I am literally lying in a hospital bed at this moment after being in so much pain my whole body stopped moving/working. I was diagnosed with Fibro which explains so much. Your video has helped explain so much to me! I too have horrendous digestive problems, with slow motility and severe IBS, over the past few months I have gone from an active Mum of two to barely being able to make it out of bed. The symptoms really are debillitating and I just hope, in time, to claw back some life and your ability to shine with positivity in such a dark place. Thank you.

Sucks how you tell doctors that this is how you are feeling (varying symptoms from person to person) and they dont believe you or nothing is wrong with you. I'm sick of having this pain and being looked at like I have some sort of other motive of wanting other medication. I suffer in silence and with my family questioning everything I say, do or feel.I'm no longer "normal" to them because to them I am "mentally" thinking I am feeling this way when I'm not.

I was diagnosed in 1992. One thing you didn't mention is the severe depression. You described fibro really well. One important thing I have learned over the years is that no amount of pain medication helps. It only makes the pain worst after a while. I am on an antidepressant that helps most of the time but still have bad times. I have learned that if I can keep my mind busy if at all possible it helps. I lead a farely active life when possible. I have learned over the years what I can and can't do and when. I have just simply had to learn to manage on my own because meds don't help. As for people saying they found a cure for their fibro, maybe they didn't have it to begin with! I truly hope they have found their cure. BUT wait a little while! If it was fibro, it will be back to visit them with a vengeance. I truly wish you and anyone that suffers with fibro all the best in learning to manage it. Prayers absolutely help. I know! God be with yo and everyone.

The overly sensitivity of senses is a huge symptom. More than others mentioned earlier in this woman's list of symptoms. With sound.....one can actually "feel" certain sharp sounds. Such as a door slamming shut, a cooking vessel (frying pans, pasta pots, etc), even a telephone ringing can cause a person with fibro to actually jump in their own skin. It's difficult to explain but those with long term fibro know what I'm trying to say.

  • @tahliah6691
    @tahliah6691 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

You hit that painful nail on the head.....temperature sensitivity hot n cold, excessive pain and fatigue after strenuous execise or movement, weird nausea, sensitive to touch, headaches, anxiety n depression, so exausted that you think your heart is slowing down, dropsy (excessive need to fall sleep anywhere) poor coordination, poor short term memory, dizziness, clumsy, the list is endless.............. 😩🙃

I have a bad case of Fibro too. I also get obstructive sleep apnoea and blurry, double/triple vision problems. I used to be very active at home doing gardening etc and with having an active job role. Now with Fibro, I'm so restricted and have to pace myself or suffer for it later. I've gained a lot of weight also. It's good to know that I'm not alone. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. :) x

You just explained my life. I'm blown away!!! I was diagnosed in 2011 but it took forever....lots of MRI's, CT scans, Stress Tests, Digestive Tests, ect., ect. I actually had to file bankruptcy due to medical bills. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I just take one step at a time. That's all we can do. God bless you for this video! You explained it brilliantly!!

You are amazing, you still have an upbeat tone and way about you, its lovely to see. I understand, you had me nodding and verbally agreeing (yep by my self talking to you through a video I am abit nuts lol) with you. I have only just got my diagnoses, this year has been the worst and the last 6 months have been hell. I agree fibromalgia is a migraine for your body, it really is, its sad that I am use to the pain (still hurts and affects my daily life), the brain fog is what really upsets me, I have gotten into so much trouble missing deadlines, appointments, meeting up with friends ect makes me feel worthless, :( the pain I have had for years, its horrible but after so long it sadly becomes common place, the brain fog for me is the worst. :(

