      Last time I was at the airport I asked the security guy something, he signaled he was deaf so I just pointed at my camera (if I needed to put it somewhere, first flight ever) so he nodded and all nice. While i was putting my shoes and stuff back on the other side this old man was screaming at the guy and another security staff just pulled him to the side. Why is people like this 😭

    • @superdave8248
      @superdave8248 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      She noticed. Which is why she kept doubling down on the accusations. It is the "Amber Heard" Syndrome. If you aren't getting enough personal attention, you just keep adding more to the story to sensationalize it.
      But in this case, as soon as the woman saw blood, she knew she was cooked. Her only thought process was to make it appear as self defense. Only she didn't know when to shut up as she panicked.
      A few days in jail probably would do her a world of good. No doubt in my mind that she hired an attorney, plead down, and cried like a banshee as she apologized for her behavior to the court. If I was the judge, I'd make her do community service, pay for the guy's medical bills and pain and suffering, and call it a day. The booking and a day or so in county jail can do a whole lot to humble a wild Karen. The assault on a police officer alone would all but guarantee she would stay in county jail until she stood before a judge. She wouldn't be released on her own recognizance. Two assaults ... yeah, she would be cooling her heals in lock up for a minute. If reality didn't strike we they did her photos and finger prints, it sure would have come home to roost as soon as she had to strip down and do a cavity search.

      Narcissists rarely ever care at all about anything except themselves. They have no empathy. The only time they have anything close to feeling guilt is when they're ashamed at being put on blast and exposed for what they are. They gas light, emotionally manipulate, lie, cheat, steel and violate every other boundary placed in front of them because they have no respect which is thanks to not having any empathy. Believe me, I was raised in a very large family that behaves much like these entitled people in these videos.

    • @g.b569
      @g.b569 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@iononcantomascrivo Yeah, it's sad. For someone like myself who feels things deeply and wants to see the good in other people, it's hard to wrap one's head around narcissists. It's also even sadder (and maddening) that such people will take advantage of kindness to further their lives until you are no longer useful. I have worried that I was a narcissist because I like to talk about myself, but the fact that I have this awareness shows that I'm not. We all have self-involved traits, but narcissists feel nothing.

      Many of these out of control "karen" antics sound like symptoms of untreated mental illness. Perhaps if the police have to deal with them enough times, it'll get them on the list for the treatment they need. I'm probably being overly optimistic though. In the US, it seems that mental health is very much overlooked/ignored/stigmatized and isn't reliably covered by health insurance.

    I'm short and have often had to ask random strangers in shops if they'd fetch something from the top shelf from me. I've never been refused. If I ever was, I'd just say thanks and move on to the next random. If you're polite and just want a quick hand, people are usually only too pleased to help. They did get a bit loud at first, but nothing too much. They were college students and best friends who studied at times together. Ok DarkFluff I have to admit there are "Karens" in my area. This is the first I have ever seen live. I was in our local Superstore and I was reading ingredients on a package in the frozen section area when this woman grabs my arm and whirls me around, yelling that I help her instead of wasting time on my shift. Now I am 60 years old, wearing business attire. I told her "Excuse me??" and she responded telling me we were out of some type of chicken fingers (not sure exactly what she said because I was dumbfounded). She did not like that I just stood there looking at her with shock. "I will have your job you old crow if I don't get some service. I demand some respect". I looked at her for a second and then burst out laughing. I mean I had tears pouring down my face laughing so hard. She of course got angry and told me not to mock her. I said "Oh my gosh this is too good not to mock. I did not believe idiots like you existed." She then of course went on a tirade that she would talk to the manager, have me fired, etc etc. Everyone was staring here is this woman going off the deep end and I am howling in laughter. Once I got myself under control I slowly walked towards her forcing her to back up and said very clearly - "I don't work here, leave me alone or I will defend myself". She started screaming and carrying on then hauled off and slapped me across the face. I said "oh Shit" and decked her one right on the bridge of the nose. Now this tends to break the nose and cause a lot of blood, but it also tears up your eyes and lands you on your butt. I leave walk to customer service desk and ask them to call the police. When they got there I told one of the cops what had happened and what I did, when I looked over to the area that the idiot was I was amazed to see a bunch of people patiently waiting to talk to the other cop. It seemed that everyone was willing and eager to tell the whole story complete with Kapow sounds and gestures. One guy came up to me and shook my hand saying he had not had the good a show in a long time. So I am ashamed to say that there are Karens living in our part of the world but oh boy was it a good feeling to deck her for all the other victims she has probably had.

      I think some people get upset over "happy holidays" because of the whole "war on Christmas" narrative. It seems silly to me; media outlets dig up instances of perceived injustice against the holiday, then use it as rage bait because making their viewers angry increases engagement, which for them = $. And the rest of us have to deal with the angry, entitled BS of people who believe their holiday is under attack and lash out at the rest of us for daring to acknowledge that Christmas isn't the only holiday at that time of year. I think the real war on Christmas was lost long ago...its been coopted as a secular greed fest that tries to creep earlier each year and ends on Christmas Eve. I prefer to celebrate from the 25th through 6 Jan. By then, the greed fest is done and I can actually relax and enjoy the holy day.

