Frozen Bodies Brought Back to Life? Cryogenics and the Science of Immortality | Documentary

  • The idea of postponing or even reversing the ageing process has always fascinated humanity. Some claim that immortality will be possible as little as thirty years from now - but will it just be for the rich?
Our team visited research laboratories working on this objective and interviewed the world’s top researchers in the field. We ask just how long humans might be able to live, and what it could involve.
The programme also looks into the popular wish to remain young and extend our lifespan. Some go to the extent of paying 8,000 dollars for a blood transfusion from a young person. We visited the clinic where they perform this bizarre procedure, whose scientific basis has been criticized, and spoken to the people in charge.

I’m 62, swim a mile a day. Walk 6 miles. No alcohol, or smoking. Live most of the time on the Coast with very clean air. San Diego other times. My Grandfather lived from 1897-1997. I’ll be ready

Who in their right mind even wants to live past 90 ? That's enough ! I guess the few hundred billionaires might be interested. It will still suck.

Id assume you wouldn't age, in the future stem cell replacement therapy replaces dead cells, the only reason we die is our stem cells regen rate slowly decays, our body's give up because we can't feed it life.. if the opportunity is there to feed it life would you not want to do what is good for you ?

Not possible. Crystalization destroys cells. End of discussion.

We have been able to freeze specific cells without damaging them but we haven't been able to freeze even the simplest of organs yet.
Also, the moment your brain loses power it gets wiped out... soo there's that too.

Could you imagine.. waking up suddenly, as if you had been sleeping very hard, and being surrounded by scientists that look beyond what our imagination could conjour... and the actuality of seeing the reality of the world from an entirely different epoch. Hopefully more like Futurama, Jetsons or Star Trek, then something like Idiocracy.

If a human know and understands mathematics. He will realize that even if he lives 1 million years. When compared to infinity it is just a drop on a hot pan 1 second. Most people are afraid to love because they fear losing.
They fear being loved because they don't see themselves worthy.
They fear thinking because it brings responsibility.
They fear speaking because they fear criticism.
They fear expressing their feelings because they fear rejection.
They fear growing old because they didn't appreciate their youth.
They fear being forgotten because they didn't contribute anything good to the world.
And ultimately, they fear death because they never truly knew how to live.

Honestly I don’t even need to live forever. And can’t ….. you know cuz like the solar systems gonna collapse and the sun will eat it all up and stuff so theres no way to really be “immortal” the best way to is die like as a really old person so you have lived good and the. See where you go from there .. honestly 100 years sound pretty sweet of a deal for me… I’ll be fricking fed up with the world by then Anyway 😂

Perhaps this money would be better spent by donating to worthwhile causes, instead of chasing an unknown that might never work, people could use that money to save lives donating to charities like the Against Malaria Foundation, saving thousands of lives. (GiveWell estimates Malaria Consortium’s cost to save the life of a child who would otherwise have died to be US$2,041) Think of how many lives could be saved by donating instead of putting money into Cryonics.
