no. He is just a human of badminton. Lcw is the greatest of all time. Reason he beat momota (no.1) but Lindan failed. That is the real reason Lcw is the greatest of all time. Peter gade, Taufik, Lindan and Chen long said Lee chong wei is the greatest. Only Lee chong wei says Lin dan is his toughest opponent.

His achievements contributed a lot to popularise badminton. His rivalry with LCW- one of the most memorable and exciting ones in sport. This is the end of an era, really. He will be missed❤
My coach used to play against Lin Dan when he was in China in 2009. When I asked him how did u feel playing against Lin, he said Lin's hit was extremely quick and unpredictable.
All this gameplay he created... it is even more unfathomable in retrospect... the best player who´s ever graced the courts as Gillian once said.

Lin Dan played in his own leauge. People always say about the 4 kings - Hidayat, LCW , PGade. But come on, LD is the true king here, he won against all of those players like a lot. And won the most major trophies out of all of them. LCW is a legend but Lin Dan is the GOAT

One of the best videos I have seen in a long time.. What a legend Super Dan... TBH when I saw him play for the first time ever.. I just didn't like him becoz of his arrogant swagger.. That wasn't Arrogance that was Swag of Pure Talent... And he just grew on me from that day... So fortunate to have witnessed GOATs like Taufiq vs Gade and Lin Dan vs Lee Chong Wei... An Era is over and that's how you Define Badminton in its purest form!

Totally agree my friend. LCW vs Lin Dan 2008 Olympics, 2011 WC, 2012 Olympics, 2016 Olympics semi final... Probably 4/10 best matches in badminton history
That’s a fact anyway. Lcw can’t be compared with lin dan. But without Lcw, we wouldn’t be witnessing lot of great matches. And without lin dan, Lcw wouldn’t be training that hard too.
tan zhe heng what I’m saying is not statistics, is the medals won by Lin Dan, it’s not a walk away win every single medal match against LCW. He is great, for sure he is. But if his opponent is someone else, someone weaker than LCW it wouldn’t be such a accomplishment in my opinion. He also claimed himself without LCW he wouldn’t have trained much harder every single day.

I think one of the most extra advantages for lin dan was his smashing technique because if we see it detail in full motion he is actually hiding the racquet head in his back and knocking the shuttle cock for the last possible moment as he can making the opponent is still in guessing position making it hard to judge where the shuttle is going.
Not only that, but he has many kinds of variations to his shots, in every corner. Which makes him so unpredictable to play against

Look at him dominating today's best players Ginting and Momota when he was well past his prime (mid 30s) and they were in their early 20s. 10 years from now let's see how well Ginting and Momota stack up. 35 year old Momota vs 22 year old Lin Dan? I would surprised if Momota could get above 10 points each game

actually lindan at 22 was still quite unpolished. His speed and power peaks at 25 ish (2008) and his technique and game craft peaks at around 28 29 (2011-2012). The 2008 ver alone would be tough enough for today's player let alone the perfected London version of him.
@@prw6430 Sure his technical skill wasn't impeccable in 2008, but score-wise he still managed to beat LCW by a gap. When he was 22, his athleticism and smashing literally every clear made him so aggressive.
Cardboard Ownage I would say lin Dan at 2010-2012 would beat 2008 lin Dan when his skill was at his finest. Lin Dan be aggresive at the age of 2010-2012 if needs to. But his shots and setup are just perfect
