    This is what I’m waiting for. I’m just a little bit too tall for the Seal. Getting in and out is a pain. That didn’t stop me from going to test drive it twice, but I donno if I could live with it.

      100 % agree that’s exactly why I didn’t buy one! And hahaha 😝 I test drove it twice too and was very impressed with it … 😊

      Similar story for me. I am not tall, but I have problems with the low sitting position. I also don’t like the traditional trunk of the Seal.

    I was waiting for a video on the Sealion 07 EV for a long time! It is the most interesting one to come (for me). The plateforme 3.0 Evo puts back BYD next to Xpeng or Tesla for the time to charge the car.

    Great information David, I had my heart set on the VW ID4 but with the way VW are going I dont think it will hit australia they wont be able to complete with the chinese tech and price. I have reseached all of what is speculated to be arriving 2025 and this stacks up as the best for me. It far exceeds Tesla in comfort and extras for the price, Binicle stalks, HUD, retractable sunshade, Blade battery & range no brainer for me . I do hope you're right about the EVO platform and mid 25 release

      I have been looking at Xpeng G6 and will test the Zeekr X ASAP. However, if BYD SL7 has all the features shown in this video, auto-parking, kick-boot, etc., and price is reasonable, I would go with that. My wife does not like the sound of Xpeng name. Also, Xpeng has only been around for ten years. However, the G6 is a great vehicle.

      @@Kinna57 we have the iD.4 here in Japan and it’s expensive as hell. A good $7000 more than an equivalent Tesla, with less range, terrible infotainment, less interior space, and an extra 300lbs of heft. It’s a truly silly vehicle

      What do you think of Zeekr 7X that is coming next year?

  • @Aussie_Stu76

    Great info as usual mate. Tread carefully though. You and I both know we will not be getting the full suite of DiPilot tricks.I beleive we will also miss out on the BYD lighting on the badge and the fragrance dispenser. So many of us are waiting for this SL7, however they need to announce something soon. Xpeng G6 and Zeekr are coming real soon and will take customers if not careful. Hong Kong and Thailand are on track for this year. But I think BYD have shot themselves in the foot with the SL6 and prioritization that for now. Then the Shark 6. Leaving the SL7 for Feb/March. Hope not but BYD are stretching things haha.

      @BeYonD-EV  วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@Aussie_Stu76 yeh I tried to make clear that none of these are confirmed. I based the vid on the EVO version because the 3.0 version is basically just an SUV version of our current Seal.
      It looks like it's not featuring the full fledged dipilot 300 on the new 2025 Seal. This is a dialled down Dipilot 100, so not fully featured. But I agree, still unlikely to get the full suite.

      BYD are possibly prioritising PHEV whilst the FBT exemption is still going to be available for these cars, until the end of March 2025. Plus the Shark is possibly going to be a huge hit.
      At the end of the day, us EV puritans wouldn't buy a hybrid, but from a wider market perspective, it makes sense for BYD to focus on these models for now. And with such a strong anti-EV movement in Australia, based on false and misleading information, who knows when EVs will actually take off here.

    I am waiting patiently for the SL7 but only if it incorporates e-platform 3.0 Evo and maybe blade battery 2nd generation. If it will not be here by early to mid 2025 I will lose interest quickly and look at other vehicles coming here soon.

    Great video, and thanks for clarifying the current thoughts regarding the possible reduced feature set of the RHD SL7 that might come to AU. It is possible that going with the non-EVO 3.0 means less kinks to iron out, especially with the early Seals and Atto3 not being compatible with some tesla superchargers that are open to all EVs. Aussies want the latest tech, but that comes with issues. It would be interesting if we could find out if the test vehicle had the EVO platform or not. Both the seal and dolphin were spotted for a long time on Australian roads before they were finally released. My sort of guideline was that ordering of the Atto3, seal and dolphin was almost exactly 2 years after the initial announcement in China. Going by that timeline I expect ordering in AU to open mid 2025.

    Why put a light display on the panel in front of the passenger? Wouldn't this be annoying after 5 minutes, especially at night. Options would have been a useable entertainment screen, or even an additional storage/glove box.

    Atto 3 owner, with time to test research Xpeng, Zeekr and Tesla tech.
    Byd seem to be behind with development of ADAS and AI. Updates of these brands coming thick and fast, compared to byd which is an annual event! Not convinced unsure byd is true definition of a software defined car (as wobbly that definition is,)

    Hi David so what’s the difference between the Sealion 7 and the new Seal 06GT. They look similar?

    • @BeYonD-EV
      @BeYonD-EV  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The Sealion 7 is bigger, bigger battery, more powerful motors.
      The Seal 06GT is aimed at younger buyers at a lower price point. So as well as being less powerful it will also miss some of the luxury features the Sealion 7 will get.
      The Sealion 7 Performance is actually faster than the Seal 06GT performance.

    •  วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BeYonD-EVThe 06 GT is a hatchback car, not a SUV/crossover. The 06 GT is a shorter version of the Seal, with a hatch.

    ONLY an EREV.
    Not an EV for me. To little range and the grid in EU is not ready (and it will take years to get it done). Charging will cost time and stress.

    It's a certainty that Sealion 07 will be on BYD'S Evo platform with 800 volt architecture on the premium and performance models, 400 volt architecture on the entry level model.
    I wish you would stop quoting the CLTC range and stick with the WLTP range, which is more accurate.
