The wires are too short and that's why they break when you open and close the trunk. It happened to me under warranty on my '03 Coupe and Infiniti fixed it by crimping it back together. It broke again, so I fixed it right the second time. I added wire to give it slack so it wouldn't break again. I soldered it and used heat shrink. It's been over 10 years now and works fine.
How did you get the clips off so easily? I have been prying and prying and they won't budge. One has even broke (the head) but the shaft is still in there
Mines the opposite. Mine won't latch close. Earlier this year, I took my G to Nissan, had them look at it, and got it fixed for like $175. A week later, it wouldn't latch close again 😒
