The FM9 this is a complete game changer for me for my studio. Once I get it set up again from where I've moved to over the years I've had a line six pod XP with floorboard very successful in the home studio I have a couple of other pedal balls lined up but this seems to be coming out tops all the time. Thanks very much for the videos. I'll check more and thanks again. God bless
I'm fairly new to modeling. I did have a Helix floor a few months ago but returned it within the 30 return window. Today I took a leap of faith and ordered the FM9 MK2 turbo. A bit unsure of what I got my self in to.
I have found that by using modifiers I can go from my rhythm sound to lead sound with as much gain as I want with one external switch. This way there is zero delay for one sound to another. So I have an external on/off switch and an external expression pedal for my way. I also use modifiers to turn off and on effects when needed or modify the gain of whatever effects I’m using with zero delay. Works so good for live work.
Thanks for a great video! One big wish that I have is to have an option for a global looper that will be applied to all presets. It should be optional as there are people that might not use it and want to cpu but I think it can be great for those of us who use it constantly.
Oh man I'm glad I discovered this I just got my invitation a couple weeks ago and I ordered the fm9 and I got it last Saturday I'm not going to open up till Christmas. You solve both questions I had about setting up three input so. One in case I go to the front of the house, one is going to an amp and cab possibly have a 4 cable method hookup or go to the back of the return. The other one is going into the back of a combo unit in the return. The other is that I have two pedals but I want the one that controls the wah (fractal) to be global. Also I'm thinking about using a volume pedal (Boss 500V) global as I want to be able to turn the sound off with the pedal. There are some other tips in there that I really enjoyed also. Thanks so much and I'll be looking forward to opening up this unit at Christmas. 😎 Update: after seeing your two set up videos I'm really starting to really like this unit. There's still a few things that I need to get squared away as I'm using two tube amps. see my above comment.
great video. just bought my first fractal (fm9). would love to see a video on setting up the fractal to output sound to both an onstage speaker ie line6 power cab and the FOH mixer. couldnt figure out how to get good tones w my current multifx pedal to both outputs simultaneously.
Love the videos. Do you know if midi assignments can be done through the editor rather than the board? Also I'm finding very little on dealing with midi and external controllers. Any recommendations?
Hey Cooper .. great video (as always!) 😃 ... with the section at around 9.08 - Out 3 going to an amp and cabs on stage, is this without reverb and delay etc.? The shunt coming from the amp block to Out 3 implies that this is sans wet fx?
Had my FM9 for a week now and I have it plugged into my UA Apollo interface and that runs into my Adam A7X Monitors. I like to play along to song in my iTunes music collection and I am having a hard time trying to get unity volume if I get my volume up high enough then I hit play on my prerecorded song the volume on my FM9 is a lot lower than my Monitor playing my iTunes music. Any helpful out there? Thanks in advance.
Hi, please check the output levels in the OUT block when playing. If they are okay, either ask support@g66.eu or the fractal forum for help. Thanks and Merry Christmas
Almost forgot to ask. can I get a piezo sound from the FM9 with a non piezo guitar. I have a Suhr Pete Thorn model guitar his 1st model but it does not have a piezo in it. I really like Alex Lifeson's sounds. Thanks again
I have been watching some of your videos. I don't have a Fractal product yet but I may in the future. I really like the FM9 Turbo. Big Question for me is. Do the Fractal units have an Analogue threw signal like the chase bliss products do? Where analogue signal is untouched? Thanks for all you do. I know it takes an awful lot of effort & time t to make these videos. Michael
Is it possible to do alternate tunings with the FM9? Besides standard tuning, I use Open E and Open G quite a lot when playing live. If the FM9 would do this, I could leave a couple guitars at home. Hope this will work. 🤞
