  • This weekend, lets dive into the SG751 'SAPR' manufactured in Neuhausen, Switzerland by SiG-Sauer AG (formerly SAN). First we will go into the design and development, followed by military service and a look at the factory variants. After that, we disassemble the firearm to checkout the mechanics, and finally we end with running a few rounds through a 16" carbine.
    My location and situation do not allow me to give the SAPR a fair review for accuracy, range, and group size; however, I know just the man to run this firearm through its paces...

    I was riding the tram in Geneva one day and saw a group of young men walk onto the train from the station with slung 7.62 rifles. I'm obviously American (baseball cap) and we made eye contact. I wanted so badly to chat them up about the guns, but sadly I had to go to work. I've spent a lot of time in Geneva and have grown to love Helvetia, even the French parts.

    I love the sound of rolling .308 thunder through the hills. When I break out the ACE .308 in my backyard range, one of my neighbors down the street say im shooting "howitzers." Although I haven't heard that term since I put a smith vortex flash hider on it. The standard brake is.......pretty insane.

      Back in school, we once had one of those huge cans of beans...like you would see in a lunchroom kitchen? Well someone tossed it in the fire and no one noticed it for sometime. Now that was a big boom heard throughout the mountains....and roasted beans over everything for many, many feet.

    I got really confused when sigs started to appeal to me a few years back.. I still cannot figure out why 2 separate companies go by the same name

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Happens all the time. HK-USA and HK GMBH are actually 2 totally different companies. SIG-Sauer Inc. started off importing SIG/SIG-Sauer AG/GMBH products from Europe. Over time, the US company started doing its own things and going its own direction. These days SIG-Sauer GMBH has closed, and so the factory in Switzerland now is named SIG-Sauer AG. There are also 2 different "Walther" companies in Germany + Walther-USA Right here in Arkansas.

      What about the first gen P320’s that had a special fire rate increase when dropped at thigh bruiser level? Or the P227 that literally struggled with FMJ? I would mention the P365 but they actually fixed it pretty fast and the people having issues were kinda abusing them.

    God I wish more semi auto 7.62x51/308 rifles were being produced, like I get that we need to have a super low recoil round to keep the pretty girls and yanks on the force but having that extra power is much better.

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a time & place for 5.56 NATO, and same goes for 7.62 NATO. Hopefully, the military never tries a one-size-fits-all cartridge. We need different rounds because tehre are so many different applications and situations.
