4:50 Sorry to say, but I'm Asian, I'm 30,and my mom always lets rice sit out for hours before putting it in the fridge. My family and our relatives are all superhuman.
I work in the automotive industry. Fun fact, if you read what’s called the owners manual it will usually tell you the intervals for vehicle maintenance. And while technically you can go 10k miles between oil changes, I myself will change the oil around every 5k. So roughly twice a year. But it does depend on how many miles your car has and what kind of oil you put in. But when it comes to oil changes, I would do it more frequently than not. Besides, companies don’t make much money on oil changes, it’s everything else that makes them money. Also, EVs do have maintenance, just not as often.
Also the type of driving makes a huge difference: city or highway. Another note: EV may not have as frequent maintenance, but repairs are extremely expensive, if can be done at all.
That last part is so true the place I go often has discounts for their oil changes and one time they said my filter was dirty I asked how much they charge and it was more than the oil change. I said no thanks I’ll just get one from O’Reillys for 12 bucks
If there’s anything to not ignore on a car it’s the oil change. It’s the one thing you can easily do to ensure your engine lasts longer than you’ll own it.

I stopped going to the dentist for 20 years. When my gums started bleeding I had to go. I had periodontal disease and had to have treatment for the next year. I was painful and expensive. They also told me that it could lead to heart disease. So it’s good to keep your teeth clean!
I bought an organic skin lotion once and didn't use it for months. When I found it in the bathroom cabinet, I decided to put it in a different bottle. When I opened it, it had mold all over the inside. I never realized organic skin lotions could go bad.
Planned obsolescence. You should really bring this to light. When you go by the vehicle maintenance reminder it is meant to do the bare minimum. Gets the car outside of warranty period. Once that warranty is done, they believe you’ll come back to buy a car instead of pay for that major engine repair caused by lack of preventative maintenance. Preventative maintenance is not a marketing gimmick. However, find someone to trust. Someone who is not twisting your arm or scaring you into repairs. If you change your oil every 3k to 5k you’ll be good. These cars do not have a sensor that touches the oil and knows it’s still ok. Most cars can’t even tell if it is low on oil until the pressure is low! Not to mention how many car companies say going through one quart every 750 to 1,000 miles is acceptable. If your car holds 5 quarts, you go 5,000 miles, how much oil could be left in your car? That’s acceptable to the manufacturer and within their specs. So many things are dependent upon oil quality and pressure. Timing chain tension for instance. Being that maintenance reminder up as planned obsolescence. Don’t tell people that frequent oil changes is a gimmick. You’ll cost them more in major repairs than preventative maintenance.

Y’all!! Oil changes are a must. I was in high school, my dad had this car & it was a dream for him. Always be safe with food - toss it sooner rather than later. It's not worth getting food poisoning. My dad, an electrician and mechanic, said oil changes are what helps keep your vehicle last longer. Maybe my genetics aren't great because I had tones of cavities as a child. I think cleaning teeth regularly is a very good idea. I have good dental habits with flossing and brushing. I still have excessive tarter that needs to be removed. My husband doesn't take care of his teeth. At least 5 of them rotted and fell out leaving jagged edges so removal was necessary. I have chronic back problems from my job (I'm retired). I still need to see a chiropractor, but it's my decision how often. You don't have anything if you don't have your health, so I do my best to take care of it.
As a child, I sat so long at the table for not finishing everything I put on my plate. I didn’t have to eat, but if I put it on my plate, I had to eat it.
My parents always told me it was illegal to have the dome light on in the car at night! Now that I'm getting to the age they probably were then, I totally get it. We tell our kids that they have to be a doctor to sit on the round chair with wheels in the doctor's office, and that they have to have a driver's license to push the cart in certain stores.
My friend's daughter didn't change the oil and the engine seized up and was worthless. Her options were to drive the old family van to high school, which embarrassed her, or ride the school bus, which mortified her. She drove the old van. Now she is a doctor and she gets her oil changed like clockwork.