"the brain fog is what really upsets me, I have gotten into so much trouble missing deadlines, appointments, meeting up with friends ect makes me feel worthless, :( the pain I have had for years, its horrible but after so long it sadly becomes common place, the brain fog for me is the worst. :("
Sweetheart, I know EXACTLY what you mean!! :'( It really is awful!!!! I am intelligent, and I know that, but it makes me feel so stupid when I can't remember things that I should, or when I have trouble putting two and two together because its like my mind just goes blank... And the worst is when you're having a conversation and suddenly you can't even finish what you were saying because your mind goes blank, and you can't even make sense of the thoughts trying to come to your mind to remember. It takes a minute to collect yourself, if you even can. Most of the time I am too exhausted to even try, so I just say "nvm".
I probably wouldn't mind as much if it didn't affect my work. I make stupid obvious mistakes sometimes simply because of this, and it's humiliating. Its hard to deal with knowing people must think you're just not that bright, or are lazy, because you have trouble remembering things, and sometimes even understanding things that you normally would without a problem.

CoziestWOLFY I get the migraines and can go to work and function but before fibromyalgia migraines would put me in the emergency room. Pain is a daily thing and for the most part I can get through a day of work. Granted I sit most of my day at work. I get extreme fatigue after just mopping my floor. I used to be a fanatic and basically a perfectionist about house cleaning now I'm just happy if it's picked up and the dishes are put away. I've learned things that help I know these things are not good for environment but I just can't keep up on everything anymore so we used paper plates plastic cups bowls and silverware. I miss a lot of work and it causes depression and doesn't help with anxiety issues because we need the money. When I'm home I'm in bed it's hard to push myself to stay healthy. I also have uncontrolled diabetes. When my blood sugars go below 160 ( which is high since we should be about 120 ) I experience even more pain and my brain fog worsens. I describe the touch pain like this ... when you experience a deep bruise imagine someone pushing on the bruised area well. ... I feel like that in my thighs upper arms shoulders hip area and calves all the time. The fog is the worst because if it's bad I can not work. The information I provide is regulated not just by the company I work for but the government. I need to remember to provide relevant information depending on the subject if I forget my job is at stake so when the fog is bad I have to call out because as you know brain fog is not our friend. I so appreciate everyone here. We all need to feel that we are not alone because so many people who do not have fibromyalgia truly do not understand and try to tell us do this and you will feel better. My heart goes out to everyone here. We will endure

Anyway lets see if i remember. oh crap gone again... This is how my brain works. sigh. I too miss so many things. Like birthdays. Things that are important to others. I have given up on trying to have phone conversations with anyone. I communicate through email, or text. Because i need time to think of what i want to say. The very worst thing about Fibromyalgia is not being diagnosed. I was diagnosed yesterday, but it has taken twenty years. I went to the doctor and told them that I thought I have Fibro, I was told that it was Unlikely because I'm a man. I have also been told that I'm a hypochondriac. The feeling that there is no one in the world to turn to is not a good feeling, and yet, very unnecessary if only the doctors weren't so close minded. The recognition that there is something wrong makes a big difference to one's mental state. I have my wife and son to consider, but had I not, I don't think I would be around today. What about those that suffer this horrible condition that do not have loved ones around them? Would they manage twenty years of being told to go away? Doctors need to step up and take their heads out of the sand.

this has been one of the biggest problems I've had with doctors everything is there's nothing wrong with you after they charge you crazy amount of money 20 years is too long to wait to get an answer and it does make you feel completely mental I finally figured out what kind of a doctor to go to and I'm hoping that I get somewhere none of these other doctors have told me that I need to go to the rheumatologist I've been to neurologist gastrologist skin doctors

I was "diagnosed" back in 2001, but the first evidence of it was in 1978 when I was 12 AND experiencing GROWING PAINS. No lie, the ER docs told my parents that one side of my body was higher than the other (this actually was Scoliosis) and that I would grow up with arthritis along with other problems as an adult. The rest is history for me that you so eloquently detailed in your video. I've got EVERYTHING you mentioned except my GI specialist denies that I have Celiac's per biopsy. I had no idea how many others were suffering identically right along with each other. Bless you for your channel and your positive attitude. It's very uplifting and giving for you to put yourself "out here" representing others suffering like you. God bless and thank you! Susanne, 50yo mom of two.

