I keep forgetting that Amy's sense of humor is as high as the moon.

Vince’s visible annoyance at the producer cracks me up. He’s just got no filter on his emotions.

Lol @ 5:20-ish when Vince has a slightly visible recoil when the producer corrects how he sang a line and he asks "are you an exacto-freak?" ;)

Amy Grant's marriage to her first husband, the drug and alcohol addicted Gary Chapman, was extremely unhappy long before she even met Vince Gill. (He kept his addictions secret until he married her.) She has never revealed the truth about the suffering she had to endure at the hands of Gary, for the sake of her 3 children by him. Hence she became the target of criticism in the Christian world. She said that one day the truth will be revealed, hence, she is content to stay silent. Gary Chapman was also extremely jealous of Amy's success.

This is when Amy was first attracted to Vince. I don't think it took much for him to get "snagged" by her. And his wife Janis was blind sided. Vince should have run the other way because he was married. They both gave into temptation before they were divorced. Amy left love notes to Vince in his golf bag. They are happy together today-------------but at whose expense???

Both were in unhappy marriages. Janis is a Jehovah's Witness and Vince isn't. When he and Amy got together he remarked that for the first time in almost twenty years he had celebrated Christmas. Vince and Amy are two-sides of the same whole. I wish them happiness. And for the record, I didn't know they had to ask your permission to get together.

I'm glad someone else has considered the truthful picture not just the Oh!! How Wonderful!!!
I was in college ascertaining my master's degree watching a Christmas special while I studied; it was around the time the movie was released with House of Love as the theme song. They appeared and I thought she looked at him like a starry eyed high school girl with an obvious crush. They asked her what her Christmas wish was she responded all teary starry eyed "to sing this Christmas duet song with you" . From a discernment stand point I thought that doesn't look good however, I dismissed it she had just recently appeared on the cover of Christianity Today with Gary Chapman and I knew she was married.
Subsequently, I don't remember how many years later all the controversy appeared in the media regarding them.
She is under no obligation to be honest with the public but, from observation and several other incidents, I felt it was apparent she set her eyes on him and pursued him until she caught him. Him being a man wouldn't have a clue.
I just never felt she was completely honest. She stated in an interview they were neighbors and crossed paths for years for fund raisers and special events.
Obviously it has worked out well for her they have been together twenty years. However, I will always think there was more to it than she admits.
There was also an album she released during the time she was waiting on him to leave his wife " I just want to see you smile" it's all right there. He commented in the media right after he left his wife " don't blame Amy"
She was in an unhappy marriage it's her life. I appreciate her music I just do not feel she was honest. She herself may not have realized what she was doing.
My big question is: I am curious if she resides in the same house with Gill that she lived in with Chapman; the two-hundred and eighty acre farm we all paid for by buying her music.

To Catlucky: One more thing, I cannot resist: their daughter Corrina despite what the well wishers and do good impresses think, she cannot carry a tune. Literally can not carry a tune, her voice cracks as she holds a note. She is left no other option than to attempt to immulate Sarah McLaughlin on the piano. Her voice does not have a tone quality you would want to listen too or purchase. Her gifts and talents from God I'm confident are in other areas. Even her parents success and name are not going to be enough to cover her or carry her.
Could comment more but, will refrain.

@@debrastarr9147 Man, you must be wildly unhappy in your life to spend so much time and effort commenting on others lives and trying desperately to spin your delusional perception as any morsel of fact. Why not just funnel that energy into your own? Who do you think you are to tell anybody how they should live their life? If Corrina wants to be a singer, she will be and you have no say in it. Your attitude is judgemental and abhorrent. Not to mention pathetic. Do better.
