I'm with George on getting there 1 hour and half before the flight to make sure I'm not late. Getting there that late would give me anxiety
Especially if you are checking bags. If you arrive less than an hour before the flight, there's no guarantee that your bags are getting on that plane. (I work at an airport). Like Rachel carry on and/or gate check if possible.
Best wishes, Lindsey! God Bless as you prepare to welcome your precious new addition to your family xo
Lindsey, blessings to you on the baby delivery ! May God be with you !❤
I'm with George, meal plan around sale items.
Yes! Saves so much on meat items for sure. 👍🏼
Lindsey will be missed!! thanks for creating a great and fun Podcast. She'll be a GREAT mom!!!
Lindsey you are an awesome producer and funny and talented. You are going to be an amazing mother. I will miss you and the way you asked George and Rachel the guilty as charged questions. I am sad but I wish you the best😢 😊
Wishing you all the best Lindsey!!!
We have an almost 2 year old and I'd MUCH rather drive than fly if it's under 1000 miles. You get to keep your own car and load it up as full as you want. No stangers sitting next to you. More comfortable. Leave whenever you want. Stop whenever you want. I get that flights vs. time saved is an argument, but when you add in parking at the airport, rental car, and the stress of flying, I'll drive.
Oh 100%. I flew to Jacksonville from stl last Thursday right after Milton went through and then Monday back home. Both flights only had about 50 people. It was quite lovely!!
As the owner of a wood fired pizza food truck, I must tell you that pepperoni pizza with hot honey will change your life! Also, since opening my own business, I'm happy to pay somebody to clean my house. WORTH IT.
Lindsey congrats on your baby! Enjoy it all! My fourth baby is graduating high school next spring! Yikes! But you know what? I took the advice of someone to enjoy it all and I don't regret it. Oh, believe me you will have many nights that you get them all in bed and go Holy Cow! I'm glad this day is done! and that is okay to enjoy that time alone or with your spouse. I enjoyed the kids nap time too!🌞 I really enjoyed reading books to them every night, making cookies with them, and teaching them their abc's, and so many more things.🌞 The only 2 things i really hated were potty training and teaching them to drive. Oh my goodness! Was always so glad when those were done.🌞 May the Lord bless you and give you special time with your family. I can see you snuggled up with your precious baby and having the time of your life raising him!
Lindsey's laugh, it's the best 😊❤
No it’s awful and annoying and nerve grating
I am a stay at home mom. When kids were young i mostly went to walmart for groceries. When kids were in school i shopped one day a week. I went to up to 7 to 10 stores in my town to get the best sales at all places that i could get to from 9 to 2:30 and get home in time for the bus. I would eat out that day as well. We live in the country and have 20 minutes to get to the town and i made my time count. It depends on if you have a job and what your time is worth. For me it was my fun day out and i enjoyed the challenge and exercise of finding the best deals. What helped was having a big pantry and if something was a really good deal i bought as much as we would use by the expiration date. Everyone has to do what works for them. This worked for me.🌞
George should be so thankful for his protected childhood!
7:48 I’m with George on this one also. I eat what’s on sale.
Same. If grapes and kiwi and cantaloupe are on sale this week that’s what I buy. Next week it might be strawberries and blackberries and honeydew. Always bananas. 😂
9:31 I'm such a child this made me giggle 😂
I laughed out quite loudly 🤣😂🤣
I'm with George. I will go to two stores like Rachel but they are four blocks apart. But I also meal plan based on what's on sale. Protein I stock up when it's on sale, but side dishes I buy what's fresh and on sale.
In regards to flying vs driving: By the time you put gas in your car and pay for a hotel because you can't do the trip in one day, sometimes flying is cheaper (unless you have a travel buddy, then you can split the gas/hotel). On the other hand, if I'm trying to fly somewhere 4-6 hours away, by the time you factor in driving to the airport, getting their two hours early, taxiing upong arrival because your gate isn't open, waiting for your luggage...you could have already been at your destination.
Also depends on if you need to rent a car at your destination or not. The rental car costs have gotten really high.
4-6 hour flight is NYC- VEGAS(37 hr drive) or Chicago - LA.
If you are going NYC-Boston (1hr 20 min flight), driving or Amtrak can be faster.
Will miss her being there!! Congrats Lindsey!
You are a NERD George!!!!
You will LOVE being a mom Lindsey!!! ❤️😍
You are your family and George and his family are welcome to stay with us ❤ always
after 4 years of ordering my groceries for curbside pickup at walmart, i finally paid the annual fee for walmart+ to get my groceries delivered to my house for free. i'm at a point in my life that waiting even 10 minutes to pick up my groceries is too much time to waste if i want to maximize my full schedule. it is worth EVERY penny to me to pay for this membership :')
Congratulations Lindsay! You will be missed but I'm so excited for you!
God Bless you and your growing family, Linsey! Thank you for all your hard work xx
Congratulations Lindsay 🎊
I love George soooo much!!!!!!! I agree with him with almost everything ❤❤
Best wishes to Lindsey!!!🎉
Good luck and blessings to Lindsey and her family!
