I've had my 2007 G35 coupe 6mt since 2012. The car is a beauty. Its been so reliable for me all these years. The passenger seat is not ripped in that usual place due to the fact that I keep it moisturized with leather cleaner/conditioner all the time. I have 192,000 miles on it now and the only thing that I had to do was change 2 oxygen sensors out of the 4, replace the radiator(Mishimoto aluminum with Silicon Hoses) which went out at around 150,000 and replaced the clutch(Exidy Stage 2) Other than that, no other problems. Windows motors work perfectly. It was burning oil though at around 1 quart per 1000 miles. To remedy the oil burning problem, I just switched to 10W40 synthetic blend from 5W30 full synthetic. Seems to have fixed the problem so far. Just had coils changed yesterday(Hitachi) and NGK Laser Iridium plugs. Was going to sale car for and electric vehicle, but now it is so sweet that I'm going to keep it for another year or 2
Hey brotha I'm burning oil in mine too around the same amount 1Quart per 1k miles. Did switching oil cause any problems with time? Did it do anything to the performance long term?
@@eduardotrejo1445 So far, So good. Switching to 10/30 stopped the oil consumption and made the car seem a bit smoother. Its been roughly 2000 miles now on 10/30 and only lost about 1/2 quart. So this worked for me. Only drawback is that now my car has lost a few miles per gallon. Before, I would average 200 miles per 1/2 tank of gas. Now, I average 175 per half tank.
I’ve got a few problems with mine like a few electrical things but most of my electrics were caused by a bad battery that burnt one of my fuses I used the spare that comes with the car to replace it and now all my cabin lights turn on and my drivers sides seat moves forward too a lot of my more serious problems are normal for the car when lack of maintenance comes to play like my fuel gauge reader is dirty and I gotta reseal my sunroof but my more serious problems are replacing my clock springs, aligning the steering wheel, and my crankshaft and camshaft sensors going out

it’s recommended to change all that beforehand so the tune doesn’t mess with the engine basically add on all the aftermarket parts you want first then tune it.

My fuel gauge problem was caused by the Climate Control Module AC Heater AMP p/n 27760JK700. Cleaned both sensors and no help. Easy swap as it is just above the CD player.
if your fuel gauge is messed it might be a battery issue. Not getting enough power to the fuel gauge. either clean the battery or replace it, and if its still happening then you should consider replacing the fuel sensor or fixing the voltage issue
Testing the battery periodically should be something people do so you don’t get a surprise later down the road, as for fuel gauge issue, there’s plenty of things that it could be, contacts on the float get dirty and can be a simple wipe, could just be a faulty unit at that point that worn out, can also be a cluster issue, wiring, etc. Diagnosis is key so you don’t go down the rabbit hole of spending money to not fix the problem!

I need your expertise when I start up my 2004 infinity G35 Sedan cold start it rattles almost sounds like there's no Oil it only does it on cold starts
That’s something after I uploaded the video I realized I should’ve talked about!! The most common cause of this rattle is the primary timing chain tensioner. What it does is after you turn the car off it bleeds down instead of holding pressure. So when you start the engine, the tensioner is not primed and is allowing the chain to rattle. But it only takes a second or so for it to prime. That is why you are getting the rattling when starting when cold.

