World Class Boxing Channel Coach. You've earned it and deserve every great comment and accolade because you are living proof that hard work, dedication, commitment and passion is the bedrock to all things.
As a coach I'm sure you were always praying you would meet someone who had your passion, commitment, endeavour, and the willingness to absorb lessons like a sponge... That added to a modicum of talent is the basis of what champions are made of... and oh, yes.... hard work!

Ever since I first saw Tyson fight, I was in awe of his movements… it was just super-human graceful magic. 30+ years on I stand in front of a mirror and switch and shift, and I finally see for the first time a glimmer of light which allows me to experience the joy of understanding something which seemed so unattainable. Thank you for sharing your experience, analysis, and masterful explanations.

Hi Tom, a big thank you to you for putting together this lesson, which I'm just starting to work through and will keep watching over and over again and implement while doing so. The level of detail you break down Mike Tyson's technique in this video and others is phenomenal. I don't think there is another boxing trainer on TH-cam who is able to match your expertise and experience as an elite trainer who has trained and continues to train elite boxers. Hence other videos that aim to teach people Mike Tyson's approach will always be inferior to your material in my opinion. They lack substance and contain flaws. As you say "greatness is in the detail". Thanks once again!

Switches are gold. Toughest part is hitting with power ambidextrously. As an orthodox boxer, feel i have zero power as a southpaw. Maybe I’ll switch to southpaw for few months to develop

Hey coach, would you perhaps consider doing some shadow boxing drills in the style of James Toney? He was an excellent defensive fighter and counterpuncher and it looks like he has some particular slipping/punching patterns. It would be nice if you could show some of these patterns.

Watching clips of Marvin Hagler he also switched stances. As a leftie it's a natural movement to move around the right hand and throw a hook or liver shot with the left foot forward. I have to watch these videos carefully to reverse the moves for southpaw. Mike Tyson was a scary beast in his prime.

Great stuff as usual. Where is the outro music from, particularly 18:55?
    Thanks!

Question: as a variation would it work, when throwing the jab to the body, to drop step at the same time or instead of a jab to the body, do a hock to the body, at the same time as the drop step? Thank you for all your tutorials, greatly appreciated, I’ve learnt so much.

Nice video. But I guess you need a strong lower body and core for using that.

It’s all about coordination of the technique through repetition. The proper technique is where your strength is at. You can do it!👊🏼

Are there any examples of taller fighter using this style.

9ether sk8life bantu No not really. This style was an asset for Tyson to make up for his height and reach deficits. I would advise a tall boxer to utilize all his physical attributes of having the height and reach on opponents!👇🏼

Love the Tyson drills! Love how you break it all down step by step into a pattern that we can just repeat and repeat and repeat. Tysons my favorite boxer of all time because we have the exact same build so I'm very appreciative of this✊🏻 Thanks a lot!

I was a student of Kevin rooney, nadia, at the Cus'Damato ko boxing gym in catskill for about a total of 7 years. I now teach the style to pass on Cus'Damato legacy. I admire your efforts but the explanations and purposes of what you are explaining about Mike's intentions are just flat out not correct. These are your interpretation they are mostly not correct I know you were never in catskill so I'm not faulting you for that. I feel like your videos are decent quality if you are interested in actually learning about Cus'Damatos style I am open for discussion. Just message me back and we can setup s time to talk. I do like your videos that is why decided to comment.