I just want to say thank you for what you do! I just found your channel and subscribed. I have been struggling for years without knowing what was wrong with me and doctors wouldn't give me a clear diagnosis because I was "too young" to be hurting the way I do. I switched doctors and finally was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. The way you described fibromyalgia in your video really resonates with me, especially the sensitivity. Living like this and not knowing what it was or being able to explain it has been so depressing. I am just beginning my journey on learning how to live with it. I know I'll never be my old self but I want to be happy again and it's so encouraging to hear from others that experience this and have learned to live with it and still manage to have a life. Thank you again for sharing this with the world, you're amazing.

Wow you describe this so well. Fibromyalgia also effects the people around you that don't understand what your going through. Some of my friends and my boyfriend they just think it's all in my head or that I'm like a hypochondriac is just rude and unkind how people can't understand what we're going through or have no compassion or understanding and think we're just being lazy or giving excuses it feels like Chronic fatigue but with pain and tingly crawling nerves over your body . Like the one girl in the comments said I can really relate to her it's worse when you have ADHD and Fibro fog on top of that goodbye trying to study and retain information it's a loosing battle and sleeping all the time I feel useless and hate being in my body when I feel like this. Mentally it's hard to get out of bed every single day when you can't function like a normal person your in pain and mentally & physically so fatigued and on top of that it effects your coordination and driving. You loose your confidence and don't want to see people or deal with people because they don't understand or care what your going through. Tingly legs bad circulation pain that wanes it comes and goes it has something to do with the nervous system and our brain. I believe it's an underlying autoimmune disease or disorder in our body that triggers it off. Some people have been able to fix it with anti viral medication, but who knows its a Horrible, horrible condition to try and live with like your skin is crawling all the time and restless legs in bed can't sleep properly because of shooting pain in my body and my nerves feel like there crawling I'm just a bottle of nerves it's really horrible to live like this. Not knowing what's caused it. Anything that has helped you please let me know. Forcing myself to exercise go swimming and not eating processed foods has helped me manage the pain a lot more. acupuncture and Chinese medicine as well.

Thank you for this video. Having been diagnosed over 10 years ago, with 18 out of 18 pressure points, and not being able to work, these symptoms describe me to a T. I am on regular meds, some help, some dont. Basically a prisoner to this disease. People that dont have it, dont understand it. I have stopped socializing, attending family events and going out with friends as I never know how I will feel once I get there. I sleep on average about 2 hours at a time, before the pain wakes me. I take frequent naps to make up for the lack of sleep. I have NO energy. The only thing that saves me is that my mind is active, I run two facebook pages geared to Animal Advocacy which is a passion of mine, so that is what helps me to feel like I am contributing something to society. I also have peripheral neuropathy, as well as sjorgens syndrome and lupus. Two of my sisters have fibro, so it definitely is in our genetic pool. I had to quit working, left a job I adored with a steady income, at 47 as I just couldn't deal with the pain and exhaustion any more. This video will hopefully enlighten those people who thought I was lazy, or faking it.