"Here's the conspiracy, did dairy farmers have some stake in how much milk was being sold?" Got Milk was explicitly a campaign by American dairy farmers to sell more milk, yes. It's not even a conspiracy it's just an easily verifiable fact. This is a deep rabbit hole but many of the foods we know we "should" eat are basically the result of lobbying by special interest groups who wanted to sell more. Also, companies routinely get "help" from the government to develop and advertise products that include things they want to sell in order to benefit farm lobbies. Stuffed crust pizza at Pizza Hut, for example, was essentially a coordinated campaign by the dairy lobby to manage a milk oversupply by providing a cool new way to consume more dairy. More recently, a pro-dairy campaign at Dominos did the same ("we use real cheese"). It's really wild when you spend some time on this topic. Even "welfare cheese" was the government explicitly trying to help our dairy farmers. They're a powerful lobby.
It's also why the food pyramid should be taken with a grain of salt. It was developed in part to help with consuming a balanced diet, but there was significant external pressure to include things that aren't strictly necessary because of farm lobbies.
I grew up on a dairy farm, I loved drinking the milk right out of the tank when it was cooled. It tastes way better than the homogenized, pasteurized you buy in the store, and it's way better for you. And dairy is good till it tastes or smells sour, who cares about the date.

As someone with Sjogren's syndrome (autoimmune disease), I know first hand what not going to the dentist does. My mouth produces very little saliva AND I have no enamel on my teeth. Medical insurance won't cover the tens of thousands of dollars for needed treatment because it's a "dental" issue, even though the underlying cause is medical. Dentists are not a scam. That being said, my husband has gone to the dentist one time in the 33 years I've known him (for a cracked tooth), and he's just fine.
Do the float test with the eggs. Put one at a time in a full large glass of water. If the egg sinks and stays at the bottom it is good. If it floats it’s bad…
My friend and I had our pictures done with the “Got Milk” mustache at Easton mall in Columbus, Ohio. It was that big where they did little “pop ups” I guess. I so wish I still had that picture! It was a really thick vanilla shake 🤣
The problem was that back then they prioritized milk over water. Now we know to push water. At day care I serve kids water all day. They have milk at home for breakfast and dinner. I serve cheese or yogurt during the day. It’s the calcium that is needed. And only 3 servings. A child’s sippy cup is usually over 1 serving 🤷🏼♀️
Eggs we all keep outside, they do not dry as quickly as in the fridge. Dairy is refrigerated but if I left it in a car for 48h in 40c heat then may be it would be a toss. But if it is under 20c, it would be fine.
Oil change every 3k miles full synthetic. Redline the car most times I drive it. Never had an internal engine issue. Snapped axels and blew up a diff but never any engine issues
Okay no don’t fully brush off oil changes and DONT fully trust your vehicles own meter. Modern cars nowadays just use a timer for the oil changes intervals and it is debatably way too long of mileage before you should change your oil
Scam my mom told me: on a certain long car trip, I needed to stop to pee. With 4 kids in the family & a long way to go, another potty stop was just not part of the plan. She gave me a handful to potato chips & told me to eat them to “soak up the urine in your bladder”😂
Most animal foodstuffs that don't kill the animal are much healthier, safer, and last longer than the store bought stuff if you get it directly from the animal. Pasteurizing milk is only required for long term storage and distribution. Eggs can last months or even up to a year if handled properly. These have to be straight from the animal though, not store-bought stuff
FYI-If you have the interior light on when you are driving you run a high risk of being pulled over because it's a big red flag for being a drunk driver :-)
That whole rice thing... What is one to do then?? If you put a pot of rice in the fridge that's still too hot, you're at risk of the center staying in the "danger zone" for too long where bacteria multiplies🤦♀️ 🙃
If you sign up for a free trial but don't expect to keep the membership just cancel it the same day. You won't get charged at the end and you won't need to remember to cancel it later.
It depends on the membership but in my experience a lot of free trials also cancel the trial service when the payment method is removed/canceled. So doing this would essentially turn a month trial into a day trial, for example.
Also I think the issue with milk today is that most foods are fortified with Vitamin D. So milk is not actually necessary. Back then most food were not fortified. Even the box of plain cereal has vit. D.
Unless you fast for an entire day, you are eating breakfast. The word breakfast defines itself. It’s the first thing you eat in a day breaking your fast from the last thing you ate the previous day. It doesn’t matter what time you break your fast or what food you eat to break your fast, it’s breakfast.
The name "clean plate club" may have been invented by gen X parents, but the concept has been around much longer. I'm a boomer, and my parents (greatest generation) made me clean my plate. I never made my kids clean theirs. On the flip side, they couldn't eat anything else after dinner if they passed on their meal because "they were full."
Dont know what type of rice do you all use. But in our household and majority of Philippines. Cook rice enough for the whole entire day and leave it out. 😂😂 by the end of the day we eiter ate it all or its going to the ref (fridge). 😂
Eggs are great because they can last months. To check if an egg is good to eat put it in a glass of water. If it sinks it's a good egg. If it floats, it's a bad egg.
My dad went to the chiropractor and has wires in his chest from open heart surgery. The x-ray he was shown didn’t show wires on the chest. Pretty sure it was just a mistake and he corrected the chiropractor, but it is possible. 🤷♀️
Our family LOVES the new intro with Michael Reddish, the mixologist! Excellent concept!

