I knew that these top pros always shared their tips and tricks for a long time and that they never fully reveal all of it. We have to take what is shared with us and go out and figure it out for ourselves at that point and I get it, this is how they make their living. I appreciate what you share and I have used your links to buy tackle when needed. Great video Randy and looking forward to seeing your new boat when you get it!!

What about a Jitter Bug, Nobody ever mentions those, Ever, and I've caught a ton of bass on that bait???

Any time a pro comes on our podcast, we always have the discussion and I tell them straight up, you do not have to give up your "Juice". What I ask them to do is at the end of the show, I want a viewer to feel like he can take what he has heard and go catch more bass. When you are upfront, the pro generally gives way more than enough and our viewers are thankful for that. I think both sides know the game but we manage to bring them together in a way that works. As long as everyone knows the game, it can work and our viewer testaments confirm this. If someone isn't willing to help his fellow anglers, they don't get invited on the show.

This is very true lol. Just roomed with a friend for a recent BFL, and his boater from day 1 threw a specific bait the entire day for huge bag. When asked on day 2 what he caught his bass on he said without pause " JIG" When in fact he never even had one tied on lol.

FFS doesn't freeze the bass like a spotlight "freezes" deer.

When I fish, whether freshwater or saltwater, catching the most or largest fish possible on that day is not my main concern. I like satisfying my curiosity by trying different places, different lures/baits and techniques. I fish for enjoyment and often to answer questions that keep coming to mind. I abhor competitive fishing and tournaments. Some of us recreational fisherman still prefer certain unknowns and mystery in the sport.

I like how the tournament directors at local derbies ask the winners what they got them on, and the answers are generic “plastics,” or “cranks,” or “topwaters.” lol! Heck, my buddy and I have done that ourselves when we collected some checks.

Tournament fishermen never tell you the whole truth, you can give up your secrets, fishing is too hard as it is with the amount of anglers on the lake now.

@@kurtcarter761 you know what I mean, the ones whose YT channels are just about them fishing tournaments with no actual information that could help you catch more fish ... JW, DC, etc. it would be like Tom Brady having a YT channel when he was playing ... also I don't watch all of his opinion videos about the sport since I can make up my own mind and don't need someone else telling me what I should think ...

Very interesting, because you’re no longer a true professional fisherman, you can give away all your secrets and you’ll be honest because it doesn’t affect how you finish in tournaments that you no longer fish? Is that what you were trying to say?

Trout are trash gamefish. They're everywhere, they're easy to catch, and they die if you look at them funny. Bass are actually difficult to catch, fight well, and have great catch and release survival ratio. Perch literally aren't gamefish bro, they bite ANYTHING in the water...

  • @johnoates356

I get what you're saying, it happens in lots of different trades. But it does seem a bit strange to sit there and talk about partial stories and not giving up all the secrets, then promoting your paid channel that has more information you haven't given up. Love you channel, but this is probably my least favorite video of yours.