I am so glad you did this. I have EVERY symptom I have found on the myriads of lists I have seen on the internet. I am so SICK of the way I feel and I have been trying to "fix" myself. It's been a long time since this started and I can't remember when it started to be exact. I am so fatigued. If I go to the store and get some groceries, by the time I get home, I am WORN OUT! Then I feel like I have been run over by a Mac truck. I'm so stiff and sore ALL OVER that I was starting to get scared that I was sick with some horrible cancer. I was diagnosed with "dumping syndrome" but now I know WHY I have this trouble with my gut. I get the most AWFUL stomach cramps and it's just horrible. I often do not go anywhere because of it. I live on Imodium! That can't be healthy to take Imodium constantly can it? I have been getting "migraines" for years, and these OTHER headaches that are so bad I throw up if I don't catch it. I have false teeth and sometimes I can't put them in my mouth because they gag me. I am tired when I get up, I am tired all the time. I do get numbness and tingly sensations. I have pain all over myself, and the kind where if someone grabs my arm or whatever, it hurts. I have soreness in weird places. My left shoulder hurts a lot, my legs get that "restless leg syndrome" thing where I feel like jumping out of bed and running down the road. I just went to the doc because my KNEE was giving me problems and it HURT like a B****. The pain went down my leg into my ankle, with a stabbing pain like a knife was twisting in there , then the TOP of my foot was hurting. It would move around. The pain. The doc prescribed Gabapentin (Neurontin) and I take it every might. I have been depressed most of my life, I have anxiety disorder I mean something FIERCE, I had a physical therapist years ago tell me she thought I have Fibromyalgia. Maybe I do. I can't figure out why else all this crap. I have that BRAIN FOG thing you speak of. I will totally forget what I am saying a lot. I mean my kids will remind me of some show we watched or something I had said, and I really have NO recollection of any of it. I thought I was getting senile because I just have NO memory of a lot of things. I thought it was just because I was in a wreck and broke my neck and banged my head on every surface in the truck I was in. All I know for SURE is that this drives a person crazy. It's miserable and hard to cope with. My doctor doesn't seem to care that much, so I am going to find another Doc, preferably a woman. I am a widow and I live alone, thank goodness, because I would drive someone else crazy. Thank you for this video. NOW I have some HOPE that I am NOT crazy and I probably do NOT have cancer!

Thank you so much, you made it so I could understand what Fibromyalgia is. I thought he was crazy, no way I had this but my symptoms are very much like yours and I didn't know how to but them into words. Thanks to you I can now express what I'm feeling, you helped me very much.

You are awesome! I just had a Dr. suggest I have Fibromyalgia and all of this sounds like what I've had going on over the last few years. I was diagnosed with Celiac in 2013. I have those migraines and light sensitivity. I hate it when people who are wearing checkered or striped shirts talk to me because my eyes wig out. Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a diagnosis for a long time. At 37 - I was at the pain clinic getting facet radio frequency ablations for back pain. At 38, I visited a neurologist because my body parts were tingling and going numb. She left me with the "I don't know what's wrong with you" "Let me refer you to a psychiatrist" - come back and see me in 6 months line. $500 later - no thank you! The Dr. I visited last week who suggested Fibromyalgia also told me that my endo-cannabinoid system was out of homeostasis and has me trying CBD (Hemp Oil Extract) Supplements to see if that helps.

Fibromyalgia is on the list of conditions which makes one eligible for medical marijuana. I am a veteran and receive my healthcare through the VA. For pain they prescribe opioids which are very addictive and not good for you. But getting a diagnosis for fibro is like pulling teeth. Is this because the VA is a Federal agency purposely not diagnosing fibro so one can't get medical marijuana?

I too love my life despite this! I have goals and dreams and "off days" can't change that! And "funny" thing... I have ADD so I am already struggling with processing information. I need you to know how much this video means to me right now. I've had chronic migraine for five or six years now, with body pain mixed in. The last two years, I've had chronic body pain and stiffness, fatigue, gut issues, etc. I've been going to a rheumy a few months now and I'm on a fibro drug for fibro-like symptoms but I'm undiagnosed. I keep going through what feels like flare ups and I'm currently in the middle of one. About twenty minutes ago I told my fiance it feels like a migraine for your whole body. About fifteen minutes ago I watched this and you said the same thing and I immediately burst into tears. Just knowing other people get it...I'm not even diagnosed but...you have no idea how validated and believed I feel right now.

It really hurts because i am in the process of getting to the right doctors for my symptoms and i can't tell you how many times i have been in the hospital for pain and they treat you like you are crazy because you truly feel pain but they can't find anything physically. I can't even wear eye makeup because it makes my eyes feel tired and they start to hurt. I am a mom of two little girls and you feel worthless because you want to interact and be a great mom but the pain and fatigue is just crazy. And i totally get the hair thing. I always tell my mom that it hurts to even put my head on my pillow sometimes. I am hoping they figure out this is the answer. I don't want to have this but i would be happy to atleast have an answer for my pain.

