Fishing has been tough here the past few weeks. I catch a few here and there but they just don’t seem to be biting much. We also went from very dry to raining just about every day. Temperatures are about 10 degrees cooler too. You would think those combinations would make them active but it hasn’t.
Southern California here… I start bass fishing mid October to mid March then switch to surf fishing here and in Mexico. The reason being is our lakes are smaller compared to the rest of the country therefore extremely pressured from Spring through Summer.
Went out last week, no other boats out and caught -0-. Had two fish contacts. Fished many of the recommended lures for Sept. but found no fish on points, docks, rip-rap....shallow and deep. Saw deer and herons by the water. Water temp was 80 and lake was down about 2 ft.
Our weather if fluctuating from just under 80 degrees to 39 degrees. What should I be using then? Asking for a friend. Okay okay, it’s me. Fish aren’t biting anything right now it seems.
I couldn’t catch jack on any of my top techniques last Friday so I tied on a bandit 100 in rootbeer and started catchin em. Was never a small crankbait guy but I am now
@@bassandtreblefishing West Virginia actually along the eastern ridge of the mountain. Been a wild weather swing for about a month now. Not used to it being this cool at the end of August and beginning of September. Fishings been more miss than hit no matter if it’s a lake, river, or stream. It is nice being out when it’s not so hot or I’m freezing to death though.i do appreciate the comments. Anything helps and I’ll definitely try anything at this point. Last year this time I couldn’t get em off the hook quick enough using a 1/4 ounce black and blue jig. Isn’t working this year. Yet.
@JohnZetty yeah man, been the same way up here. More Skunks or one fish nights than not. Water temps basically plummeted over night, and we're still like 4ft low for water levels. Been super dry summer. Try a swim jig with a paddle tail, you can still fish like a typical jig with a craw, but it adds just enough fishyness to call'em in. It can hit the edge of weeds, or get into the weeds, or open water. I mean all else fails go Ned rig, and dead stick. You'll go to pop it and a fish is already on after you do nothing for like 30 seconds. Long pauses are hard for me, but I've definitely noticed if I can fight my urge to pop it or move it for just a little longer it helps.

You should be doing these talks while you fish, I’d love to see you catching them while listening to you talk
Great video Randy. Early fall is my absolute favorite time of the year to fish here in SE PA.
These are the videos I like seeing you do. Thanks
Thank you very much for the video sir.
Really good juice here, Randy! Thanks!
