I think potentially reviewers are scraping the barrel with how much better each iPhone is than the last one. And I'm an apple fan! Most people end up using them for selfies, the odd snap, texting and sometimes....phones! I pretty much do the same on my current phone that I did on my first one. Could be I am a light user though!

I have a question about the 5X lens on the iPhone 15 Pro max. It is usually referred to as a zoom lens. In photography, a zoom lens means the lens is able to change focal lengths. Is the 5X lens able to optically change focal lengths, or is it actually a fixed focal length lens?
It's not a zoom lens, it's fixed. This came across as a zoomable lens when I first heard about it. Many camera guys think the now missing 3X lens is a bad idea as that lens is more useful 'in general' over the 5X lens. It seems a 1X, 3X and a 5X is what they should had done.
I went from the 12 pro max to the 14 pro max. I was sooo tempted by the reduced notch of the 13 but I’m glad I waited another year. Even though my carrier EE now offers an anytime during contract upgrade for only £100, I can’t justify it at the moment. I think that by skipping a generation, you genuinely feel like you really have a new device to play with. I think the 15 pro max is ideal just now for anyone who has any iteration of the 13 pro. Good review though✌️
Such a difficult resolution - case or caseless. I've been using an iPhone since version 4 and never had one break or crack. I might just've been very lucky and there's been a few drops in that time. My one rule, don't put anything else in the same pocket as the phone. Think I'll be going caseless when my arrives.
I'm honestly surprised this isn't common sense... Recently i learned people even put their keys and phone in the same pocket, with the keys FACING THE SCREEN. Then they complain about scratches. Wtf? Lol
My fave feature of the 15 Pros has to be the lighter titanium frame. My kids bought the mid year green 13 Pro, and l've always disliked the weight of their phone. Having held the new Pro phones in my local Apple Store, colour me impressed. I'll definitely be upgrading from my XS to a 15 Pro next year, ... just haven't decided which one. Also planning on using a bumper and MagSafe grip - showing off whatever colour I choose, and very safe. Thanks as always for the content.
My personal option I upgraded from the 13 pro max an I must say it really wasn’t worth me spending the money. I feel like I’m staring at the same phone!

People put phones in their back pockets, and that could potentially break or bend the phone when sitting on it. This isn't an issue with the previous iPhone or other phones
Things I’ve learned: how annoying security authentication is these days!!!! It’s gone from being easy to do something, to total security authentication on fifty devices to just log in!!!
If you prefer the photographic style of the Pixel, you might be able to tune the iPhones camera a bit in that direction using photographic styles. For me it's the weight of the smaller iPhone 15 Pro that made me finally give up my iPhone 13 mini and have a telephoto lens again, that I was missing so much...
The build quality of iPhones and software support needs to be considered …I bought a 13 256gb 2 years ago , still like new 89% battery health , I’ll get another year at least before battery needs replacing ..point being , it has been great VALUE for money , had I known the VALUE it would give me I may have gone a bit higher and got either the pro model or 512 gb ….possibly both

The durability question is relevant for those of us with coordination issues, but who do not want to purchase a 60 hz screen. I can tell the difference, 60 hz is uncomfortable to look at, and my eyesight is not good as it is. The thing I wonder is, how safe is it with a case? I understand that it can still crack, but how easily? Coordination issues not exaggerated here)))
My iPhone Xs Max suffices as it stays in my pocket except for the rare phone call and to drive my watch. For everything else I have an affordable Android with 12 GB Ram and big battery.

Google do not deign to sell their phones here in NZ so there’s no competition in that direction. Vegan leather is just plastic. Let’s use real leather. I really wish Apple would use metal on the back, not glass. Also, zero AppleStores in New Zealand at all, so I’ve never solved a problem that way - we have to get things sorted out via Australia!

Another way to enjoy your phone again is trying to use every useful features which exists, right now. I own a 13 Pro and since few weeks, i'm using much more Shortcuts, Automation, Focus Mode, Interactive Widgets: it's like a new phone 😉

Obviously, seeing as the tripod doesn’t charge, this is very misleading. I hope nobody bought the tripod with this use in mind. Guessing you could use your MagSafe puck or a charging cable, but it’ll not look half as good/clever
Nah Pixel 8 Pro is way better for photos. Using full resolution 50mp even zooming with 5x and 10x is fantastic detail and at night too. Don't like Apple processing
If the case is white, especially made out of leather (vegan or real), I'd wager that slight yellowing would actually be preferable to what this one will look like after a while 🤷♀️
I find it ironic that you are doing a 30 day review and according to Apple, I have to wait at least 30 days before they ship the phone I ordered on day one. Disappoint.
If most, if not all, flagships do not break with a bend test, but Apple’s does, then that is a problem with Apple. 1.2k for a phone should not break by bending it if others do not.
Many others have broken when bending, the pixel fold for example an £1800 phone! Oneplus, asus ROG phone, plus few others have also broken, the thing is during that test he’s putting ALOT of force in, force that with day to day use the phone shouldn’t really get put under.
OK, about that case “dilemma”; let’s suppose you had a “trophy wife (or husband)”, would you parade him/her around in public “butt naked?” … I rest my “case” (pun intended.) 😎
