It’s interesting to think of this as a bookend along with the talking pillow scene from Season 1. The contstant, I guess, being Marie’s willingness to consider the possibility that Walt’s death would be the best thing for everyone.
This scene gave me the chills, i can just feel the adrenaline thru my veins, I was watching this in fear knowing the Schraders can schrade all over the place any second, truly a poetic masterpiece
1:11 I love how Marie seems like a dumb Karen most of the time but as soon as a crisis comes up she becomes the voice of reason. She seems a bit annoying in everyday situations but she handles tough or emotionally filled situations with a clear head and integrity. When I first saw the show I was very surprised at her input during the talking pillow scene.
Marie definitely is not dumb. Ironically, she was also the most empathetic and told Skylar to stop smothering Walt and to let him choose how he wants to approach his cancer. Her own flaw was shoplifting and "talking". She also was extremely supportive to Hank when he was injured and in recovery even though he was nasty to her.
The beauty of this scene is that while Walt's obsession with building an empire and living up to his potential is done, Hank's begins. Here, in this particular moment, Walt is right. Everything he did is behind him. But Jr would face the repercussions of everything Hank wants to do to Walt. If Walt gets arrested etc, Jr's life would be practically destroyed. Walt's point here is that let's not do more damage to people that can be avoided, and he genuinely means it too. But Hank is furious with Walt, and the sheer betrayal - to enter the drug business while Hank was a DEA, that must burn Hank from the inside. He wants Walt to face repercussions for what he's done. And Walt, by this point, is concerned about maintaining everyone's image (including Hank's). The problem is tricky to solve, and neither solution works perfectly. That's beautiful, beautiful story-writing.
Nope, Walt isnt right. There's nothing right about wanting "to live in peace like nothing happened" after all the shit he's done and continue lying to his son.
tan116A walt Has done way way too many bad things to just let it go. It’s not that Walt only was cooking meth, he destroyed so many people lives directly and indirectly
@@vasvas8914 Hank could make Walt pay out of the public eye. That would not affect Jr's future. Else, he'd carry the weight of being a druglord's son. All Walt has already done is not changing. But Jr's life doesn't need to be made difficult. He's already paraplegic, and if his dad is outed as a druglord, things will only get worse for him. So yes, while Walt has done things that cannot be forgiven, Jr should not face punishment just because he got caught in the crossfire.

So yes, while Walt has done things that cannot be forgiven, Jr should not face punishment for Hank's obsession.
Are you kidding? Hank wants to bring justice. This isn't about ego or obsession. You're just trying to equalize both sides in some middle ground approach. The truth is you only say this out of sympathy to Walt. Sympathy you feel only because you've seen the whole story from his eyes from the start. Of course you want to think Hank is some grey character instead of someone just true to his values. Walt is using excuses to avoid paying the consequences for his actions. He's not the victim here.
Ironically, Hank's argument for Walt turning himself in is the same argument that got Walk back in: "Be a man (and turn yourself in)" vs "Be a man (and provide for your family)"
Yeah neutral territory although they chose a pretty feisty place for their meeting that poor waiter was trying so hard to make it a happy dining experience for this family

Walter was missing and everyone was looking for him when Hank found Tuco and killed him .. .. 4 .. When Badger was caught .. Explosion in nursing home and the killing of Gustavo Fring .. .. 15 .. Police found a large magnet in a van abandoned at police evidence room .. the magnet was used by Walt to destroy a laptop's hard drive that had all Fring's files and surveillance videos .. 16 .. Walter visited Hank in his office just before failing to arrest Mike .. .. 17 .. Six witnesses being assassinated during two minutes inside the prison ..
He could of lied about how he was trying to save hank by making meth for people that want to kill hank since he is a DEA agent. And Walt could have done a service to them to compensate for hanks life
Good solution, but remember that Hank pretty much already suspected that it was Walt who was Heisenberg and was INCREDIBLY furious with him. If he used that lie, I think Hank would not have believed him and gotten even more angrier at Walt.
I've been rewatching scenes from Breaking Bad after seeing the final episodes of Better Call Saul. It's funny. Walter had that CD ready to go -- which means he knew Hank and Marie weren't going to see things his way. Despite all that, he still went through with the meeting. There's a side of him that wanted that loving-family dynamic back. I'd like to think he really didn't want to blackmail them... Key Phase: I'd like to think.
I've only seen BB once, and as I'm enjoying BCS with the way the characters are going, it makes me hate Walt even more with the way he came along and led things the way he did. Literally and inadvertently.
I wish we couldve seen more of this dynamic between hank and walt. Becoming heisenberg had less to do with cancer and more to do with the fact that hank emasculated him on his 50th birthday. It didn't make sense to me that walt didn't take up saul's "trip to belize" offer.
Hank ‘emasculated’ his own colleagues in the exact same way, as it’s more about ribbing banter than disrespect. His own students did it more than Hank ever did. Heisenberg has more to do with his bitterness and sense of failure after throwing away Grey Matter solutions for his own insecurity around Gretchins family, then giving up on achieving anything after he realised his own mistake. He was always egotistical and had a chip on his shoulder, but cancer was the motivator as he realised he had nothing to lose and he let go of his fear and rage.
Walt was always a bit envious of Hank but he never hated him, we all have friends we might sometimes have issues with but we still consider them friends, no one is perfect.
I loved it when hank got shot and loved it even more when Marie heard about it. Good actors can make you emotional attached to their characters. The best show I ever watched

