I have a million dollar question, Why don't you sell books on Amazon and eBay as well as other platforms like your own website? This is what a lot of us are doing. I only sell books on eBay that I'm gated on Amazon and i know they will bring good profits. I also don't have zero duds as I post all books to one of the two platforms or my own website were i sell discount books. Not bragging but it has work for me! Good luck enjoyed your video God bless!

As a book seller I can tell you first hand an answer to your question. Like thrift books for example signed a contract with goodwill to buy truck loads of gaylords for no more than 3 cents per book. Goodwill wouldn't contract with us unless I could buy 56 gaylords at a time because they are under contract to thrift books. Making profit when your cost is a few penny's is easy. And they buy theirs buy the truck load and train car load. Profit is in the volume. 75 cents profit adds up fast when you sell 3 almost 4 million books in a year.

too much competition now from reselling and people are now starting to sell directly on ebay instead of garage sales (people born in the 70s and 80s), because this is the last generation of people who dont know how to use eBay - reselling wont be viable much longer in my opinion. my reselling business is going down the drain

I did a claim years ago, like pre-covid, and it took a few weeks then, they are slower since now so I'm guessing it probably took an average time frame to get through your claim. 🤷‍♀️

I feel you on slooow sales... it's been crazy!!

I live in MS. Looking at addresses that I've sold to over the past few years, most addresses are in CA or TX. My shipping costs are about 20-up to 60% more than a seller in those states. So I quit trying to compete with anything that would only bring $1-2 in profit after cost, shipping, supplies, and seller fees. Instead, I focus on items that I can price at half of the Amazon price and still turn a $10 profit on rare dvds, cds, vhs or audio cassette tapes. Or $40-100 on rare books.

I'd go through the patterns and list any costumes. I sold a Marie Antoinette pattern for $40 recently!