Love Lindsey!!! Enjoy being home with that baby! We'll miss you!
Being a midwesterner, Rachel's 5 hour road trip limit made me laugh out loud 😂. Not hating, but I recently drove from Dayton, Ohio to Destin, Florida in one day 😂
yeah, I live in Texas, I can drive 5 hours in every direction and still be in Texas lol...... 13hrs drive time in 24hrs is about our limit before a nap is needed....
When I moved out west, my wife and I drove from Baton Rouge, LA, to El Paso in a day. Left at 8:00AM Easter and pulled in at midnight local time.
Picking meals based on what is on sale is my strategy as well. It's the best way to eat better than rice and beans on a budget. Frugal on George!
Congratulations Lindsay on your new baby boy 💙😊
💕All the blessings, Lindsey!
I shop the sale too. Same as George- I get a meat, carb and veggies. I like to eat what’s in season because that’s what’s usually cheapest and tasty!
Love these two together, so entertaining! 🤣❤️🙌🇨🇦❤️
💞 Lindsay you will be missed, enjoy being a mom.
Lindsay, baby joy wins over everything, congratulations!
In ATL, I always get to the airport 2 hours before boarding…you never know how bad it will be.
Needed a break from the Ramsey calls I was binging.. love your content!
So happy for producer Lindsey! ❤ Godbless!
Will miss Lindsey for sure!! Best wishes to you and baby boy!! Loved this episode...so fun!!!
So love Lindsay. Best wishes on her new bundle of joy. ❤❤❤
Lindsey’s last show 😫 😭 😢 love you girl!!! Enjoy those baby boy cuddles 🥰 🩵
13:24 My wife and I 100% did this when we drove to Seattle to watch Metallica live. Either we spend $100 for close parking to the stadium or spend $15 and walk 15 minutes.
Sketchy downtown Seattle was a factor though
Lindsey will be missed, love this show!
I'm totally with George on shopping what's on sale. I'm single so it just makes the decision easy for me. I mostly shop at 1 store cause it's convenient and the tracking of how much I've saved this year is about $700. Shopping for 1 person!
I also never use delivery for food/local items. I've gotten Doordash once in my life, because I had a giftcard to use. I have another one I've had for a year I haven't used bc I just don't do delivery. Part of why I chose to live in a city is I can walk to pickup food.
I am with George on Truth or Dare. I was not at those parties, but my church youth group played it once at a girl's house, and the dad came in and sent us all home and some got in trouble. Not me. I chose truth.😂
Congrats & best wishes, Lindsey.
21:13
George😂😂😂. Good idea.
Penny smart. Dollar stupid is the phrase I like to use.
Best wishes, Lindsey!
Congratulations Lindsey!
Congratulations Lindsey ❤: wish you all the best
Congrats Lindsey! Looking forwarded to see updates!!
Lindsey, congratulations on your new baby boy❤🎉❤
Best to Lindsey and her next steps.
Best of luck Lindsey!
I sale hop. I am a couponer and I am good at it. All of our stores are fairly close together so gas isn’t really a factor. Also, I’m retired so time isn’t really a factor either.
Congratulations L we will miss you ! 👏👏👏😘🇨🇦
👏🏼 Love a great mocktail!! Another great episode in the books!
I love the phrase falleluileh
Best wishes to you Lindsey!! I"m new to the show, but loving it!!!
Grocery savings - in Alberta Canada - time savings for no extra money. Grocery delivery apps! I shop the sales of things ( no research needed) i will use in two weeks and alternate stores. I do Costco ( with a list) about once a month and then alternate Coop, PC Express and Walmart. The apps give you until midnight the day before to edit and so I don’t buy things we already have and avoid the impulse buying. Don’t scoff bc Walmart has some preferred items. I use Safeway for convenience when only buying 2 items or my almond milk. All these things at least save 2 hours shopping and the sales save about as much as the delivery and tip.
Is it a bit of s shock that Rachel was not at George daughter's 1st birthday party 😂
I only make 2 digit a year.
27% goes to retirement
Build 3 emergency funds.
One for the house and job
(God forbid I loose one)
2nd for leisure (dining out and travel)
3rd for house and car maintenance.
House expense 3k a month for 2 people.
Free of debt.
I spent most money in
grocery and eat out .
I love saving but I want to enjoy my life as well.
Trader Joe's is great for bulk nuts etc. and fun seasonal items. The halloumi there is super cheap as well. Love a good halloumi greek salad! Whole Foods isn't too bad either - I'll get some of my produce there, eggs, milk, meat. I also get produce delivered from a local food delivery service that works with local farms - great way to try new things.
3 grocery stores: Costco, Grocery Outlet, and 1 other (whichever has the best loss leader). Granted, I live in a small town and I plan my errands around the store location.
