TDC and pinion gear marks do not have anything to do with each other, ie., they should not line up.

Cam timing and ignition timing are two separate thing’s. There is nothing wrong here except your theory.

pinion gear can't slip unless the woodruff key has broken or not in there.... highly unlikely check your theory

What you have there is correct just the same as mine.

Clearly some guys want you to believe they no what there talking about. Some haven’t a clue. Maby he should of phrased that into a question instead of insisting his theory was correct. I didn’t understand this at first either. Keep on keeping on.

Just so you know, it's spelled "know" instead of "no"

Looks like someone put the pinion nut on with a crescent wrench and a hammer. If that was you....feel free to slap yourself.

Buy a shop manual and read it before you start trying to fix something.

Notice oil coming out when the engine was rotated? Rotate it backwards and no oil comes out.

TDC and pinion marks don't have anything to do with each other.
And pulling the cam cover without removing the pushrods isn't good on the cam bearing/bushing either.
You clearly don't know what you are doing.

asasial1977 Ive changed the seal and cam cover gasket without removing the push rods no problems.

No he has no idea what he is doing. Those marks are lined up based on the fact that the crankshaft and cam gear are lined up in where the flat area of the 4 lobes have all 4 valves closed in the heads. his cam and pinion and breather are lined up perfectly as they are meant to be.

Was this engine taken apart by someone else, there must be some history here. Roll it around 180 degrees and see what you have. Comments that are helpful are worth reading. Yes I agree take it some where.

Gear alignment/timing marks have nothing to do with piston or crank position. They are solely for installation purposes unless specifically stated otherwise. Surely, the shop you took this engine to pointed out the error in your conclusion so you should have taken down this video to avoid spreading misinformation.