That is because regular doctors don't understand what is causing it, it is mostly caused by missalignment in the spine and correcting that cures or greatly improves people in most cases.
And I know the feeling you are describing all to well.... you are not alone though and hopefully, likely even you can get better.
Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

My doc told me, back in the 90's - the best I can hope for is to shove that fibro into remission. He said it would never go away, just go into remission. So I strive for that. Don't you feel like you've got flu like feelings? That's how I describe it to others. That horrible pain, etc. I do find I get sick more often. Do you? Yep, I agree with that coordination - something happens to our fine motor skills and they just go. I just love your video. Thank-you for sharing. And yes, the weight gain - mine was double of yours plus...*sigh* Of course, I'm in my late 50's, and it piled on over the years. I'm glad to hear about not being able to control your body temperature. I have that big time, but never realized it was a symptom. Now you've given me a gift I can give my family by telling them what it is. At my age, they blame "The Change." But it isn't it. The meds do it to me too. I'm subscribing.

You have listed about one fifth of my symptoms, FM is a very complicated syndrome and as you say, very specific to each individual. I have met so many sufferers recently. I am now 64years old.
I've had FM for over a year now, diagnosed by my wife and myself, after reading/watching lots of you tube vids. Several consultants have said to me: "What do you think is wrong with you?". In other words, after many negative or confusing tests, they couldn't figure it out and thought I was lying all the time.
I often think it would be good to just drop dead and be done with it. I called my family doctor and demanded a vitamin D test, he was sceptical until it came back very low and put me on high dose pills. My doctor is now fully onboard and 'throwing the book at it' thank God. My hope has risen considerably. Thank you for your vid :-)
Oh and the body temperature changes, I thought I was imagining/creating it myself - I'm writing this at 4am because I can't sleep again.

I hope you realize (I see this is one year after your post that I am posting this though), that you cannot keep that kind of work schedule if you have a serious case of fibro. Try to "downsize" your life if you can so that you don't have to think "Money, Money, Money". Your health HAS to come first. You'll realize that on your own if your Fibro progresses as you age. I hope you don't get any sicker and that you can slow down your work schedule (all of you) .. just my experience.

Doctors diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia 10 years ago. Fibromyalgia can be caused by severe trauma. I have had 2 major brain surgeries to where they actually had to remove part of my skull. I had swelling so bad the doctors thought I may never walk again. I was paralyzed for 5 days. I couldn't walk until 5 months after my surgery. I also have had 18 other surgeries besides the two brain surgeries, but 16 of the 18 were major. I have the same brain fog and many other of the symptoms you described. I so understand where you are coming from. I am so lucky to have a boyfriend that understands my conditions because I have more than just Fibromyalgia. He helps me through it all. BTW. 44 yr old male. I love your video, not all is fibro that you describe for yourself, men and women definitely differ. My sister has it, I have it, it runs in the family, have a mentally handicapped uncle who has it. Lots of it is similar to arthritis and exposure to mold. Sensitivity is amplified by caffiene. Pain floats to different parts of the body for weeks or months and can switch sides of the spine in a day with equal amount of pain. It can leave you to wonder or question yourself.

