Anyone who offers me half or less gets blocked. If all sellers did the same, buyers would stop. Today, someone not only wanted me to break up a set and take the best piece, but was also offering less than half what it's worth. I couldn't resist telling them that they're like Chris Rock's character Cheap Pete from In Living Color.
I try not to take offense to any offer. You never know, that person may only have $20 to offer on that $40 item. I understand that if they only have $20 and probably shouldn't be buying crap off eBay, but I just politely decline. I typically will get agitated by the person that wants a discount and free shipping, when you tell them "no" they say "I'll pay your price but can I get free shipping?" You say "no" and they ask "what's the lowest you would go." I typically just block them immediately.
Reasonable offers don't bother me but when they start off at something like 90% lower than asking price, I'm not going to engage with that buyer. I have room on pricing on some things but I usually have a sale going which means I can't discount much more or offer free shipping and make any kind of profit. I get the occasional "what is the lowest you would take" question and I always want to respond with "what's the highest you would pay" question.🤣 It's really no different than what they are asking.

That's crazy that they would ask that but really, nothing a buyer asks or does surprises me anymore.
