Jerry Allison and was a great songwriter along with Sonny Curtis who wrote the iconic-I fought the law. Interestingly the Crickets biggest hits didn't include Buddy Holly. This one they released under Jerry's middle name, Ivan but it's still the Crickets.

Yep! It was the perfect song for that scene. The song was also prominently featured the year before in 1987's _Adventures in Babysitting._
