He can lie to Skyler pretty convincingly if he planned it out like he did here with Hank. Most of the time when he gets caught it's because he's either put on the spot or because his lie is so ridiculously unbelievable that Skyler couldn't possibly fall for it.

I love how Walt is playing on Hank’s emotional incapabilities. It’s the same with every “touchey feeley” situation. He deflects and tries to escape. Just like when Marie had that issue with shoplifting. He didn’t know how to deal with it and tried to hide the situation.Walt knows talking about his emotions would make Hank uncomfortable and he played on that to get him out the room for a brief moment. Also Hank at this moment was top dog in the DEA, he probably wouldn’t want to be seen being vulnerable so he then closed the blinds, giving Walt and him privacy to talk about personal discrepancies. This is probably an obvious conclusion I’m making here but it’s still so fascinating seeing this level of detail, especially for a moment like this where the situation isn’t extremely critical.

Hank opening the door is symbolism for him walking into the truth about Heisenberg when it's in his own obvious view (DEA office)
Hank patting his shoulder on the right means that he gave Heisenberg an inadvertent go ahead to pursue criminal acts while keeping an eye on him, the five fingers touching him means 5 senses that he has on Hank at all times. Even the smell of the coffee

I love how in the picture Marie is wearing yellow instead of her usual purple. Yellow being on the complete opposite of the color spectrum from purple. Yellow in the show is used to represent Walt’s criminal activities, hence why we see Gus wearing it most of the time. Marie wears purple since out of the four main characters she is the one most far removed of Walt’s true career, but by placing the bug in her picture frame she now becomes tainted by it
