston and pump cup it will slow you down alot
I'm in the US... I have a 1377 but I don't know which valve I have as of yet. If I have the one that's cropped off a little... will the piston be different too? If I go back with the older style..pointed..do I have to change the piston too? Good Video.
you can pump it a few more times i dont care for the flat top piston mod my self, to hard on orings on the piston so you will be taking your gun apart alot to change orings.but i always say to each his or her own
Thanks Key, very informative video
Glad it was helpful!
well.. cronys don't lie is all I can say :) 10 pumps on original does the same as 15 for me and more thanks to the upgrades i've done. O rings are pennies. sorry you don't like my alterations. do you think the valve could benefit from having some sort of seal at the base of the stem internally? seems to be some air escaping from there.. not much but some.
just make sure to keep the speed under 500 fps if your in Canada,
you know ill have to pull mine apart and check it I havent checked it sence i put the us valve in mine thart has no tip on it, i do know my gun is only doing 486 fps with my 22 cal barrel on mine
There's no way to fix it and its a 1377 how much would it cost?
Hi Kev , i know this is an old vid ,but i'm in the UK and i bought a 1377 without realizing that all imported 1377s are now the canadian version with the bleed hole , hence my power at 10 pumps is only 2.61 ft lbs . although our legal limit for a pistol is 6 ft lbs . question : how can i easily block the bleed hole , or if i order a valve from the USA will i get the standard version .minus the bleed hole . and therefore solve my problem . Thanks .
you can order the usa verison valve no problem at all to block the bleed hole you would need the thread the hole and then out in an allen set screw and lock it it with red lock tight cheaper tho to just get the usa valve and while your at it get a crosman 2240 metal transfer port as well
@@KevinMillard68 Thank you for your quick reply and excellent advice , i will order the valve and also the transfer port .
@@gort742 get your self a spare pump cup as well never hurts to have one handy
@@KevinMillard68 Yes will do , and Thanks again .

how to do what ????
You see the problem here.
it was a defect and yes we all know what happen when you nip the tip off i have been modding airguns for along time
you can disassemble the valves yes
you ll need a new valve stem or just buy a new complete valve you have a canadain 1377 or US version or is it a 1322 gun
the 1377 1322 2289 valves are all the same , so getting to max pressure is a total of 15 pumps , 10 pumps is crosmans max but the max of the valve is really 15 pumps so to use the auctual flat top piston and flat top valve at 10 pumps is really 15 so 5 pumps to 6 pumps is really 10 pumps, so at 10 pumps its max pressure which also means more power, with the valve in this video it reduces power with the tip off cause it cases extra space in the front of the valve that is not compressed ,
HOW IS THE FLAT TOPS IS THEY WORK GETTING DO IT MAKES THE GUN POWERFUL
aparenlty you need to watch the entire video the flat tops on the valve reduce power alot
thank you for the info, and yes right on the money looks like I have to fix that problem.well live to fly and shoot.
There's no way the air that is contained in the flat area (lost air) would decrease air storage by 5 pumps. Maybe one pump, at most.
well perhaps you need more study time on this stuff then
Not sure if the Head on the Canadian valve body would fit on the American valve body. Maybe that might increase the American valve power. Just a thought. Thx
thread debths are differenet it wont work sorry man
Thank you for the helpful info. have a great day!
your welcome
What reason would crossman have to make this change..it makes no sense.. Unless they think that little extra pressure will make it lethal
they didnt make the change some one at the factory where they are made screwed up problem has sence now been fixed
KevinMillard68
Never heard it called that.
Jay :)
can you make a video on how to do it???
my valve seemed fine.
Can these be opened?
I m interested to buying this value. Could u sent me kit of valve a set. And how much price of it. Thanks
so man i dont do mod or repair parts anymore
You can find the valves you want on ebay. They have them all. Stock or modded.
Hello Kevin,
does this power deterioriation affects EU models as well?
Thanks for the info
The newer valves have a bit stronger spring. That is the only reason for the power difference. The change in the valve face actually helps produce more power by better fitting the pump cup and thus reducing head space. The pump cup is not a pure cone there is a flat spot towards the middle.
ok well your wrong abou the valve sorry to say but you can believe what you like. i talked to the tops at crosman about this already and its not a hammer spring in the valve its callled a valve return spring there is a huge difference.
KevinMillard68
My apology I did not mean hammer spring. I must have been thinking about two things at once.
Anyway, the bottom of the piston cup is flatter than the pointy valve tip. Just lenghten your piston a tad and you'll have a flattop effect.
you can not adjust the piston length on the newer guns
KevinMillard68 For a few mm, one can use a little ingeniosity and pack whith an o'ring. I'm working on it. To the brave of heart, nothing is impossible. Cheers.
rouelibre1 some-things are just not ment to happen, if you want adjustability then you need to make an adjustable piston plain and simple. but hey buck shee away, i do it right
Actually I flattened my valve 90% of the way. I then used RTV and make it flush. With just ONE pump and no pellet, it has enough air pressure to shoot a hole through a cereal box at 2.5 inches away.
take the top from the Canadian model and put it on the American one would that solve the issue your having ?
that wont work the thread line ups dont match up right for the exhaust hole and the screw hole been there done that it wont work and the problem in the end was at crosman
cool
@@Radio_Flakes i assume that is with 11 pumps though.
@@Radio_Flakes that explains it then
This is very interesting. Because It is claimed that the "flat head" valve provides more power. And it an exaggeration of the difference you have found.
Have you checked the valves from Europe proper? Even though The US valves & Canadian valves are the same with the exception of the tip, the european ones might still be the same.
i auctualy talk to crosman and they are looking into it as they had no idea they were not machined properly
Nice. At least they give credit where its due.
:-)
Shane Saylor what i wounder is how they missed it but stuff happens i guess
your piston will not be any different only the tips have been nipped off of the last 2 batches I have gotten in so yours might be as well expecially if your gun is not running as it should be ,you should be running mid to hi 500's with the proper valve using a 7.9 grain pellet if you are running really low numbers lie 500 to 515 then pretty good chance you have a nipped valve best way it to take it apart and look at it compare it to the one in my video that will tell you right fast ..
pumping 10 times dahm must be a bit bad for hunting i can probably get like 5 or 6 shots for this guns 1 shot i have break barrel kasu 22.
ok, thanks... i will visit the website and order
if you have air coming out the barrel then it would be valve stem
hi there there is no benefit to the tip being nipped off its a bad run of valves from crosman and iam pointing it out in the video so as to inform people if they get these valves you will have less power then before
Ok I am standing corrected. The problem is that the newer valves have a slightly shorter check valve and thus a slightly greater internal volume :-) . Sorry about that. This should have been a duh as one of my mods was to add a small shim in the valve to reduce the volume slightly.
wow you must have some old valves , the new ones in the last few years all have had the same size check valve seals and springs etc etc. the cnd and US valves do have the same internals they drill a hole in the back of the cnd valve to detune it. i have still to see the other changes which im thinking our cnd valve must now be a bit thicker or shallower in the back or in the front facing or something anyhow thats about all i can tell ya for now till i can do all the measurements etc.

