    Bro This has got to be one of the most through reviews on any product that I have ever seen. Excellent job sir and thank you.

    Just bought one from this review, absolutely love it and I think it’ll pay for itself very soon. Thankfully got it for $1,050 at Best Buy on sale from $1,550.

      You got it from Best Buy for the $1,550 + Best Buy Gift Card $500 value but you paid Tax for the price of $1,550. I would have gotten from Amazon for only $1050.00 (+ tax of my state)!

    Great review however, from someone who has one of these, take note that the mopping feature is great if you only have one floor to do. Since the robot goes back to its station to clean the mop and then continue its session (I think it does this after 15min) you will not be able to do that on another floor unless you have another station. So basically you have to bring the robot back to the floor where you have the station for it to clean the mops. Then you have to get the robot to exit the station and bring it back to the floor it was on and resume cleaning. Only problem is it wont remember where it was so it will do areas it already did. It’s not like when the there is a low battery and it goes to charge and then resume where it left off. Something to consider.

    The T8's dustbin design was a flaw since the dust extraction placement was on the bottom!! It looks like Ecovas redesign the dustbin extraction door on the side of the dustbin!!

      They knocked this vacuum out of the park. The only thing I find goofy is you can't access, remove, or see the waterbin on the vacuum. I really wish you could!

    Wait wait... Did I understand it correctly, you said it will not go to a room with carpet if you have the mops connected to it? So if I have carpet in the middle of the house and hard wood in the outer rooms and have the mop connected, it will not be able to go and clean the hard wood floors because the center room has carpet???? Oh no, I was about to purchase it but this is a big no go for me

      The Roomba Combo J7+ might be a better fit for you. It can can transition from mopping to vacuuming carpet on its own!

    Any concerns regarding the security? It has cameras and microphone, recording and uploading video with sound into cloud.

    • @DigitalDavid
      @DigitalDavid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same concerns as with any cloud/smart device that can always be listening and recording. I really like the fact that we can utilize the camera of this vacuum to make this a home security device.

      @patison4ik5 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DigitalDavid this is why I replaced all my nest security cameras with Ubiquiti cameras, that are self hosted. I wish the same could’ve been done with this vacuum. One other concern is that the company is not American :(

    • @jpthsd

      you meant that what's happened if your Ecovac's account was compromised and someone might gain the video/audio access onto the robot running around in your house ...that's real risk/threat right there!

    • @patison4ik5
      @patison4ik5 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jpthsd well, not necessarily my account being compromised. If the cloud is compromised and/or a bad actor who works at Ecovacs decides to either get access to those recordings and/or leak them.

      @@DigitalDavid your review is amazing by the way. Maybe also have a look at the T10 OMNI - it seems to be the same as the X1 but does not have a tank on the robot it has to go back to the base station to wet the cleaning rags.

    I bought one of these for £1300 - a complete waste of money. 3 months later it as sat in the corner of my kitchen, completely non-functional. The main brush on it is cheap plastic tat that falls to bits after a few weeks. You can’t replace the brush without spending £30 on a “buddy kit” which contains loads of other stuff which won’t have worn out yet - filters, dust bags etc - the brush supplied in the buddy kit failed after 3 days. I then spent 6 weeks trying to get a response out of their hopeless customer support team. The device then started behaving erratically, stopping 10 minutes into a program and complaining of multiple non-existent issues. The x1 Omni isn’t a bad vacuum - it’s just a brand new item, released with beta software and a support program incapable of actually providing support. Unfortunately these two issues render it useless after a couple of months and when you’ve spent over £1000 on a unit that leaves a pretty poor taste in your mouth. Avoid like the plague

      I'm so sorry to hear about your experience and also the poor customer service experience as well! What vacuum are you going to replace it with?

    • @bobbyboyderecords
      @bobbyboyderecords ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you not send it back?

    • @DominicJonesMrShed
      @DominicJonesMrShed ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ecovacs to their credit eventually sent me a replacement device. The problem is just with the rubber mounts on the end of the main brush - when they fail (in my case due to dog hair getting wrapped around them) the metal end of the brush drills it’s way into the side of the housing - which makes the brush rattle around until the drive spigot no longer sits in its housing causing a terrible rattling, grinding noise - not great. However there’s an easy fix - I replaced the rubber mounts with 5mm cut from the end of a length of 8mm diameter polypropylene tubing - that completely solves the problem with the brush - and seems to have stopped the worst of the weirdness (or a coincidental software update did perhaps). The unit now works like a charm - there are some glitches with it but just the kind of thing I’d expect from an “early adopter” device - the cleaning sink drain gets easily blocked with tiny pieces of grit, requiring you to get down on all fours to scrabble around inside with the brush provided - I covered the drain hole with a fine stainless steel mesh cut from a sieve which has stopped this problem.
