- I took the Insta360 ace pro out at night to test its new pure video mode. It definitely does a great job at getting rid of the noise that is visible when shooting in normal video mode but it does start to look a little bit mushy when theres not a lot of lights around. Let me know what u think

This is truly impressive for an action cam. So happy to see action cameras finally catching up with high end smartphones and are usable in low light situations. I already ordered my ace pro
yeah the results are pretty good! they did well with the new software behind it. ur gonna love it when it comes, its a very fun camera

Gosh it looks great. You want night mode to look like night, it has a lovely glow. Might do a night time chippy/takesway tour of my home town!! 🤣🙏 Looks so fab even in normal mode!! Wowsers, Very impressed.
yeah it’s really impressive what they’ve done with the software behind it, cutting out the noise and grain that would usually be visible… haha yeah do it, do it!
Great test in low light. What do you use for indoor filming like eg in a mall? Normal video or pure mode video? Any recommendation when to use the pure video mode...

Nice test shots. If I were to nitpick the low light stabilization, it would come at 2:30, that distant wall drives a moiré shimmy in the processor. Otherwise, what a nice camera!
thanks 😎 yeah there were a couple of moments of jitters from the stabilization but overall considering everything it held up pretty well
This doesnt concern stabilization .It would be same with mirrorless full frame camera .
Could you also make a similar walking video to compare Ace Pro to iPhone 15 Pro (no gimabal)?

For an action camera, it's definitely better than its competition. I need to try mine on the MTB in a darkened forest to see what it's like in that kind of situation.
yeah it’s definitely better than the action 4 in low light
It’s definitely way better than the GoPro 12 in low light
How did you get low light video this good?
I watched one other youtuber filmed his ace pro at night...the footage was really grainy & blurry.

tbh I haven’t made any adjustments to the clips at all, everything in the video is straight out the camera. the new low light mode, pure video, does a great job at reducing the noise and grain and helping the overall image quality better in low light. maybe the other videos you’ve watched weren’t shot in pure video mode?
And 1 question, what gimbal do you use,? Thank you
8 bit colour tho (256 RGB) ;/ DJI Action 4 has 10 bit colour (1024 RGB) that’s a huge difference!

thanks man 😎 I didn’t do anything else to the clips, no noise reduction or anything. the pure video mode does it all for u. these clips are literally straight out the camera
thanks, bro@@james.loxton I was also making a test of myself from different fps, with auto. Pure video, the video even from time-lapse, I just placed it in auto mode and the result was really really good.< thank you, brother, for the response.

Okay... I'll be honest, I'm getting a bit annoyed with channels refusing to compare the Pocket 3 to the Ace Pro because "it's not fair". For one, if the P3 hasn't come out you wouldn't hesitate to compare the Pocket 2. Second, you're not gonna convince me that you haven't compared the two. Third, it's a disservice to your audience, who most likely will only buy one of these cameras and would like to have the facts.
People are smart enough to weigh the different options if they are presented with the data.
1. Image quality
2. Durability
3. Water resistance
4. Stabilization
5. Special Features
6. Ease of Use
7. Portability
Etc.
No one seems to have a problem comparing the Pocket 3 to phones costing $1500 but not to an Action cam... make that make sense...
I never said I was refusing to compare them both all I said was let’s leave the pocket 3 to one side for a minute and focus on the ace pro. I have in fact already shot a comparison video of the 2 last night so set ur alarm and watch this space

no problem 😎 glad u like them! tbh I didn’t adjust any settings or do anything to the clips when editing them. they are all straight out the camera

