Even i do charge my Samsung A50 till 80% and then drain it till red line (10%-15%) and my battery saver is always on and it seems that this cycle sure does help in extended battery life over few years 💯 it is not harmful Lets see what Dion has to say on this..
There’s no way of telling if the 80% option is useful until you’ve surpassed 6 to 8 months of use, my 14 pro dropped from 100 to 99% after six months, I’m using the 80% option to see if it takes longer to drop
Yes. Lithium batteries have three enemies - heat, full charging, battery drain. Kepp your phone between 80% and 20%, and your battery will surely last a lot longer
That is not true, on 22 June 2022 I remember having seen the sun :). I am from the Netherlands, where we check the weather all the time. Happy Holidays
@mutlsam I recently swapped to Apple from years of Samsung experience. One thing I really loved about Samsung as someone who’s so clingy and sensitive about battery health was that Samsung had an option called Protect Battery which would basically limit the charging to 85%. Before switching to Apple, I also saw they’ve brought it to the iPhones as 80% limit with iOS 17. Though, because of budgeting, I bought an iPhone 12 and apparently it doesn’t have the option to limit the charging. So I’m having second thoughts about this device. Afterall, my essential reason to buy an iPhone was because I recently owned a Mac.
These battery limits don’t actually preserve battery life. This misconception is based on the idea that charging your phone to 100% completes a cycle and causes battery degradation, but that’s not how it works. A battery cycle completes when 100% of the battery has been charged, not when the battery has been charged to 100%. There’s a difference.
I "upgraded" from my XS and I have to say so far I really hate the sharp edges, its super uncomfortable to hold. The hardware upgrades seem relatively minor overall.
I just got the 15 Pro this year. And this is a great video, but HOLY MOLY - I just saw you use the Long-Press-Hold on the spacebar to use as a kind of mouse and it blew my mind! How long has that been a feature?!? I feel so uninformed!!
Charging your phone overnight won’t hurt it. What hurts your phone’s battery is leaving it above 80% charged. You want to keep it between 20% and 80% if possible. That will make the battery degrade slowly. But it’s not that big of a deal, it’s gonna hardly affect things so just don’t worry about it. And your phone will only overheat if you’re placing it under your pillow while charging or something. Just don’t intentionally make it hot and it won’t be
Recently I bought a iPhone 15 pro & it’s got too many bugs and glitches. For example: even a certain contact number is blocked i get calls from that numbers. Sometimes unable to save contact number inspite of pressing done button multiple times. Sometimes it gets hanged and I won’t be able to anything unless I lock and unlock the handset. I went to iPhone care and the entire iOS reinstalled but no use. What to do? I’m an iPhone user since 12 years but never seen such issues
Hi, sorry to hear. I have not heard many with so many bugs and problems. Probably it might have to do with the hardware, so you have to take it Apple. I hope by now you have worked it out. Happy bug and glitch free 2024!

Hello! I just bought iphone 15 pro but I see that battery drains fast , it lasts about 5h 30m for every charge. It also shows that I have ,, Ongoing device setup” and maybe it is because of this. Other opinions?
