      @@isaka6361 There's no way he's the goat... If you put him in todays era of badminton he wouldn't be able to last as long. Reasons why?
      1. Smash power. We have technology to measure the speed of smashes, and most smashes around mid part at above 340km is hard to take / very weak return. Todays era of game has these kind of smashes but to the line... for example players like Lakshya sen, ginting, lzj, and axelsen.
      2. Rally length. todays players also play faster paced rallies for long durations of time... this would would have made it very difficult for LIn to maintain pace
      But then again, theres no 100% real way to compare other than this so i can't really assume anything :)

      @@dontclickthis9179 Lin Dan.... Who is way past his prime (like 35 years old) could go toe to toe and sometimes even beat the players you mentioned...who are physically at their prime. Prime Lin Dan can beat them all... Not with ease... With some difficulty of course but he would win 7/10 or 8/10 with most of them

    Exercises mainly focus on the flexible, fast, strain, endurable for both legs and both wrist hands and body: fast runner , high jumper with elastic,quick motorcyclist, strong weight lifter...that's reason why he footworks on court as if he does not move at all and fast, light and reflexible..after all, he is gift-talented badminton player and highlighted that play both right and left handed player. That is to say he uses both left and right brain at same time.

    That ball catching exercise at the beginning is not for fun actually. It's for building his balance so that he can move more agile on court with stable base.

    for the bicycle one I have to comment. In the original video source they said that in Chinese, they do a 20s or 30s as a set, and they do 9 sets, the resting interval is 10s in order to fit the pace of a badminton.

    How often does he train like this? Daily? When does he take a break?

    • @ttsing
      @ttsing 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually this video was taken from his 2013 video after his olympics where he stopped training badminton (almost totally) but hired a physical fitness trainer to train him everyday just to maintain his physical fitness. This trainer designed the exercises specifically for Badminton and focused on maintaining speed and stamina (which are the 2 most important elements in Badminton according to the trainer). It was stated he trained like this 6 days a week except on Sundays. 2 days for upper body, 2 days for lower body, and everyday there's the jumping and sprinting part.

      resistance training thats not specific t sport has constantly proven to be completely useless in terms of performance, it does nothing to get the job done, alot of other factors and training will help performance
