Fabulous information of how to make a perfect setting for Insta360 Ace Pro you provided, thanks for your FYI! I'm 70's and a newbie in photography, to spend my rest time to learn how to take a perfect videos and photos. Good to hear from you again in other tutorial.
Some people online complain that this camera has to use Apps to shoot, so they feel like they're being Spied on! Do you find this a problem for your videography?
Thank you, I love your explaination, I recently bought ace pro as well. but when I record videos while i walk around the city, the background tends to jump a bit when i walk in buildings. When I say jump, I kind of mean it blurs a second then goes back to normal. like it is recalculating the image. Do you have the same issue? If yes then how did you overcome it?
You need to use ND filters filming during the day. If you’re using 30 FPS, the shutter speed needs to be at 60 FPS (whatever fps your recording in, double it). However, when you’re in 30fps and in auto, the camera adjusts its shutter speed higher to allow less light in and give you a better image. The cons with that is you get shutter hop with your image.
You're explanatiom is loud and clear, bro! My acepro is arriving today, and im excited. Thanks for the infos! I love shooting photos and videos for fun and making memories with my family. I will apply those infos to my new acepro . Again, thanks! Liked and subscribed .
Thank u for your helpful video. I do have a question. I want to use the camera for mountain biking and off-roading. My speed will not exceed 20mph. If I do not care about slow motion, am I better off at 30 fps or 60fps in the normal video mode?
What settings do u recomend for underwater videos? I just came from vactions and videos are too blue. I used post production on insta360 studio, but it is still not good. I am thinking about some filters....
I love this camera but since the firmware update it seems to of lost some functionality. Like choose what primary settings you want. Also in Timelapse there’s only 4k not 1080p or 2.7k 30:07. I’m pretty sure it’s had more functionality before I updated the firmware. I’m hoping next firmware has more features.
Hello i have a question. I am totally new to the action camera world. I just bought the Ace Pro. My question is when I'm indoors and i record a video selfie my skin tone looks somewhat reddish. How do I correct that so that my camera will record with normal colors kinda like my phone
Great video - when I film driving at night with my ace pro the street lights have lights sabers shooting out of them. It almost fills the whole camera screen - thoughts on what to adjust to not have that happen? Shooting in 4k/30 - pure video, auto Thanks
Hmmm. That's not something that I experienced. It sounds like the sensor is handling the lights incorrectly. Here's what I would try. 1. Ensure you have the newest firmware 2. Ensure you are using Pure Video mode 3. Maybe try dialing back the EV compensation to -0.5 or -1.0 4. Ensure your lens is clean with no dust or smudges 5. If that all fails, I would reach out to Insta360 and ask them.
The only thing you didnt touch base on is the Micro SD card capacity. I know this opens up a whole can of worms but should I be getting into the 1TB size cards? Do I need a special or better write speed fo the 8K ?
thanks for the review bro, i like how honest you are ! pure video mode looks like crap to me. mine should arrive on monday, i will have to return it, the other reviewers here are so dishonest
You've found your calling. Great video dude, you're a lifesaver. I was nearly at witts end with the images I've been recording. The sharpness was on high 😏 Thanks.
really well spoken and presented, easy to understand, thankyou, i was brought up with film so getting easy to understand intruction is great, i am in my 60s and i loved your tutoiral.
The latest firmware v1.0.35 does not have sharpening in Image Setting now. ??? Only Anti-Flicker, Video Encoding, and Bitrate. What happened to Sharpening???
Very informative, just subscribed! One question - for all normal video taking situation (good light and low light conditions) and also as a convenience, shouldn't I just use "pure video" mode most of the time? Thanks :)
Great Question!- While it probably wouldn't hurt if you did that, you also wouldn't be maximizing all the features that it has to offer. So if I were you, I would just play around and experiment with all the settings until you figure out what works best for you!
Looks like they updated the firmware so you can turn off hdr in all modes which is great. You have a great way of presenting things. I love my GoPro hero 12, but I’m thinking about getting the ace pro as a secondary camera for lower light stuff. Seems like in good light they are both great but in low light the pure video is incredible! I probably will want to use the ace pro for some vlogging so it concerns me a bit that I’ve seen some reviews talking about issues with soft focus at closer focusing, but I think that’s just true about most action cameras. I never have my GoPro closer than about one and a half feet from my face for best results. Luckily I have long arms! ;) Srsly though, how do you think the ace pro performs against the GoPro hero 12? I’m also curious about the little Go3S!
Thanks! Honestly I think it's a pretty close comparison between the two. While the Ace Pro might be a bit better in low light, I wouldn't think it would be worth buying one just for that purpose. The Go3 looks awesome!
Thanks for the review. I got the GoPro Hero 12 creator package a few days ago. I also like the richer image from the GoPro during daytime better than Ace Pro. I'm currently debating whether I should return it to get the Action 4 or Ace Pro instead. However, I'm concerned that the Ace pro is having a focusing problem based on some YT reviewers. I just can't put up with Gopro's trashy image quality in low light situation considering I'll be doing in car talk and install videos. Additionally, it takes an eternity for gopro to recharge.
Great question! Honestly a good phone would do better than either camera if you're not putting the camera into situations where it will get damaged. The focus issue with the Ace Pro is only with close-focus. Anything closer than about 2.5 feet will be a bit soft. The GoPro doesn't have that issue.
26:20 manual settings absolutely destroy auto settings on all action camera's including the Ace Pro. Sad they took away manual settings in Pure video mode, that was GAME changer.
FYI - The video sharpness setting is no longer in Image Settings under general settings...it is located in the Pro Settings when you swipe from the right. I think it got moved during the latest firmware update.
It is low light settings. Not such how you can set a camera up for low light without knowing all of the settings. There are too many variables for a “set and forget” approach.
Thank you. What about the settings for low light photo with the ace pro?

