Great review and very helpful, but my God theres about 80 billion chairs on amazon and probably about 5 good ones. Even these sihoo and such seem to be dragged through the muck and back when it comes to peoples experiences, its so polarising, i think id have more luck raiding the herman miller warehouse while dressed as cat burglar than take my chances online these days :(
Your math-logic of "I'm 5'4 and it's just right at the lowest setting" and "at the highest setting it's just right with a 5" footstool" ergo "the tallest a person can be is 5'9"", implies that a taller person simply has longer shins than a short person, and everything else is exactly the same. In reality, maybe 20-25% of that high is there, so a 5" lift adjustment would be good for a 1'4"-1'8" user height adjustment. So The travel should be good up to a person who is 6'8" to 7' on the top end.
Sit on the floor. If your shoulder/collarbone is over 60cm high, the chair is too small. For average torso-leg ratio that's about 1.75m as stated in the vid. Edit: mine seems pretty solid. If the headrest moves easily just tighten the screw. Back-tilt resistance is adjustable.
I just purchased one of these recently. All's well, except for the seat cushion. It's like a brick. I placed a gel pad cushion on the seat to soften it somewhat. However, as she states, the seat should "break-in" after a period of time which I was unaware of. I'll remove the gel pad and see how the seat cushion responds to a break-in period. Otherwise, it fits me well and I have no issues with the tilt lock mechanism, as least as of now.
Really wanna get one but the comments about the lumbar support digging into their backs are making me think twice. Im 5'7 and and not heavy. U think id have the same issue ?
You are 5'4" and need about 5" footrest at its highest setting shouldn't really mean someone who is 5'9" I suppose. A person with 5 inches of extra leg height would proportionally be 6-6'2" I would assume.
I have a light gray Sihoo m76 (the basic swivel model without a headrest) and have been using it for almost a year now for my WFH. It's a vast improvement from the dining chair I used to use. I can work 3 hours straight now and stay on Zoom calls with minimal strain to my back and shoulders. But other people might want a headrest.
I bought this chair in September 2020. It is still in great condition, I sit in it to work 8 hours a day, and then to game(PS5) for a few nights a week and at weekends. The only thing I have purchased to make it better is some padding for the armrests, as I use the armrests a lot it was sometimes uncomfortable. For the price (under £200) it is a great chair. Someone told me it wasn't as good as a Herman Miller, but then I didn't have to pay over £1000 for a chair! I don't think you will get better for the money.
@@tuan7522 No worries. I still use this chair, I just need to tighten the screws up every now and then. I know I could get a better chair if I spent more money but this serves me well.
Is it still as comfortable as when you started your purchase? Is the seat so soft? Is the depth of the seat pretty good? Can you block the seat at a degree of inclination that you should?

I removed the lumbar support because it hurts extremely after 1-2 weeks and your back will thank you. Thanks. Lower back pain here also, have removed the lumbar support to see if that improves matters. Even with the support wound as far back from the back mesh as possible, it was still digging into my lower back. So will see if the lumbar removal helps.
