Great review and very helpful, but my God theres about 80 billion chairs on amazon and probably about 5 good ones. Even these sihoo and such seem to be dragged through the muck and back when it comes to peoples experiences, its so polarising, i think id have more luck raiding the herman miller warehouse while dressed as cat burglar than take my chances online these days :(

You are 5'4" and need about 5" footrest at its highest setting shouldn't really mean someone who is 5'9" I suppose. A person with 5 inches of extra leg height would proportionally be 6-6'2" I would assume.

Sit on the floor. If your shoulder/collarbone is over 60cm high, the chair is too small.
For average torso-leg ratio that's about 1.75m as stated in the vid.
Edit: mine seems pretty solid. If the headrest moves easily just tighten the screw. Back-tilt resistance is adjustable.

I have a light gray Sihoo m76 (the basic swivel model without a headrest) and have been using it for almost a year now for my WFH. It's a vast improvement from the dining chair I used to use. I can work 3 hours straight now and stay on Zoom calls with minimal strain to my back and shoulders. But other people might want a headrest.

Your math-logic of "I'm 5'4 and it's just right at the lowest setting" and "at the highest setting it's just right with a 5" footstool" ergo "the tallest a person can be is 5'9"", implies that a taller person simply has longer shins than a short person, and everything else is exactly the same. In reality, maybe 20-25% of that high is there, so a 5" lift adjustment would be good for a 1'4"-1'8" user height adjustment. So The travel should be good up to a person who is 6'8" to 7' on the top end.

I just purchased one of these recently. All's well, except for the seat cushion. It's like a brick. I placed a gel pad cushion on the seat to soften it somewhat. However, as she states, the seat should "break-in" after a period of time which I was unaware of. I'll remove the gel pad and see how the seat cushion responds to a break-in period. Otherwise, it fits me well and I have no issues with the tilt lock mechanism, as least as of now.

With the seat height set at its lowest this lady who is 5’4” found the height just right. After raising it about 5” to its highest point she said that it was only suitable for people about 5’9” (5” taller than her). ERRRRRRR NO. It’s for people whose bottom section of their legs is 5” longer than hers so for someone perhaps 24” taller than her or 7’4”.

I find the lumbar support sore on my back and had to reinforce it with padding removed from a travel pillow. It also doesn't have an adjustable backrest which leaves people like me who are 6 foot or above without proper back support. If you're reading this and you're 6 foot or above, get another chair as this will be really annoying.

I bought this chair in September 2020. It is still in great condition, I sit in it to work 8 hours a day, and then to game(PS5) for a few nights a week and at weekends. The only thing I have purchased to make it better is some padding for the armrests, as I use the armrests a lot it was sometimes uncomfortable.
For the price (under £200) it is a great chair. Someone told me it wasn't as good as a Herman Miller, but then I didn't have to pay over £1000 for a chair! I don't think you will get better for the money.

I have had a absolute nightmare with this company after paying the most I ever have for a office chair I expected a ergonomic chair that does the job it states. I was so wrong.
After purchasing this chair as soon as built it felt like it was tilting to one side. I got a spirit level and tried it on different floor surfaces but the chair was definitely unlevel. I reached out to the company who have sent 3 different parts to change on the chair which has led me to labour over rebuilding the chair multiple times but it still has the same issue! I also ended up with a bill from FedEx for them sending out replacement parts from China and not paying enough shipping.
They recently sent me a new chair in exchange however this arrived with out the legs so is useless. I am now lumbered with a load of chair parts and 2 useless chairs which has not only caused me back pain but also are completely useless. Avoid this company. I will be getting my money back I am currently talking to consumer rights in the UK.

I removed the lumbar support because it hurts extremely after 1-2 weeks and your back will thank you.
    Steps:
at 2:58 you can see the lumbar support perfectly well.
    1) Remove the silver disk with which you normally adjust the lumbar support. Take a small needle or fine screwdriver and try to screw the disc finely and gently out from the sides.
    2) unscrew the screw in the middle
    3) take of the black disc
    4) now you can take out the lumbar support but be careful not to damage the mesh. Try to pull it diagonal so you dont have to push it in to the mesh to much .
Shout out to the guy who wrote online a tutorial to remove it.

5'4 is the average female height, meaning there are plenty of people (myself included) who are 5'3 and below

Why would you expect a chair to accommodate someone that is shorter than 5'4? That's insane. Anyone shorter is basically a midget.