I also have a 2004, since ownership (bought with 50k, now has 100k) ive run into; passenger cam sensor took a dump, thermostat took a dump causing the fans to run at 100% all the time, passenger door lock actuator JUST went out. I fixed all issues myself using genuine nissan parts, except for door lock actuator as it JUST happened. not too bad for an 18 year old car
I feel you, I’m super anal about my car that I change a lot of things that I know are weak points so I don’t have to worry about it anymore! Genuine for a lot of parts is a must but there’s components where you can save TONS of money and are even better than oem!
Have two Infinitis a HR and DE and had too replace valve covers on both. Yea that coolant bleeder port bursted on me after I got my water pump fixed on my HR 😂. I replaced mine with a medal one too.
Have had my ‘03 sport coupe for 3 months and only issue I’ve had was throttle position sensor code issue and mofo would go into limp mode Changed throttle body and after replacing terminals haven’t had the issues for over 2k miles. Oil consumes crazy. Changed plugs and one of the cylinder had oil in it, hopefully it’s just gasket and not a ring..
What is limp mode?
@@CHRIS56585 basically car goes into a safety mode and you can’t go past a certain speed
But it goes away after a couple minutes but usually returns. It’s awful
@@DankGearFit damn mines having a problem where the idle will sit at 650- 700rpm normal and then start bouncing and it just turns off on me sometimes
Diagnosis is key so you don’t go down the rabbit hole of spending money to not fix the problem!
good vid bro they are good cars if you take care of them and install oem or better stuff. also cleaning your grounds (there one next to the intake, one under the coolant tank, and two in front of the timing cover.) will help alot
Definitely a good tip! I installed two extra grounds!
The high flow point value will go out!! Replace ASAP!!
I had most of these issues lol and with the gas fuel gauge not working I cleaned it it worked great after
Haha once you address all the issues you really do have a reliable car! Yeah cleaning it seems to do the trick for the most part :)
What did you clean exactly?
@@DarkMan2555 I removed my fuel pump once you have it out you’ll be able to see what I’m talking about. Search up how to fix my fuel gauge reading on a g35 and there’s plenty of videos explaining how to clean it use a q tip
@@gerodriguez1993 Thanks dude. I'll watch a video or two and take a look at it when I get a chance 👍

Good job i'm taking time bomb... The bleeder valve radiator coupling will call shoe an entire motor.. As it cost me 3 grand... Definitely something a vq'er should do
Welcome back bro , watching from Las Vegas
I replaced my window motor once for the driver side, then the passenger side gave out and I couldn’t roll my window, then 6 months later the motor worked again lol, then a few weeks later it stopped working, then it later on AGAIN started working and it’s been working for 5 months now this car is crazy bro.
Just bought an 05 . Thank you brother for the heads up
On my 04 G35X I went through wheel bearings constantly, had to replace 2 flex pipes, my all wheel drive shaft the bearings went, i ended up getting a 2011 Infinity G37X, at 150 i had wheel bearings replaced under extended warranty, gas tank sensor and flushed out my AC and recharged it, no cost.
Dam that’s crazy but awesome you didn’t pay a dime or do the work! I have heard that they’ll chew through wheel bearings and axles fast with alot of the autoparts store brands!
@@JoeVazquez I finance my car and they gave me a supreme extended warranty and it only cost a $1000 I had close to $8000 worth of work done off the warranty, you could take your vehicle anywhere in the country for repairs, i took it to the Infinity Dealership for every repair, i only paid $300 for eight grand in repairs, it also included free towing each time,
Door locks✅, fuel gauge✅, head gasket✅, oil consumption✅, window motor✅ all issues I’ve had or currently have lol I’ve owned my 05 G35 for almost 10 years gave me almost no issues up until recently but it’s a old car only getting older loved it but it’s time to move on I got a kid now my time with the G is up getting her ready to be sold soon going to miss it so much lowkey having selling remorse but it’ll be next door lol so I’ll still see it everyday 😅 good and bad thing
All valid points, you pretty much nailed all the common problems. Nice microphone BTW
Appreciate it bro, and I was basically eating the mic when I was recording by how close it was 😭😂
I had all of those.problems..also my dashboard is cracking..and the seams on my seats are splitting
I've had mine for about a year driven it everyday, only issue I've had is oil consumption 1quart every 1200 miles and my radiator blew but still going strong at 215,000 miles
Are these turbo or naturally aspirated.
Yeah
Bonus problem radio & bearings
G35 trunk actuator wire breaking and also window rolling itself down a few inches problem.
Great video with a lot of good info good job. I have the old three G35 Infiniti. Just purchased it non-running. Turns out it tranks over but won't start check engine light does not come on at all plugged into OBD port and error comes on scanner. Also cranked it while watching RPM needle and needle does nothing.? I definitely need help on this issue if any thank you.
Crank/camshaft sensors will give you that exact scenario
I had window actuator or motor problem on the both doors regularly on my 04
I’m a e46 owner, and My mom brought a g35 for the family car. Now my e46 on jack stands imma have to do more research for g35. Just got a check engine light outta no where today. Im assuming it’s the cam and crank sensors. Until I get it scanned later today.
The G35 I’m looking at has some of these problems.. lmao at least the gas gauge and window motors. Good video tho I suggest using a flashlight when u showing things under the car or tucked back in the bay… I couldn’t see shit 😂
Hence the oil consumption regarding my Miata was worse hahah. Mine has been reliable, one thing if your reading this and gong to buy one. Be ready to spend loads of money on these gas guzzling beasts. Other then that they have power and are a comfortable ride. Just installed a Z1 y pipe and ISR cat back! Good combo. Has the nice deep trumpet tone and sounds soft
I lose power sometime what could it be. I just change both camshafts sensor and air flow sensors
Hey man I just kinda stumbled upon your video, and honestly it really helped me out a lot. I’m about to go get an 04 g35 auto bone stock. And I didn’t know what to look for on it and now I do 😅 appreciate the help man, and keep the videos up I’ll definitely be watching all your videos of the g the next couple days lol
How was your experience with it trying too get one before the year ends
I have my 2006 g35 coupe automatic for 2 years now. No major problems till recently. It has valve cover leak which has been going on for a while till recently I found out the problem. I am going to fix it once I am back home soon from college.
what are symptoms of a valve cover leak?
@@scotteberline5458 sliver part on side of valve cover should be shiny not covered with oil. If it is covered with oil. You should replace the valve cover before it gets worse. It is on both sides. If one is leaking. Replace both I would recommend
Sorry for spam lol, also cleaned the fuel sensor unit and still gave me no luck on gas gauge. Tip:I know to fill up when the orange light indicates next to the gas gauge.