    Story 3: Oh God, I feel for this woman so much! Airports and railway stations are the worst during holidays. Before the pandemic, my mum and I used to visit family during Easter and even though we didn´t have bad experiences at airports before, Chinese railway stations are another story. The last time we were in China (2019), we were at the station in our hometown to buy tickets back to Shanghai. We waited nearly 1,5 hours until it was our turn. When it was only 2 customers before us, a middle-aged lady wanted to jump queues because she was late for her train. I got furious! Why should we let her do that when she can´t manage her time? We waited for 1,5 hours! The customer before us said, that she should queue up like everyone else, and her missing her train is no excuse for her bad time management. She started yelling and cursing. Then I jumped in and said calmly: "God Lord, you should be ashamed of yourself that you behave like this in front of the younger generation. I am 24 and know how to act properly! Watch your mouth, there are kids around." I said this because there were kids around with their grandparents as well, they shouldn´t hear these cuss words. You could see how embarrassed that lady was. The seller from the ticket station told her that she didn´t care that she is going to miss her train and she is not selling her anything unless she queues up. The Karen wanted to argue with her, but the seller flat out said no and she needs to queue up or leave, otherwise she will call the security. Finally, the Karen backed up and left. Seriously, I applaud the workers there for handling these types of situations. They have to face these types of Karens literally every day.

      She could have been one of those rabid Evangelicals who seem to think that they need to be the "morality police". In truth, some strippers start out their act in a waitress uniform, and then remove it, but their costumes are usually more revealing than what an actual waitress would wear on the job, and they do NOT wear the costume out of their workplace. I'd have to say, having worked in restaurants and diners for over half my working life, that if she was being tipped dollar bills, she must have been a great waitress, because those I worked with usually only got change as tips. A former housemate of mine worked as a waiter in a fancy hotel/resort, and he got bills as well as change, because the customers there were fairly wealthy, and many tipped well for good service, which he tried to provide.

    1st story: what Waffle House has Karen seen? did she walk into one that actual was a strip joint (one that used word play to have a simular name?) and assume all waffle houses are strip joints? Or does she think she is the only non stripper woman outside of her family not a stripper? I mean who confuses someone clearly in a waitress uniform from a waffle house for a stripper?
    either deeper stuff. like husband says he was going to waffle house but was really going to a strip joint?

    Story 1: reminds me of a joke where my dad said he called his cousin a "two bit whore" and she hit him with her sack of quarters. But really, wtf was wrong with the Karen for kicking out a paying customer bc she thought she was a stripper? Good thing the boss was there to fire her ass.
    Story 2: I don't care if she's a woman- if someone grabbed me, they would be on the floor. If I had worked there I would have called a manager & had that hag banned from the store permanently.
    Story 3: I wish OP had pressed charges since she was actually injured & had a bruise. Karen should have gone to jail for that one as well as being banned from flying.
    Story 4: Old entitled dudes can be the worst. I've encountered a few. My friend's grandfather is like that. He honks his horn at people, snaps his fingers, & tries to order people around. He learned that didn't work with me so he asks me nicely for things but he bosses around my friend & some of the younger male friends like they are servants.
    Story 5: I really don't know what gets in to some people-- that she was nasty enough to draw blood bc she was too stupid to understand he didn't work there. Even if he had worked there its no excuse. I'm glad he pressed charges. Too bad he didn't sue her for pain & suffering.

      In regards to the old dudes, not an excuse but explanation. Older people often have a lot of chronic pain. You can't see it but believe me we feel it. Even the nicest of us can have a really bad day. We sort of snap and become feral. Sometimes we can be absolute aholes because of it. Allow me to apologize for us in advance. I've never physically assaulted anyone or been as nasty as people in these stories though. So, I do get it. But I think a lot of times people are just jerks. My friend's grandfather has been a jerk his whole life. Before he was disabled (by an accident at work in his 20s or 30s) he was beating his wife and kids & making his wife do everything at home. After he became disabled she had to go to work and still do all the housework. He was capable of doing it, but he wanted servants/slaves & treats other people like garbage.

    I remember saving up for a new laptop with a bunch of odd jobs. I ended up bringing a little over $600 to the store, a good chunk being $1 bills, so I wondered what the cashier would think. She was more concerned that she had to put that much cash in the safe since it wasn't allowed to have over a certain amount in the register. Gave me a little perspective, even if it had been from stripping, that most people would be more concerned with what they've got going on to notice/care. A different cashier put it as "you have to do what you have to do" when I apologized for having so many single bills and I keep those two in mind when I start overthinking stuff.

    Dang, that’s really scary with what had happened in the last story. You just never how one can seriously hurt a person simply by grabbing them. So many of us are able to hide our sensitive, or deformed or lacking there of underneath our clothes. And what may be thought of a simple scratch that had been enough to draw blood would take weeks to heal rather than a few days with a healthier person.
    I had cancer and had a few of my parts removed due to it all. One part had been my breast and even though it’s been a few years past, dang, it is still really sensitive to touch and it will hurt if you do. Sometimes it can even ache a few days with no reason. None of it fun.
    I cannot imagine someone running into that part or hitting it would cause me. I do know if it’s deliberate, okay, I don’t know, but I’m leaning to a whoop a ss if they’re the same se x as I am. I’ve had a few bumps and jolts and it takes more that a day to not feel the pain any longer. Heck, as I’m typing this, its starting to ache no matter how small the movement. So I feel absolutely terrible for the gent in the last story. I cannot imagine the pain he went through and in all of those weeks in a sling, just so he could properly heal. My goodness, I actually hope that Karen spent some good time in jail. Let her stew over what she did, and hopefully, but not for certain, treat others with more respect, because you just don’t know where they’ve come from or their story.
