    On this weeks episode, making its channel debut, we take a look at the PO-33 KO! by teenage engineering. This absolutely FIRE pocket sized sampler is a personal favorite of mine. While their are drawbacks like the limited sample size it more then makes up for it with unique tone and portability.
    I want to give a special thank you to ‪@RickyTinez‬ and his brilliant video on slicing samples, as well as ‪@OllieLoops‬ and ‪@LiamKillen‬ , I honestly couldn’t wrap my head around this thing and they made it very easy to understand and build my own workflow.

      Yup totally agree my ONLY thing is I wish you could just activate record with the mic instead of having to hold it, that way you can record a handclap, etc

    Not sure about Kenny G being anykind of cheat code to help music making but hey to each his own! (and your beat is great anyway)

    Dude looks like a 70s serial killer with that mustash but nice beat I just finished a masterpiece on the KO I ended up recording it into the tuscam and made it stereo sort the e.q and put compression on it ...what a difference almost sounds like it was made on an MPC or something

    Hey bird boss. Idk if this helps. Usually when I find a chop in a song, I have it in like Audacity and select the clip. I record and stop when the sample stops in Audacity, and I tend to get a good recording in the 33 in one go this way. You might have worked this out already considering when this video was uploaded

    • @BirdBoss
      @BirdBoss  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey nice tip never used audacity but a lot of people mention it

    • @edboymovies
      @edboymovies 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @BirdBoss word, it's fine for simple stuff. I've tried something similar in Ableton but the sample keeps looping if selected, making stopping at the right time tricky. If you do Fruity Loops, I got nothing lol I had trouble learning that software. If it's straight from vinyls and tapes or whatever that's beyond my timing/sampling skill since I don't have such gear

    Do you need any type of interface to record a beat ?

    • @BirdBoss
      @BirdBoss  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don’t need an interface necessarily you could always record the beats into something like a stereo cassette deck that has a microphone input and record direct to tape, but it won’t be digitized, that’s for texture and archive. Some phones (not iPhones) have the ability to record line in from the aux port. Best bet is just get the cheapest USB interface you can find, get the adapter necessary for your phone and record it using your phone. There’s a decently detailed vid on my page explaining my setup it’s super simple (and cheap)

    how did you delete your drums after adding your sample over it? I'm very new to the P.O hehe very inspiring work!!

    • @BirdBoss
      @BirdBoss  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Make a pattern with drums and sample, copy the pattern to another slot and remove the drums. If you hold down record you can edit the notes just tap whatever it lit up red to remove it

    How do you loop the drums and the sample at the same time ?

    • @BirdBoss
      @BirdBoss  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The drums are in the melodic section and the sample is in the drum section. When you copy from melodic to drums it chops it into 16 equal parts. In melodic Is where I do my drums, one kick with a hi hat attached and a snare with a hi hat attached

    • @BirdBoss
      @BirdBoss  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hit export in Koala by tapping the shelf button in top right. That pops out a .wav file of your beat, from there I open the beat in AudioShare and export as mp3 but there’s tons of sites to do this for free just type wav to mp3 in google
