Hes the human member of the Justice League the criminals should be afraid of. Because unlike the Bat, Oliver will be smiling and makin wise cracks when he beats that azz. Hes way friendlier and nicer than the Bat, but unlike the Bat, he'll turn you into a pin cussion if he has to. (or shit, if he wants to) I know its not accurate to the comics, but I love how dude is a str8 serial killer in Arrow. This man has a body count to rival slasher villains. and his toungue is sharper than the points of his arrows, he put his teamates in his place when he needed to. Diggle: You leave a trail of bodies everywhere you go! Oliver: Atleast my trail of bodies doesnt include my own brother me: damn ollie you aint have to go there! YOU! HAVE! FAILED! THIS! CITY!
I think Green Arrow (specifically Oliver Queen, Connor Hawke is a completely different story) shouldn't be on the Justice League mainly because that's just not the type of hero he is. In the comics, he quit the Justice League because he felt the League had made too much of a habit of appearing like Gods, looking down on humanity from their satellite base. He wanted to spend his time on the ground, fighting for social and political change, tackling problems in America like corruption, racism, pollution, overpopulation, cults, drug addiction, etc. He saw that as a much better way to spend his time than stopping the next alien invasion, he was there to help the little guy. That's who Oliver was at his core, a man who wanted to help the underprivileged. Now Connor is one of the best Martial Artists in the DC Universe, way more skilled than Oliver ever was unless you count the Arrowverse version of Oliver. For context, Lady Shiva is considered the deadliest assassin in the world and the 2nd best fighter when it comes to hand to hand combat (Cassandra Cain beats her), Connor didn't win that fight but it was extremely close. He's sensible, efficient, disciplined, focused, trustworthy, barely used any gadgets, he was basically a monk who was very skilled at martial arts that just so happened to be extremely good with a bow. Plus, his adventures were more fantastical and less focused on specifically helping the underprivileged, his biggest storyline being against the Monkey Fist cult which was a martial arts cult filled with deadly assassins. I also want to mention Oliver is exactly the best person, the 70s in particular made him very antagonistic towards those who didn't agree with his perspectives, he abandoned both his adopted son (Roy Harper) and biological son (Connor Hawke), and when Roy had drug problem he responded by backhanding him and tossing him out the house. The late 80s and early 90s shifted Green Arrow into a more Bond-esque character, making him a frequent womanizer which led to Black Canary leaving him. It wouldn't be until the 2000s that Oliver would start to redeem himself (after he died and got revived). He took in a new ward in Mia Dearden who he treated way better than Roy, he reconciled with Connor and started acting as a father to him, and he repaired his relationship with Black Canary and ended up marrying her (even though he still cheated on her again). He was still antagonistic, arrogant, irresponsible, and narcissistic at times but his better qualities did shine through more. If you couldn't tell I'm a Green Arrow nerd, he's such an interesting character and I feel like a lot of adaptations fail to fully realize his character, give me my extremely problematic Oliver Queen back and show some respect to my boy Connor, he should've been the primary Green Arrow for way longer than 6 years
I always felt that of all the Justice league members green arrow had a certain level of edge to him that could only be outdone by Batman. He as a character can go to such dark places and I love that. Connor was also a solid act ll to Oliver. Being nearly as good with a bow and taking what Oliver knew as a fighter and taking it to the next level really made him closer to Batman in overall fighting skills. Definitely not as close as far as intellect goes but as a skilled combatant, he was close to the level of Batman.
The one in the video is Arkham knights with a green arrow mod. I’d be interested in seeing how’d they’d accomplish making their own green arrow game too tho. They’d have a chance to make a new fighting system to take advantage of his ranged righting style
Green Arrow might not have the same amount of hand-to-hand combat skills as, say, the Batfamily, but saying that he's "at least decent" in close combat, like I've heard other people say, is an understatement
2:27, This point is perhaps best shown (in terms of shows or movies) in Justice League Unlimited, where the Justice League expands to way more than just the core 5. Oliver’s role isn’t just to fight, but as Bruce says to keep the core 5 “honest” and tethered to the people they’ve dedicated themselves to protecting, otherwise you get situations like the core 5 building an orbital particle cannon that could be used by their enemies to decimate cities. Oliver’s value, in that sense, is the fact that he is closer to a normal person than most members of the Justice League, a mortal standing among proverbial gods. If any other adaptations of this character get put to screen, this aspect of the character is what should arguably get the most attention, probably with a Peacemaker-style where the character gets mocked and compared unfavorably to Batman for being a businessman with gadgets and martial arts skills but nonetheless works with whatever he can to do as much good as he’s able to with his obvious limitations, knowing James Gunn’s affinity for making heroes out of losers and outcasts.
Green Arrow was probably one of my fave heroes growing up on DC like Hawkeye for marvel, GA was most likely my favourite, due to huge part that I always loved archery and now even still have a bow years later that I love using, but Stephen amell made the character darker and I liked that version people say he's like batman, why ? Cuz he is darker and has a deep voice to disguise himself ? Other than that for me he was different enough and CWs arrow made the character better and GA will always be my fave DC hero, and thank you Stephen Amell for making the character even better for me
Green Arrow and Hawkeye are THE best characters yet they get disrespected just because they use bow and arrows, and it’s sad how many videos I’ve seen that put em down.
Just because he isn't Batman doesn't mean he isn't *that man* 👌🔥 I really like heroes and fictional characters like Green Arrow because he manages to be so flippin cool and creative despite being so small and simple and he's a fun one to haha The gadgets, the skill and the fun Absurdity of a modern day hero with a bow and arrow for a weapon, I 💘LOVE💘 IT! 🏹 Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that Oliver and Dinah (Black Canary) are my favourite comic book couple, period! 💘
I mean your starting premise sounds good until you realize batman also on the team and no one sees him as weak despite having no power that's not why people see him as weak it's cuz he regularly gets dusted by dudes in most popular depictions ( I will say tho he's not weak in terms of most people but in terms of supers he's like a solid c tier hero but by no means is he an F tier)
Not everyone can be Batman ya know. If the argument here is that there’s someone who’s a better version of what he is so there’s no need for him on the team we could say wonder woman or Shazam doesn’t need to be there cuz Superman is just a better version of the both of them.
@@24Kam. I personally want to see Batman and Green arrow team up a lot. They are both similar and while Bats is S tier level, Green arrow will never give up even if it costs him his life. That is admirable.
How does having a bow and arrow put you in the bottom even with no powers? Batman has no powers and he's top tier! GA literally has a utility belt for a quiver it's a comic book. If Batman is viable so is GA even if GA is a B list hero for some reason.
Aint no arrow deal with the size of that gap? he has kryptonite arrows and a fucking nuke arrow...come on! Batman has no powers dafuq are people smoking? Batman is not meant to go up against gods but does so what??? GA is cool.
