  • A full top to bottom permission explore of Manchester's iconic Victoria station including the now derelict B.R.S.A club and its stunning secret underground.
One of the best explores I've done and one I will never forget.
Thanks to Reece Horton Photography and Mr X for the opportunity.
Stunning old school black and whites of the BRSA's regulars courtesy of Mr Robert Wise much appreciated pal.

Wow. I thought that your videos would be great for the future generations to see how our wonderful city used to be. Sorry, I was wrong. It also brings back lovely memories for us that are here now. That was fascinating. The memory for me was meeting my father in law (who worked at Victoria) after his shift had finished and going for a few scoops in the railway men's club down them stairs opposite the station entrance. Thanks for taking me back to those great times Clarky. Keep going R-kid.

Well, I’m a 56 year old woman and I should be outraged or at the very least saying “ Oh you silly lads. You could hurt yourselves!” But guess what? I love, love , love your work. I was glued to it and totally get your enthusiasm and excitement! I too love old buildings and mysterious places and, trust me, I’d be there with you, if I could ( maybe with a flask of tea and a first aid box though) . I’m from Manchester (God’s own city 😄💕) but now live in Liverpool. My husband recently had to survey an empty Georgian townhouse and let me go along too. I was in my element, mooching into every corner. Loved it, so yes, I get your obsession. Keep it up, but stay safe! Just subscribed. X

They’ve done up Victoria station nice now, I remember that little barber/beautician shop opposite the station. I’m surprised it’s still there, thought it’d be gone by end of the hacienda Madchester days. Good to see it still thriving, I had my hair cut there once back in the early 90s 😊

Great video, very interesting. The room you describe as once housing a full scale model railway was actually the signalling school. I actually visited and saw it in action in the 1960s. Up until about 7 years ago it was in the National Railway Museum. I assume it is still there but it was seven years ago I last visited York.

Before the station was rebuilt with the arena above there used to be a subway from opposition the dome cafe that gave access to the platforms then numbered 11 to 16.
About half way along this underground passage there was a little wooden door near floor level and behind it was a large well which formed part of the water supply for Boddingtons brewery.
This whole part of the old station was built on a plague pit and burial ground of the workhouse and chapel that was there even before the railway was built.

What a stunning huge building, I never realised about any of it underground. It kept giving. Someone once tried explain to me, When we hear of underground Manchester. It’s us above. Down there was ground level. (In bygone years). I still cannot understand how nowadays built above it, if true what I was told !!! Lol. thoroughly yet again enjoyed it. Keep up the good work.

Have lived in the Far East for nearly 30 years, but have very fond memories of Victoria station, going on holidays to Blackpool by train (normally via the underpass to Platform 13!) as a kid in the 70’s, whe trains still had “3rd Class!” - never for once imagined all that lay beneath and behind what I still remember - thank you so much for arranging this and sharing it with us, which will be especially poignant for us who have know ‘her’ for the last many decades!

I've had many a good pint of Boddingtons bitter in that Staff Club. I think from memory that the wording over that archway might actually read Bottling Store. Back in the 1970s we were installing a fire alarm system in the building and had to find every room and space and there were quite a lot of rooms in the basement used as storage for the refreshment rooms and former first class restaurant.

when i worked there i went down into the club a couple of times (which was unused until a shop called Mace used it for a store room) Also heard about a part of a train is stored in the dungeons of Victoria (under the concourse) which was part of a crash . I remember I worked under Manchester victory station back in 1997, (under where McDonald’s is and under MEN arena) and familiar surroundings, we was erecting steal beams, access was that small, we could only get mini diggers down and small du,pers, and every time a train was passing by, it felt like it was going to come through the walls,

Hi m8 i watch 2 or 3 Urbex channels But i think your content is top draw and the old cheeky Manc commentary adds adds a different dimension to it too, Think you should go back their and do a more longer and in-depth look at the place as it was very interesting as a old skool 88-93 raver i love the old time buildings and architecture, Wonder if anybody stoped off their before going the Twisted Wheel, Hacienda or Thunderdome lol

The original station was built in 1844 and it was single story building and later on made in to two story that is the building @ 2.38 on the right corner of the screen down below, the one your standing on the roof was built 1902.

been watching your stuff for about a week now. im a manc myself and have an accent although a bit mixed up as got the flixton side of it border of sale and urmston etc. love the way you talk and every word is crystal clear. that is all that matters so when the idiots on here give their pathetic opinion about how you sound you know that they are basically thick as shit. you are clearly not. what i love is that you are the son and your dad is kinda like your son in the videos. wondering if you got him into all the urbex stuff or other way round. he dont say much. seems very agile though as im guessing you are aprox 30. id say about 48. brilliant stuff. gonna send links to everyone mate-nite :-)

Haha, your not wrong m8 me and my old man have actually had that conversation lol. And yeah I'm 35 and me Dad mid 50's. Doing these videos isn't something I ever thought Id do but here I am somehow. I always wanted to make films but never thought it would end up being these ya know and with the accent thing, you'll realise I become more confident throughout the videos because at first, I thought it would put people off. How wrong was I? Anyway, thank you for tunning in m8 I really do appreciate it and appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion on the content and for being normal lol tk it easy Alan all the best brother!