@@stevepensando2593 🎯🎯🎯
I don't think it has a non awkward eating scene
This scene gave me the chills, i can just feel the adrenaline thru my veins, I was watching this in fear knowing the Schraders can schrade all over the place any second, truly a poetic masterpiece
0:27 hank 😠😠
Haha 😄 🤣
That was cold as hell for Walt To drop his Mixtape Like that.
That Cd ‘confession’ that Walt gave Hank is the equivalent of Walt Using the UNO Reverse Card on Hank lmao.
I love the deeply intense dramatic confrontation with jolly music playing in the background
She's annoying cuz she's so self conscious but she loves her family so much tbh

I’m pretty sure Dominick would have convinced them that we are a family.
hahahahhaha nice

omg LMAOOOOO 😂
Amazing how hank was behind this whole drug operation using Walt as his chemist
Ironically, Hank's argument for Walt turning himself in is the same argument that got Walk back in: "Be a man (and turn yourself in)" vs "Be a man (and provide for your family)"
Seems like no one these days understands what it truly means to be a man...
It's like when females telling men, "well, a REAL man would....".
They only use that when they got nothing else to back em up😂😅
Providing for your family usually means in non-1mm0raI ways...
This is the moment Walt gave Hank the fake confession tape
it's heartbreaking watching the early seasons of the show and seeing how much everyone loved Walt and Skyler compared to the end
This is definitely one of the best scenes from Breaking Bad.
Why would they have this conversation at a restaurant?
Johnny Waffles Plenty of witnesses to make sure nobody on either side flies off the handle.
@@c.w.simpsonproductions1230 I guess that makes sense because nobody would really know what they're talking about
Yeah neutral territory although they chose a pretty feisty place for their meeting that poor waiter was trying so hard to make it a happy dining experience for this family

Very nice of Walt to make Hank a mixed cd of all the music they enjoyed together as Walt drove Hank around looking for this Heisenberg fella.

This show was the most put together and on your seat suspension. I love and miss this show.
Imagine mid-conversation Hank just completely flips his lid and screams, "By the way, where the Hell is our waiter?"
Even at this point, Hank thought he was the powerful person at the table..and failed to realize Walt could have eliminated him at any point.
It’s because of Walt that Hank was able to walk again.
@@beatlecristian yesss, it's the first time i see that mentioning. Even if he was genociding children i wouldn't arrest him if i was hank after what he done to me
@@flip849 Do you think Hank should have just let it go?
I mean, Walt was going to be dead soon.
@@beatlecristian It was in his best interest. He went after Walt after Skyler and Jesse told him to back off and after find out everything that happened at that point. Jesse told him if you go after him whatever you think is gonna happen I am telling you the exact reverse with happen. In which it did. They went to arrest him and instead of taking him to jail Hank and Gomez got killed and Jesse became a prisoner.

I felt more for Gomie, he was just trying to be there for his friend.
Before watching this clip .. you need to understand how Hank felt when he recalled several things that occurred in the previous four and a half seasons :
..
1 .. Walter asking Hank to join him when DEA arrested Emilio ..
..
2 .. Chemistry lab equipment found missing in Walter's school ..
..
3 .. Walter was missing and everyone was looking for him when Hank found Tuco and killed him ..
..
4 .. When Badger was caught .. Walter interrupted a trap set by DEA to catch someone pretending to be ( Heisenberg ) ..
..
5 .. Skyler suddenly asked for divorce and Walter was separated from his family
..
6 .. Hank received a ( hoax phone call ) when he found the suspected RV ..
..
7 .. Hank punching Jessie Pinkman and being investigated then suspended ..
..
8 .. Hank being shot by the Cartel twins .. and being severely injured and crippled for months ..
..
9 .. The Whites buying a carwash and the false gambling story ..
..
10 .. The killing of Gale and Hank being brought back to work to investigate this murder case ..
..
11 .. The investigation of Gustavo Fring ..
..
12 .. Hank asking Walter to help him spy on Fring ..
..
13 .. Walter making a deliberate car accident while taking hank to search the laundry where Fring hid his lab ..
..
Could you please edit your comment and change every "frings" to "fring". It's painful to read that misspelling like 10 times in a row 😂

"Waltuh...this is a bad time to show them your demo tape, Waltuh."
I love that vest over his hand as he guides Skyler out. Almost as if he was pointing a gun at her.
or hes just tryna comfort her and guide her way out idk but it sure as hell aint that gun thing
The acting in this scene man. You really believe theyve been a family of 15+ years and are now devastated of the news
Obviously he wanted his family dynamic back keep in mind this was the time when Walt was trying to become his old self again
What is on the CD?
I've only seen BB once, and as I'm enjoying BCS with the way the characters are going, it makes me hate Walt even more with the way he came along and led things the way he did. Literally and inadvertently.
I like how both Hank and Gus don't let their nemesis die without their permission.
I wish we couldve seen more of this dynamic between hank and walt. Becoming heisenberg had less to do with cancer and more to do with the fact that hank emasculated him on his 50th birthday. It didn't make sense to me that walt didn't take up saul's "trip to belize" offer.
Hank still was family even if annoying family for walter
@o m It's not fat, it's muscle
It's hilarious how even now when Marie opens her mouth everyone looks at her like what the fuck?
What a great show. We are lucky to have had it.
This feels exactly what family drama feels like. I got exhausted by watching this the first time.
