After reading some of these comments below, I wonder if those who are so critical of Vince and Amy know anything about them. If you don't, isn't it wrong to throw stones at them? The media lies and lies. I would rather believe what Vince and Amy said than what comes out of the mouths or pens of reporters.

I was in a really bad marriage. Sadly, I was the only one who wanted to do anything to make things better. These two gave me hope that better is possible. The stalking comment was totally a joke. Amy and her first husband had serious on-going marital issues before she ever met Vince. Part of the problem was that he refused to admit there were problems. When Vince’s marriage fell apart she could have left her husband immediately. She did not. She stayed, they did counseling. When all hope of repairing what was broken was gone, she left. Things have not worked out the same for me. But I am infinitely happier than I ever could have been had we stayed together.
I have been a fan of Vince Gill since he began his career. He did not think of himself as perfect; anything but. After his marriage ended, he would not say anything bad about his wife. The only thing I heard him say was that she would not allow him to bring a Christmas tree into their home, even though they had a child, so he would rent a motel room and put a tree there for his daughter. I felt sorry for the breakup of his marriage, but I do not believe it was because of Amy Grant. When a marriage ends, only God and the people involved really know what caused it.
When I discovered that Amy Grant had been in a difficult relationship, and had the strength to leave, it helped me so much. I was in a very difficult relationship, but it was still difficult to leave, thinking of all the damage and pain it would cause, and foremost the pain and difficulties for my children. In "Fireproof" they had it so right, "taking them apart now will hurt either one of them or both now". But there is not always a choice. And no one has to live in a troubled home. I hope people will bear in mind judge not lest ye be judged. Amy Grant and Vince Gills marriage is inspiring and hopefilled, and their happiness is contagious. God bless them.

She has always justified it by stating that their counselors basically said they deserved to be happy, no matter what; even if that meant affecting growing children:(

I remember watching Amy's former husband on a talk show back when she had started her 'relationship' with Vince. There was tremendous pain! I have never been able to think of Amy, the Christian, in a positive light since. Justify adultery any way you like, but it is still soul destroying to those you leave in your wake!

Read Gary Chapman’s interview in Texas Monthly magazine Aug 1997. He says in his own words that he had a cocaine addiction and was very jealous of Amy’s success. That’s what she dealt with all those years before Vince Gill ever showed up. If Gary seemed sad about his divorce, I’m sure he was. He probably has some regrets of his own behavior during the marriage. When a marriage fails it is very rarely one person’s fault, and it’s usually a long time in coming.
Try being married to a raging coke head like Gary Chapman was and see what you think.
I know we are no one to judge others cause we are not perfect either, but I can't look at Amy Grant and say "oh wow what an inspiration"or pretend that she is the most awesome person, I mean, I like some of her music, but that's about it, I just can't look at her with admiration knowing she was flirting with another man who was married, I mean they both were flirting with each other, they disrespected their spouses and that's kinda messed up. Okay must be straight forward: you who are so glad they found each other should view V. Gills ex- wife Janis's account of how she felt when she found a note in Vince's golf bag from Amy " I Love You Amy". How hurt she was and immediately filed for divorce because she refused to be humiliated by their affair. They both have stated they did not discuss leaving their spouses and never crossed a line however, mental and emotional entanglement is involvement and leads to other things apparently.
Now comes the real smack the table: Their daughter Corrina cannot, absolutely can not sing a tune or hold a note her voice literally cracks. Her voice does not possess a definitive or distinctive quality where you would want to listen to the tone or purchase her music. No amount of riding on their notoriety or success is going to change that. Physical appearance I will leave that out they love their child regardless.
In their duet "House of Love" I guess the lyrics are applicable to real life "it's kind of funny".
I saw and heard a video of their daughter Corinna singing. She has a beautiful voice.

What a nasty comment about someone’s child. That speaks to your character not theirs. Corrina sang a lovely tribute to her mother with Vince in Aug 2022. She sounded wonderful. Go look it up here on TH-cam. Vince and both of his daughters seem to struggle with weight issues. That doesn’t mean that both girls aren’t lovely. Why you would even comment about her appearance is disturbing. Is his older daughter “cursed” too as you are seeming to imply?
I liked the way Vince wiped the slime off his hand after letting go of Amy's hand when they first get on stage. Reminds me of President W Bush after he touched a black man.