I am torn between the osmo pocket 3 and this Ace pro
The lowlight is good , but not as good as the dji.
Dark clothes just become black with no detail. The dji would still show detail on dark clothing
But for travelling I think this camera would be a better option, because it’s waterproof and more robust than dji

no problem 😎 yeah they both have there pros and cons, if it’s travel videos ur wanting to make then both will do the job but with different restrictions, like u say - the pocket 3 isn’t water proof but it is better than the ace pro in low light… the ace pro is not as fragile as the pocket 3 but still can’t be thrown around the place because of the non removable lens cover and flip screen. if it’s overall picture quality ur looking for I would choose the pocket 3, the sound is also better than the ace pro in my opinion but u can create some really unique cool things with the ace pro using the new ai software that u can’t do with the pocket 3. they are both great cameras in there own rights so there’s no right or wrong, just weigh up the pros and cons of them both and then you’ll have ur answer
En lo personal no me gustan las cámaras con la batería que no sea extraible, la batería interna tiene una vida útil y cuando llega a su final un técnico tiene que desarmar el pocket// lo peor de Dji es que descontinua la fabricación de baterías 🔋 de los modelos más viejos, esto lo hicieron con las baterías de los drones Phanton 4 pro

This looks AMAZING. Any issues with focus? Some reviews say it has issues with focusing while vlogging.
it came out really really nice 🤩 tbh I haven’t had any major issues with focusing, yes sometimes when holding it a bit too close to my face it did look blurry but u get to know how far u need to hold it to stop that from happening over time 😎

this is still way better in low light
nothing special and this plastic effect on 4k looks bad but I can see improvements anyway. Ace pro pure video looks like insta x3 pure shot in low light ;)
Nice vid man. I think the Pocket 3 is the ultimate camera for walking round at night with just because of the low light performance and stability of the gimbal. I wouldn't want to attach one to my sports bike tho 😂. Insta 3 pro looks a great little sports cam. 👍

You are showing normal video mode in dark areas and pure video mode in glowing areas eg from 5:50 onwards video timing....Why?
Is anyone here who is struggeling with flickering lights with the ace pro? Especially in low light Szenarios?

How steady were you holding the Ace Pro? I have both the Ace Pro and Pocket 3. The Ace Pro is not nearly as good as the Pocket 3 at night. If I am holding the Ace Pro very still, the video is quite good. But even at Pro Video with Low light stabilization, the Ace Pro causes the light sources to shake in the distance when I am walking with the Ace Pro attached to the GoPro Volta. I wasn't even walking very fast. I'm sure it will do well with a gimbal, but if that's the case, it defeats the purpose of buying it over the Pocket 3 which has amazing night video by the way
the light jitters are really annoying and unfortunately there’s no way to 100% eliminate them completely because of the electronic stabilization but I have found attaching the ace pro to a selfie stick and walking holding it like that does really help with the jitters (which is how I shot this)

nice video i decide finally to order action 4 i think action 4 can have better video but need extra work with ace pro is easy to have very good result but not lens replacement and maybe will have problem with screen later on
thanks 😎 yeah they both have there pro’s and cons… the ace pro can create some really cool things using the insta360 app and it’s obviously better in low light but the action 4 definitely feels more sturdier and gives out more of a natural looking image
Ace Pro is packed with features not to mention its app. If this is your first-time action cam or you are doing both vlogging (perfect framing) & action, this cam is the best of both worlds. If you do hard-core actions or those sports that have a potentially high risk of damaging your lens & flip screen, A4 will be a better fit. Either cam won't go wrong. We can forget about GoPro for now.

I would say it's good enough! The DJI Pocket 3 footage I've seen is better. But this camera is more practical for walking around and vlogging. I have a Pocket 2, and waiting for the gimbal to spin down, plus having to put it back in the case to protect it's delicate little ass, plus the stupid triple-click you have to do to get the camera to switch from facing you to facing out, just makes this more practical for vlogging. The simplest solution is usually the best!
Thank you for the comment! I was on the fence for the entire week deciding between the Ace Pro and Pocket 3 watching reviews and comparisons. The Pocket 3's low light footage is unmatched but for casual travel vlogging, simplest solution really tend to be the best! This comment gave far better insight than any of the comparison videos I watched. Cheers!
