Hey dude, just wanted to thank you for this tip - it had resolved a long standing frustration with these doors. Install was easy and results are oem++ =)
When the passenger door stayed open I laughed in disbelief. I have had this car for years and learned to live with it, but if I ever get the itch to fix something on my car I know what to do.

Before ditching the old strap why not try just drilling and inserting a small shallow rounded screw head or JB Weld a flat washer on the top of the high points? Worth a try since you don't have to remove the door panel.
Only downside is that door opens a little less, because GTR part is shorter compared to g35. But anyway its very very easy fix for such an anoying issue. Thanks for sharing part numbers!!
I just brought these parts so im so glad u did this video, but could you do it again where your car isnt close to the fence so you can show if you can fully open it and show it stays open..also is there a genuine part number for the nut that goes to the gtr studs I like to use everything genuine so I kno u used an aftermarket nut but just wondering if you could have that part number!! Hope you can redo this video lmk on this all good shit bro!!
I think they made them to close that way I own an o4 G coupe 6sp and I love that my doors close AUTOMATICALLY 😊 one of the best feature accidental or not
You can also go to a salvage yard and get one from other makes and models for like $10 each 😂take your old one and match it up..I think I ended up with one from a Hyundai 👍

found another G coupe to buy but it’s in Florida I’m in Newyork so people think I’m crazy for flying down and towing around it back up it’s an 03 g coupe 6sp in white the one I currently own it’s a an o4 in black I’m super excited I watch that g price rise video you made often and I’m betting on that video I’m from the 90s and I missed out on owning the 90s jdm Jems that are priced astronomically high these days I’m holding on to both and waiting too see what happens 🤘🏾👏🏾👍🏾
@@lunarvision these are gtr ones designed for a r35 heavy door. The ones that come from factory on the 350z were designed for sedans with shorter lighter doors. Same goes for the hinges

@@ssjdavid you wont even notice. i park in a closed garage, and previously my door touched the wall. Now it fully opens - thats how i noticed 🙂

sedan is slightly different but should fit aswell. i'm going to do it on my sedan and let you know bro.
