Why I Want to Be a Doctor

My route to MD is a bit untraditional. I have wanted to be a doctor since I was about 14 years old. I was pre-med in college when I joined the military (about 3 years into my program) and ended up becoming a Linguist in the Army. After about 5 years I switched to Respiratory Therapy and I work at a Burn Center in San Antonio, Texas.
I truly learned to love medicine while in my respiratory school and have enjoyed patient care. I know the route is long and hard but will be worth the effort.
