Wow, this is got to be the best robot cleaning machine. It's not cheap but it gives you everything you need while cleaning the room meticulously! I bought the premium model, it's not cheap, but well worth the money for its complexity and 90% hands free automated operation. It is a smart machine. Floor cleaning has never been this easy! They took care of every tricky situation. This one is arguably the world's best. It is head and shoulders above the Rumba!!
Best thing I’ve ever done. It’s brillant. And I have bright white glossy floors. I use to spend every day vacuuming and then mopping. Now I just turn it on and let it do its things. Plus way more gentle up against walls and corners then I ever was 😅
A few questions: 1. Can it go over door thresholds, 1cm high 2. Does it know the difference between hard floor and carpet? (And therefore, does it know not to mop a carpet?) 3. Is there any robot vacuum cleaner out there that can climb and descend stairs?
Fantastic job, went under beds behind furniture and did an awesome job. We have tiles and hard flooring. Pleased as punch. We thought it a bit expensive buy it proved itself worth the extra money.
I bought one of these for £1300 - a complete waste of money. 3 months later it as sat in the corner of my kitchen, completely non-functional. The main brush on it is cheap plastic tat that falls to bits after a few weeks. You can’t replace the brush without spending £30 on a “buddy kit” which contains loads of other stuff which won’t have worn out yet - filters, dust bags etc - the brush supplied in the buddy kit failed after 3 days. I then spent 6 weeks trying to get a response out of their hopeless customer support team. The device then started behaving erratically, stopping 10 minutes into a program and complaining of multiple non-existent issues. The x1 Omni isn’t a bad vacuum - it’s just a brand new item, released with beta software and a support program incapable of actually providing support. Unfortunately these two issues render it useless after a couple of months and when you’ve spent over £1000 on a unit that leaves a pretty poor taste in your mouth. Avoid like the plague
So I’m going to qualify my comment - after 6 weeks ecovacs customer support came good and offered me a replacement device. The problem with the brush is with the rubberised plastic mounts - which are cheap and perish quickly if a lot of hair gets trapped in the brush (I have two long haired dogs) I have found a solution to this which is to replace the perished rubber with a 5mm piece cut from a length of 8mm flexible polythene tube (the sort of thing you might use for brewing or siphoning) - this does the same job of cushioning the brush in the base of the device but is much tougher than the original rubber. It’s a fudge, but it makes the brush last like I’d expect it to. Hopefully ecovacs recognise this and replace the rubber with something more hard wearing. (And fix their parts supply chain issues)
@@ezioauditore5616 I suspect it will last a lot longer in a pet free house. The constant tangling of pet hair round the brush of mine has caused the actual plastic bush that the brush sits in to fatigue and break, requiring a repair with epoxy resin - it’s fair to say this is more a device for people with shiny floors who want to keep them shiny
@@ezioauditore5616 in my experience cat hair is different from dog hair - I have 2 bearded collies - they are big dogs with lots and lots of long hair (like 8inches long) - it’s a challenge for any vacuum cleaner - I would have to clean out my old Miele cleaner’s brush head weekly. Cat hair is “slippery” - it doesn’t tend to clump together as badly - will cat hair kill an ecovacs x1 Omni? I honestly can’t say - my dogs’ hair has definitely caused damage to the device - I’ll be feeding it back to them but I shouldn’t think it’s going to result in a product redesign - I’m a bit of an edge case.
Ours would not park in the charging station until I wiped the plastic landing down with isopropanol alcohol to remove all residual grease or oil. I could not see any on it, but it must have been there from cleaning the floor near the kitchen range. This fixed the unable to get into the charging station due to slipping down the ramp and turning to the side.
You lost me at "A BAG". the ONLY reason they added the bag, rather than a plastic re-usable container, like most modern devices, is so that you are always buying from them
Did you not see the unit has separate water tanks for clean and dirty, AND the base station has its own tanks to refill the vacuum while also draining the waste water? HOW ARE YOU NOT SOLD ON THAT ALONE?
Thank you so much... we have just bought this and I am not good with technology so you helped me understand the vacuum much better. Is there any video you can recommend about programming it? I have difficulty with organizing good mapping etc.
Great machine. Downside : no-go zones, no-mop zones, no-virtual walls :( At least didn't see in on its application demonstrated here. Also, no auto-lift mopping pads for vacuuming on carpets.
I have the model one generation older and I’d up grade to this if the newer one doesn’t get confused by mirrors. I have floor mirrors and my night tables are mirrored on 3 sides. When Deebot approaches, it will clean a bit and then get confused. Probably the reflection from the mirrors gives it mixed signals. Can anyone tell me whether this issue still exists?
the water tank capacity is only 80 ML on Deebot X1 omni where as other models like the t8 model is 240 ml. with such a small water tank will it not need frequent docking ?
I like ecovacs. I have the deebot that I can control with Google and it notifies me when it's cleaning,. finished cleaning and when there's an issue with the device. mines not as fancy as this one but that's why it's under $150
Thank you. Just bought this on Monday. We live in a multi level house. What do you do for different levels? Carry the whole dock up? Or just the vacuum?
I had both the roborock and the ecovac, I by far like this one better far as not getting my carpet wet, the Roborock stayed on my carpet the lift wasn't high enough it still got wet
The video is a year old. I wonder if there are new updates on the product? New versions with improved functionality. Can it be software updated? Can it be hacked?
I've had this for 2 years and it's always been hit and miss. Very frustrating for me is how it sometimes creates a new map without being asked, causing my labeled map to be ignored, and I can't switch no matter what with it keep saying map is in use. I feel like destroying it with a sledgehammwr sometimes. It's just a toy that often malfunctions.
hey mate , what if it had already learnt the map .... but then i wanted to change the base station to another part of the house ? (where the map is also learnt). Do i have to do the entire set up again ? or would it just know the new base station's location automatically? thanks!

Why those manufacturers would force users to register an account to use their vacume cleaners?! This is outrageous! The manufacturers would get very sensitive private information about users, such as size and layout of the house, family routine and whether anybody is at home at certain time or day! Those auto cleaners have Lidar or other sensors. I can accept that a mobile app is required to control the cleaners but they should work perfectly ok without any user identity information or sending any data to some unkown servers.