to plug the vent hole 🇨🇦
no vent holes to worry about in replacment valves and in most in fact only some of out airguns have the pisser hole in the valve but thats a factoy only thing thats done any time you order in a new valve no holes to reduce power as crosman does not produce replacment valves with the pisser hole ..
this video is not related to the flat head valve at all. also the flat head valve also requires a flat head piston mod to , inorder to even work never mind adding power to the gun that's a whole other subject, whats happen here is what appears to be a bad machine job on the stock valves from crosman suggest watching the video again..
The only real way of increasing the pressure is by modifying the tank and pump faces to reduce as much 'dead' air space as possible.
no they did not i talked to them my self as they called me once they saw the video this was not them that did this on purpose
Bub_ Lite_63 your correct
btw I was referring to when the discharge occures. i have conducted a test and it concluded I was right. air is being lost from the valve stem bore hole.
Hi this is Ray Benedict yeah I have a 1377 just like this but I can't get it to hold air did I oil it too much or what can I do to fix it
check the outer oring and the pump cup i have a video on how to trouble shoot pump up airguns on my channel
do you to do any drilling to put a piston or barrel in ?
That was is excellent presentation. I appreciate my grandsons air rifle now. The American Classic 766 is in great shape. How do I load the BB's
there s a BB port on the side to dump in a pile of bbs then you pull back on the back reciever switch tune the gun upside down give it a shak and point the barrel to the ground but not all the way to the ground then close the switch and then just cock the gun pump up and fire
you need the proper tools, lathe the right size drills proper sized ones cost some big bucks youll need some milling cutters as well 2 sizes 6 flut work the best youll also need of course the tooling for the lathe hss cutters learn to grind them to to the shapes you need as well , cone cutters seals you can order from crosman for crosman airguns. if your messing with aluim pumper valves then forget it way to touchy to mod thos valves so now we move to alternate mods for power.
that trick don't work there is a difference other then the hole that makes one cnd and one US version
can i get one shipped to canada
you can order them from abairgun.com in the usa i dont sell parts or fix airguns anymore

MrRedeyedJedi do I need I,D for a cross man's to ship it to the UK.these new laws are bullshit.
so guys are saying there is like 1300 psi in the pumpers and if they are correct and if the whole 900psi per shot is correct in co2then you will be running 1300 psi in a pumper how ever the exiting pressure level in a pumper is a lot less then the 2240 for example its a bit of a mystery really to say for sure, so no defined answer for ya there is no way to measure the pumper pressure that I know of my self..
You can pump more times

My American 1300KT puts out 530 fps with .22 14.3 grain ammo right from the custom factory. (at 10 pumps)
yup I sell mod parts and upgrades and I also do repairs check the description in this video for the link to my website what you don't see just ask me about,,
well you know the hammer spring that comes int he 1322 is more then good enough, its not about wacking the stem wide open its getting it to open and close fast enough to get more power, and yup the flat top piston mods are hard on orings for sure useless mod in my books
So sad. I thought u sales this valve. U had any ideas to I getting this valve
you can get stock parts from any where that sells crosman parts other then that no idea where you can get moded parts

It would be nice if they did fix it. The more power the better.
flat piston works