I'm a 47yo man with horrible fibromyalgia. 24/7 my body hurts like when you are sick with a high temperature. The meds I'm on take the pain from a 10 to a 7 or 8 on good days. Wow. I feel like you have interviewed me and then repeated everything in your video. So glad to know that I'm not just blaming everything on fibro, thinking deep down inside that I'm just lazy or not motivated or just feeling sorry for myself, etc. So many of my questions have been answered. Was I misdiagnosed? Do I really have fibro? What really is wrong with me? Well, guess what? I really have fibro. It really is unfortunate, but it is what it is and now I'll move on and sharpen my coping mechanisms. When someone asks me what's wrong, I can say fibro and mean it. If they don't understand it, I'll tell them to Google it. :) Thank you so much explaining so many of my symptoms. I'm not a medicine taker so I'll have to find other ways to cope. I'm so happy and will continue to watch your videos as it's good to know and I'm sure you know what I mean by this, that I'm not losing it, and others are having these same symptons. If it wasn't for my hobby which forces me out of bed, I'd probably be in it all the time. Some days I do nothing but watch movies which half the time, not even listening as so tired and hurting. Good days which I call them come far and few in between so I take advantage and get as much done as possible. I just never know when the next one will come. I'm up all hours of the night, and when I do sleep many nights or days it's for a couple to four hours at a time. Just know you aren't alone, and I hope you will continue your video's as sure it helps others to watch as it did me. Was so interesting as just so identical. Take care, and by the way, don't feel bad, I too have gained weight and hate it but nothing I can do for it as yourself. I heard Cymbalta does it, but can't get off of it as tried going off one capsule as take two but after a week couldn't stand it no more, as doctor thought when I said I'd try, so had to continue taking one at night and one in the morning. Do you by chance take Cymbalta? My sister-in-law took for a while and was living proof, as when she started gaining which she surely did, she lost her weight and went back to normal in a short time.

Omg I've been wondering wtf is wrong with me for a very long time. Fibro had been in the back of my mind for some time but I've always dwelled on the things like cancer, heart attack, etc. But I decided to look up a video on fibro and I'm almost 100% sure I have it. I thank you so much for this video. I feel like I'm dying everyday and I've felt this way for years. And not knowing what's wrong with me. So thank you.

I am crying...! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I had a nervous breakdown in 2000 followed by Cancer 2002. After a radical hysterectomy, Chemo and Radiation I kept complaining about this awful.....yucky mind boggling pain in my hip area. This was just the start! It took about 3years to get diagnosed with Fibromyalgia/ME. I was told by my doctor that it was all in my head and that I really didn't know my own mind. I attempted suicide and only survived by the skin of my teeth. Another doctor came to see me when I was released from hospital and he really examined me thoroughly. He felt around the base of my back and told me that all my muscles were inflamed. After intensive blood work I had my diagnosis. I was told by my original doctor that it was 'one of these new illnesses yet to be proved as an actual illness and therefore no cure'. I changed doctor!! I am bedridden and have been for....too many years. Sometimes I have to be pushed to the bathroom in a wheelchair, it's approx, 10yards from my bedroom. My husband is a Saint! Because of him I fight, we fight, this damn illness and I will NEVER give up on my life again! I too am happy with my life and all the positives in it. All I hope for is to be able to cook again for my husband Mick. God Bless You x

Thank you so much for this video. You are awesome at explaining it. I have joint pain with swelling, muscle spasms, pins and needles, tingling, dry eyes and many other weird symptoms with mine. I have also now been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and all my glands are swollen. Sometimes I am in so much pain, even with painkillers, that I pass out. I went from very active to not even being able to walk most days. The worst thing is when people don't believe you because 'you don't look sick'

Hi, I've been suffering for over 10yrs and diagnosed with Widespread Chronic Pain, finally 6 months ago a specialist put the name Fybromyalgia! When I read the symptoms I cried as I guess I've been looking for a label all these years. Then my pain consultant tells me the medical profession is now moving away from the title "fybromyalgia" and other pain conditions and renaming us with "Widespread Chronic Pain". Well makes it easier for them then eh, aarrgghh I just understand what I have (finally) and they pull the rug so to speak! Anyway yes I have all the symptoms, plus severe spasms as someone mentioned, the blurred vision etc It's amazing to have found you all and people who understand (very rare). I have lost my marriage, home, job, family members and friends through this condition it certainly is a rough ride especially when dealing with the pain on top!

thank you, my rheumatologist actually told me that I have had fibromyalgia all my life due in part to having extremely bad growing pains, endometriosis, and being double jointed.
