    I use to kick up like nothing and I didnt do it for a few years and then one day I was going to show my friend that I could do it and I failed and realized i couldn't do it anymore. It was embarrassing.

      Actually I was wrong it feels like you are getting the hang of it when you do it forward but you are actually not. It is supposed to be an upward motion.

      @@siegejiren3125 I think that is supposed to happen as you learn. You gotta really lift yourself almost to a candle position my friend says (who can do kip ups) also I trained kip ups in a judo dojo. Which have mats... So my tailbone didn't get bruised. I was able to get myself on my feet but I kept falling back from there. Maybe training sissy squats would help idk

    Actually worked. I found out the the step when u land in a full bridge is the best. Ur basically already up and if u practise that u get it

    I literally used to do this for fun. I got lazy and packed on muscle and some fat over the years and just stopped doing it. Then one day I attempted it and couldn't do it anymore. I shit you not, after watching this video I relearned how to do it in less than an hr. Bro, you're an awesome teacher.

    Took me an hour and a half but I finally managed to land it! What a buzz! My biggest issue was I wasn’t generating enough power because I find it really difficult to bend my wrists into that position to push off the floor. Was close to giving up but decided to give it my all and managed it so thanks for the advice!

    Thank you so much. At the beginning when you mentioned committing I didn't think it applied to me and my attempts, however by the end I realized every time I attempt it my hands instantly tried to stop me from falling and more often then not it's behind my body which meant I wasn't committing to it.

    The faster you do it, the less knee bend you have on landing I just figured it out! It's like an instant slingshot

      Kick your legs and push your arms as hard as you can, kick your legs in the direction you wanna go, not up. Also timing, think of your body like a spring, when you kick your legs I recommend pushing arms when your legs start to get to the ground, don't give up you got this

    2 months of practice consistently almost every day and I’m stuck at stage 4. I can land in a squat but I immediately fall backwards and that’s the best I can do. Help???

    I tried my times , I am not able to take my chest up. Legs are doing fine . I try to push with my hands , my chest goes up for some time and then slams back down .
    How to improve on this ?

      Seems like you gotta get your hips higher. Think of it as where your hips and legs go, the rest of your body follows. Try kicking your legs and hips over an imaginary fence and the rest of your body will follow. Just make sure you commit to it. Any hesitation will pull you down.

    I think the "try to find your balance" came to me when i noticed that i need to launch my body over my heels. Launcing over the heels and posting as close to my botocks got me into that lowest form of kip up.

    For bottom rock or footwork, you have to put your weight on your fingers and toes right? if so, are there any exercises or activity to make your fingers more flexible and strong?

      You aren't looking your fingers to be strong but your forearm which gives you the strength to hold anything, focus on your grip strength. Dead hangs help A LOT

      Try in your bed or something soft. You will get out your fear and you could do with more force. And then in the ground. For example me, in my first 3 days I couldn't do anything haha, also I realized that I was doing bad. The 4 day I was like "I can't, but I will try it", and I did it wothou fear, so I could pull myself up and land. But in my bed hahaha. Now I m going to the ground

    Tried to do a backwards roll, hurt my wrists. Tried this and got to step 4, sprained both wrists... I have issues

    Any tips? I’m having a lot of trouble pushing my arms off the ground. I can kick but I can’t manage to push my arms hard enough off the ground to like spring up. Help

      Can you do do the bridge? Have you try to do the kip and then do the bridge? Or maybe you are afraid, because without scare you could make better. I can't help you because I am learning too. Also I am not an English speaker, so I can't explain you with details. I can do the kip up in my bed, but not in the ground. My back is hitting with the ground all of the time... Ouch 😫. If I had a garden or maybe something soft, but not like my bed...

    Very nice vid and training, thanks! One thing -- you are the first person I've ever heard refer to this is a "kick up"; always heard it referred to as a "kip up"

    I can’t seem to push my body up with my arms. What do I do? I lift every day so I have fine upper body strength, but they seem to shrivel up and become weak whenever I try to push up