So many food delivery services - groceries but especially take aways - mess up the orders too often that I just find it easier to order online but go and get it myself. I’d say 25% of the time it’s still wrong and I have to go back into the food outlet to ask for what they forgot to put in or to swap out an item of food that’s just wrong 😔. Bulk buying warning - if you have lots of it to hand, you tend to use more of it more often, leading you to still buy it just as often. Anyway, best wishes to Lyndsay on growing her family and all the exciting times it will bring.
🫶 Congrats Lindsay!!
We'll miss you, Lindsay!!❤
Congratulations Lindsey! Why am I tearing up?!?!
Honestly with a baby/toddler, i feel like flying is so much harder and I'd so rather drive. Stop when we need to. Stretch when we want to. Take all the ridiculous gear associated with childhood. Plus flying has gotten soooo dang expensive. I vote driving for most trips!
Prepare to avoid ever having to buy gas in Franklin! Last week, filled up in Spring Hill … 60 cents less than Franklin had the same day.
My husband makes homemade pizza dough and one batch makes like 3 pizzas. So we freeze the other 2 doughs for later. We get our favorite toppings and bake the pizza in our backyard grill. I really love the experience of creating our pizza together and the savings, as takeout pizza keeps going up in price…. 10:34
Lindsey, congratulations on your new baby boy❤🎉❤😘
Congratulations & Good luck Lindsey ❤️💙
I'm with George, we love Marcos.
Walking after a meal is called a “Fart Walk” in some cultures!
I am collecting receipts to compare prices between grocery stores currently. I mix it up between convenience and what I assume is cheapest. I would like to compare and actually evaluate if the convenient store is actually reasonably priced or if its worth it to drive out to the cheaper store
I fill the top half of my tank. Instead of letting myself get low on gas, I fill up whenever I'm in the vicinity of Costco, which has the cheapest gas in our area instead of waiting till my tank is empty. Lots of benefits, and I never run out of gas😄
I can’t believe Rachel was shocked that you plan your meals beaded on what’s on sale. If you really want to save money, always look at ads and what’s on sale.
I think it's more that GEORGE was doing that. He's not in debt and doesn't need to.
Sometimes domino’s does half price specialty pizza if you do pickup. They even bring it to the car for you.
You have to try Detroit-style pizza! Specifically, Buddy's Detroiter! Best pizza in the world!
Congratulations Lindsey
Love Lindsay!
🫶🏼 Lindsay! We will miss you for sure. Enjoy your sweet baby boy snuggles.
~Mrs. Beefy
Red pepper flakes 🌶️ 🙌 👍 and the pepperchini I remember Papa John’s put in the box back in the day when I actually ate it. (I’d take bites of it and then pizza too Rachel haha, yum) But we don’t eat out. Home made meals are the best and healthiest. Health is priority here 🌿 💪 plus GF and DF like George 🤓
Guys guys guys... you just keep a stocked pantry and freezer of sale items and you meal plan based on what you're hungry for. So simple.
I always ask myself, if someone was going to pay me for a time consuming option, would I take the money, or the short cut.
For example, a toll road. If someone paid me $3 to take the longer route, would I take the money. If the answer is yes, then I shouldn't be taking the toll road (assuming there is another option)
Much ❤ to Lindsey 😊
🫶🏻 We’ll miss you Lindsey!
I agree with being early at the airport.
We’re going to miss Lindsay so much!!!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Caramel is more liquid and sticky.
Carmel is more of a hard texture. 😊
lol, I do online check in to save time and do carry on. Last trip I drove my self to the airport and did long term parking which was cheaper than a round trip Uber (3 days $ 15 per day)❤
RACHEL!!!! Papa John's all the way! You and I are pizza twins. 😂 Can we please meet up for lunch?
I'm a guy and don't like caramel. It's not a deal breaker. Like if I found out after the fact that a drink I ordered or a candy I already open has it in it. Then I'll still consume it and not waste it, but will always choose something without it when I have the choice.
I started stacking to SAVE wealth. I've always been the type of person to spend my entire paycheck. I hate having money just sit in the bank. I am under pressure to grow my reserve of $350k. before I turn 60, I would appreciate any advice on potential investments.
I think the safest strategy is to diversify investments. But if you need proper advice, consider speaking with a financial expertise. Don't get me wrong, you can do it on your own, but financial advisors have a lot more knowledge and expertise in this area.
Agreed, I've always delegated my excesses to an advisor, since suffering major portfolio loss early 2020, amid covid outbreak. I'm now semi-retired and only work 7.5 hours a week, with barely 25% short of my $1m retirement goal after subsequent investments to date.
I find your situation fascinating. Would you be willing to offer a trusted advisor you've worked with?
I'm cautious about giving specific recommendations since this is an online forum and everyone situation is unique, but I've worked with Judith Lynn Staufer for years and highly recommend her. Look her up to see if she meets your criteria.
Thank you for the lead. I searched her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.
A money hack that I definitely exploit to avoid shipping… I will buy enough to get free shipping and then return it (which is usually free- double check return policies first)… so I don’t buy things I don’t really need AND also score free shipping.
Noooo Lindsay!! Love her
My husband returned two of those traegers to Costco. They're having trouble with all of the table top ones.