07 Infiniti g35 coupe 100k 6 speed for $2450 no check engine light drives great
Good stuff as always
I fixed mine using the GR one,
Cam and crank sensor issue sometimes related to the timing problem
Extremely rare case on these de’s but every Infiniti from this generation I’ve had has had the sensors go out at around 110,000-125,000 miles!
I’m smelling burnt oil but with visual inspection can’t spot oil on block or ground
Wheels lock up and VDC and slip light comes on after driving and then they free up
My parents make is seem like this car while break down every two weeks they keep thinking that this car is very bad
THIS SHI IS CRAZY BECAUSE EVERY PROBLEM YOUVE SAID I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE🤦🏽♂️😭😭
Yeahhhh
you forgot to mention the trunk problem that it was designed too short and prone to get snap :D
You’re right, I found out about that one pretty recently!
Yep, my 06 G35 sedan 5AT non-revup has had most of these problems. Luckily, I have not had any issues with the door lock actuators or window motors. My G35 still somehow has the plastic bleeder valve and I'm at 161k miles. I will eventually replace it for peace of mind lol. My gas gauge is slightly inaccurate, but may have been fixed with some iso-heet water remover/fuel system cleaner.
That’s awesome that the cars running good! 🙏
My gas gauge is slightly wack, I have the 06 g35 sedan automatic version and it won’t switch into the manual mode, my seats don’t move because the seat Motors are messed up I think and my sun roof won’t close either lmao I hate this car
@@luizferreira5207 Those all sound like electrical issues. I'm not very knowledgeable on electrical stuff. You should be able to close the sunroof manually, but I would look up a video on this just to be sure. Best of luck to you
The actuators are going out on mine, so my aftermarket alarm honks at me right when I unlock my door
My radio does what it wants, keep blowing expensive headlight amd the car loses power while driving, it's currently sitting on the side of the turnpike

Transmission grinding and windows rolling down half way
I need your expertise when I start up my 2004 infinity G35 Sedan cold start it rattles almost sounds like there's no Oil it only does it on cold starts
Hey I own a 2003 g35 coupe currently having an issue with popping sound from exhaust car is nowhere near as loud as it was I miss the loud thing so much plus starting to backfire only rarely ok so other than the popping not as loud and loss of power issue I unplugged my maf plugged it back in engine lights on though is running a lot smoother barely makes the popping sound but still bit quiet and not as much power please help lol

Greetings, Jorge I have some issue with pedal accelator pedal i ready remplace sensor and body trothel any recommendations on ur expertise
How much oil does it burn and how much oil should i add ? Ive been trying to find out cause i own one. The dip stick is a bitch to test with aswell lol
Try sanding the dipstick where the little low abs high is with 100 grit and it’ll help a ton with making it easier to read! From low to high on the dipstick is one quart, so if you’re halfway then add half a quart of oil :)
Even sanding it didn’t help. It’s because there is a curve no matter how you pull it out it’s going push the oil off the dip stick
Works great for me!
right ... @@2ndhk552 I noticed that today...dip stick does not accurately tell oil. I had oil all the way up my dip stick lol