Actually YES. Use a pitch block/virtual capo. Not sure what tunings are available but you certainly can tune guitars down 1/2 step automatically at the press of a footswitch. If you learned more about other available tunings let me know please. I just got mine and have not yet scratched the surface. Only skimmed the manual so far. I learn better hands on and just playing with it. I learned how to dim all those bright lights and turn off the flashing tap temp- that was annoying.
Can you please tell me how to quickly access the controls of a Fractal Stomp pedal (i.e.overdrive) without having to go through menus on the units screen. With helix, I just touch the switch and the pedals control's shows up on the screen. On the FM9, I had to scroll, and there is no time for that when playing live. Thanks
With home setup(i have a focusrite 2i2 with 2 combo input xlr/jack) and or with FRFR cab, your advice is to use -10db for output1-2? I've maybe had wrong settings using +4DB with the 2 scenario until now ?😥
sort of puzzled as to hooking up my FM9 to my send/return on the back of my amp. I also have a UA Apollo /twin interface controlling my Adam A7X monitors. I had a friend tell me to hook up my monitors straight to the FM9. Help me Bro I am totally lost. Very new to the digital world.
There are two options, you can check your input signal first (FM9 settings). If the input signal is good, but the presets do not sound good on your system, test another speaker. The speakers have a huge impact. Or test an FRFR for a start! You can always contact us at support@g66.eu
Hey Cooper, I love your videos. I just got my invitation to purchase an FM9 Turbo today - I think I've been on the waitlist for close to a year. I ordered it and can't wait for it to arrive. Just wondering if you could recommend the best way to listen to it in my studio. I was thinking of going through my interface and then out my studio monitors - is that the norm or is there a better way? Also, I'm in the beginning stages of putting a band together with the vocalist who sings my songs. My main purpose for the FM9 is for gigging so that I don't have to bring my amp and pedal board. What is the best way to monitor my guitar in this situation? Thanks for your help and I'll be signing up for your masterclass when I get my unit.
4 weeks and 1 day is the current wait list time, if you check the Fractal forum. Naturally that is subject to change but they’ve been crushing it since about late December. I got on the waitlist 03/21/2023, got the invite to buy 04/19/2023, it shipped the next day. 👍
I couldn’t agree more the looper is treated as an afterthought it should be global and have at least four tracks If boss can do it on the RV 600 for $850 why can’t fractal at. 9 times the price
everything in life is complicated- like learning a new language, playing guitar, etc., until you know how to do it- then it's as easy as breathing. Life is short- take chances. Believe in yourself and good things can happen.
Why doesn’t Fractal put a four input recorder and mixing console eliminating the need for any external gear with a sensible effects processor and modeller with dedicated mike input with vocal effects Come on Fractal get out of your ivory tower start thinking outside the box there is more to life than Eddie Van Halen and Tosin Abasi
extraordinary that fractal doesn’t have a touch screen as does helix and head rush I would prefer less Amps and options and better user interface Shouldn’t have to use either a manual or a computer it should be right at your feet and self evident And surely they can afford to release a pared back version so that normal human beings like myself can afford one I personally only need a few classic amps Fenders Marshalls Vox and Golden Tones and a couple of cabs but more random step filters and sequencers and why not a great drum machine synced up,to global tempo as has the M Audio Black Box ( excuse me for mentioning that on a fractal site) but the MMBB still surprises me with its tonality and synced up step filters etc
Arrays don't start at 1. ;-) Every software developer on the planet (except for really bad ones) just cringed at you changing the display offset to 1. haha.
Fractal need to pull their finger out they are clunky old technology and will go under if they don’t catch up to the 21st century AI is coming and will revolutionise effects processors making them truly intuitive and responsive to the guitarists inner most being even more so than his dog
That "kerchunk" on the Petrucci rig 😍
Some of us live for that kerchunk. 😂