You're very welcome!
The best description i had ever seen , thanks
Wow, thanks!
Some people online complain that this camera has to use Apps to shoot, so they feel like they're being Spied on! Do you find this a problem for your videography?
Nope. I never use the app. I just use the camera to capture footage then dump the footage directly to my computer using a memory card reader.

ND filters and a locked shutter speed at double your frame rate is definitely an option. You could also try turning down the camera stabilization.

Glad you found it helpful! It probably wouldn't hurt to set it at 60fps just in case you want to slow the footage down in the future!
Liked & subbed. you explained everything clearly. I bought this camera to vlog, as it's what i can currently afford. Thank you so much!
Thanks! I'm excited for you, vlogging is such a fun thing to do.
What settings do u recomend for underwater videos? I just came from vactions and videos are too blue. I used post production on insta360 studio, but it is still not good. I am thinking about some filters....
Hmm. I'm not sure on that one. I have little/no experience shooting under water.
I have had the Ace Pro for a couple of months here in the PHILIPPINES and appreciate the tutorial review.
You're welcome!

Weird! Sometimes they do that. Insta360 will remove some functionality to make sure it's optimized, then bring it back in a future update.
Thanks for video but is it possibly to make colors more vivid ?
Thanks for watching! and there is an option to change the picture profile from 'standard' to 'vivid'!
aside from night time, is there a time you should avoid using HDR mode?
Not really, it should do well as long as there is plenty of light in the scene.
In auto settings the camera don't use to higher iso?
It will, but a high ISO is necessary in many cases to prevent taking video that is too dark.
Thank you! Great review
My pleasure!
Off topic? Can I use the FALCAM F22 Quick Release Kit for Insta360 that I use with my Insta 360 X3?
I have no idea. Sorry!
Comprehensive and informative thanks from Scotland
Thank you for watching!
I don’t have video sharpness 👀👀👀👀👀 what should I do?
Love your presentation 👍
Thanks so much!

Hi, thanks for watching! As for your question, try manually adjusting your white balance for your indoor scene and go from there!
Great video - when I film driving at night with my ace pro the street lights have lights sabers shooting out of them. It almost fills the whole camera screen - thoughts on what to adjust to not have that happen?
Shooting in 4k/30 - pure video, auto

I specially like your custom settings for low light and the rest. Good job mate.
Glad you like them!

I'd stick to 128GB or 256GB cards personally. And yes, I would buy a nice fast micro-SD card from SanDisk and you should be all set!
thanks for the review bro, i like how honest you are ! pure video mode looks like crap to me. mine should arrive on monday, i will have to return it, the other reviewers here are so dishonest
Glad I could help!

Yeah, that setting is now handled on a per-mode basis, not globally.

My Ace Pro doesn't have image sharpness to adjust.
It still does! it's just in the Pro Settings space when you swipe right.

Muito bom! Muito didático!👍
I bought one😊