Depends on the item. Meat, dairy, eggs. I have a hard stop. Innocuous items like shelf stable canned goods and pasta, I’m more lenient.
Iook up how long the FDA allows before eggs have to go to stores
Most animal foodstuffs that don't kill the animal are much healthier, safer, and last longer than the store bought stuff if you get it directly from the animal. Pasteurizing milk is only required for long term storage and distribution. Eggs can last months or even up to a year if handled properly. These have to be straight from the animal though, not store-bought stuff
FYI-If you have the interior light on when you are driving you run a high risk of being pulled over because it's a big red flag for being a drunk driver :-)
I save the condiments for like a year. Yall wilding! I’m like Winston … oh shoot, it’s only been out a night. I’m good … I’ll eat it 😅
That whole rice thing... What is one to do then?? If you put a pot of rice in the fridge that's still too hot, you're at risk of the center staying in the "danger zone" for too long where bacteria multiplies🤦♀️ 🙃
This video was awesome
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Intro looks cool~!
I neglected my oil changes for years, always postponed them and then the engine on my car shit the bed. Definitely don’t neglect your oil changes haha
I’m not that scared of expired food. I’ve eaten expired foods a lot. But somehow expired skin care always causes issues. So I don’t try those 😝
Also I think the issue with milk today is that most foods are fortified with Vitamin D.
For oil changes, the sticker they set up for 3000 miles. I do mine every 5000. That is good.
Stopped going to chiropractor and started using inversion table instead
The name "clean plate club" may have been invented by gen X parents, but the concept has been around much longer. I'm a boomer, and my parents (greatest generation) made me clean my plate. I never made my kids clean theirs. On the flip side, they couldn't eat anything else after dinner if they passed on their meal because "they were full."
Nice stinger!
New intro is a nice touch, will it change based on the drink of the week?
Thanks, Brandon! 😊 Some of the content will change each week, but the footage of our mixologist making the drink will stay the same for now.
My dad went to the chiropractor and has wires in his chest from open heart surgery. The x-ray he was shown didn’t show wires on the chest. Pretty sure it was just a mistake and he corrected the chiropractor, but it is possible. 🤷♀️
on the milk thing , there is a Dairy Lobby
Eggs last forever … I’ve never even checked a date
Cosmetics can turn pretty toxic, depending on the product, past the expiration date
Tell them to shake the dust out of the air filter and put it back. Then change it yourself.