Just got mine... this was super helpful, and I will be grabbing your FM9 class when it's available. Thanks!
My FM9 is coming in this week. These insights ( especially the setup section) is great! Thanks for posting the tips.
Como faço pra adquirir um , eu moro no Brasil aqui não está sendo comercializado o fractal fm9 ?
Already purchased the Master Class. Can't wait for Dec 1.

5:49 on the Axe2 I left the 000 in and made it a blank grid to act like 'STANDBY' on an amp.
That sounds incredible. Turning your guitar into a synth! Amazing!

just got mine this week and I am very happy with the unit! factory presets sound amazing. thanks for the tips
so right out of the factory you can get rolling pretty easy with this?
Thank You Cooper!
Wow man! So glad I came across your videos! Very helpful!
Great tips, thanks Cooper!!!
I love the guitar faces😁
Is there a magnatone amp. in Fractal yet?? Nice informative video.
Is there reverb/delay trailing between presets?.
Great Stuff. Thanks CC!
love it. thanks Cooper!
Thank you for this video. Much appreciated.
Love the video. With my Mac OS I am unble to get right click to get to the EV2 pedal configuration page. Any suggestions?
Love the videos. Do you know if midi assignments can be done through the editor rather than the board? Also I'm finding very little on dealing with midi and external controllers. Any recommendations?

I noticed a big difference, for the better, when using the 1/4” output to the board rather than the xlr. Am I imagining this?
Speaking of my x8. I don’t have the fm9 as yet.
When will the FM9 Master Class be available? :)
Is there a Sitar Patch in the Fractal FM9 Turbo?
running thru clean amp?
Almost forgot to ask.
can I get a piezo sound from the FM9 with a non piezo guitar.
I have a Suhr Pete Thorn model guitar his 1st model but it does not have a piezo in it.
I really like Alex Lifeson's sounds.
Thanks again
it won't quite sound the same. you can drive a bus fast around turns...but it is still a bus.
Simply the best b eying comparison
Great work thank u

Don't over think it dude. it sounds great. it has DSP, key word digital. You will like. Get on the list. I like mine...a lot and I am picky.

Hi, Knut here from the Support Team. Great question! Please email us at support@g66.eu so I can assist you personally.
I’m new to playing. Would this sound better through my fender deluxe reverb amp or through studio home speakers? Or either? Thnx
What does it have for harmony’s?
With home setup(i have a focusrite 2i2 with 2 combo input xlr/jack) and or with FRFR cab, your advice is to use -10db for output1-2?
I've maybe had wrong settings using +4DB with the 2 scenario until now ?😥
just set to what sounds good. headphones usually sound best.

No problem. Send us an email, we'll get you set up quickly. Support@g66.eu
@@G66eu Thanks
So, this a software kit...not a pedal board setup?
The presets sound nothing like that for me. What might be the problem. I am running direct out into my PA. They sound very weak.
Try something with more power 🤔
@ more power? As far as? The input or crank it up? Not sure what's funnier you mean?
There are two options, you can check your input signal first (FM9 settings). If the input signal is good, but the presets do not sound good on your system, test another speaker. The speakers have a huge impact. Or test an FRFR for a start! You can always contact us at support@g66.eu
@ thank you
Take a page out of kempers book and put a dedicated looper!
After a year I finally received my email but now the Cdn dollar tanked putting this unit of reach. I am going to have wait again!
Hey Coop! Start with saving up enough cash to buy a car! Then you might have enough to buy an FM -9
Hey Cooper, I love your videos. I just got my invitation to purchase an FM9 Turbo today - I think I've been on the waitlist for close to a year. I ordered it and can't wait for it to arrive. Just wondering if you could recommend the best way to listen to it in my studio. @@tonyb8324 yes you are right. Since I made that post I found the waitlist forum. So excited, only 2 weeks left to go!
一度は日本市場から予約撤退したFM9を

oh my gosh ,incredible can you get killer sounds right out of the box, all your other info sounds so complicated, appreciate your knowledge though

Sorry but I think you're missing the triplets on Stone In Love.
I'm sorry. But I haven't heard anything different or any better than my Boss GX100
The first thing that I do is delete all the presets.
My anti-virus doesn't like you site security certificate.
Corrected the typo: www.g66.eu
Thanks 👍

FM9 crew give me a high five ✋
extraordinary that fractal doesn’t have a touch screen as does helix and head rush
I would prefer less Amps and options and better user interface
Shouldn’t have to use either a manual or a computer it should be right at your feet and self evident
And surely they can afford to release a pared back version so that normal human beings like myself can afford one
I personally only need a few classic amps Fenders Marshalls Vox and Golden Tones and a couple of cabs but more random step filters and sequencers and why not a great drum machine synced up,to global tempo as has the M Audio Black Box ( excuse me for mentioning that on a fractal site) but the MMBB still surprises me with its tonality and synced up step filters etc

7450? Are you buying 4 of them? 😂
Stop it will you I’ll have to sell my car to buy one
too complicated
