A journalist actually implying a big corpo just might get a bad reputation and lose customers if it continues to deal with her makes me laugh. They had a bit too much power for a while there and they can't see that it's already slipping away. When the Harry Potter books started getting popular some people claimed that she was just taking those "Boy's Own Adventure" books (particularly one about a boy who discovers a talent for cricket) then just added girls and magic. It wasn't just that, though, as the characters age over the years and stories become darker until the eucatastrophe at the end of "Deathly Hallows", for which they accuse her of stealing the idea from J.R.R. Tolkien.

Speaking as a trans woman who actually READ JK's "transphobic" tweets, she's been run up a rail unjustly. She was standing up for women's identity and pushing back against the very same screechy slacktivists all the rest of the sane people hate. Once she was labeled as a transphobe and that lens was bolted on to her public persona, everything she did was passed through that confirmation bias filter from then on. Like I read the first couple of tweets specifically about Transgender stuff and she was asking completely innocent questions. It seemed to me that they didn't like that she had Woman and Autistic people as more important minorities to her than Trans people. Then she started Trolling them and has been doubling down every time they double down

TBH I totally get why she might have revealed Dumbledore's sexuality after the fact rather than in the final book, and I wouldn't be surprised if she debated back and forth a lot about including it, with her fear likely being the reveal monopolising all the discussion about the last book. Whether she originally _conceptualised_ him as gay right from the start I can't say for sure, and it's indeed possible it wasn't her original plan, but if she had the idea at some point while writing the series, nothing directly conflicts with it, and the last book even makes Dumbledore's secrets a plot point, and it also helps explain _why_ he only took on Grindelwald when really pushed to. It also makes sense why he would never go "by the way, did I mention I was gay?" at any point to Harry, especially if he was deeply shamed of what his romantic interests ended up doing; I doubt he's exactly proud of it.
I think she finally revealed it when she did because she was hoping someone would put together the clues and ask her, and IIRC the question was about "did Dumbledore ever find love" and I assume she felt this was the best opportunity to reveal it.
That said, "JK Rowling reveals you're gay now" is an amusing meme.

I keep wondering if we're not going to find out that there's another successful series she wrote...she tried an alternate pen name that publishers leaked and ruined things there, so she might have done it again with more in place to prevent people from it.

@@DH-xw6jpI meant more of her doing another one, while popular, she'd said that the pen name for them was because she didn't want them to get sales for being by the writer of Harry Potter...and the publisher just went ahead and announced it in order to make more sales shortly before it was released.

I honestly think that, at this point, entertainment journalism is so distrusted in this country that it results in the average person doing the reverse of what they are told to do by them. Hogwarts Legacy is one major example, and Stellar Blade is another. Their rage against their opponents is resulting in more people going to them, and they can't seem to understand that.
We know what she said and we agree with her. We’re the silent majority and these weirdos who threaten her life, her children are insane. We love her for not being a coward like the other celebrities who worry more about being cancelled than doing the right thing. She didn't black wash anyone. Race is irrelevant to her and her characters. She created Hermione, and if she wants to allow someone of a different skin colour to play the role, she can. To not allow someone to audition for the role based solely on their skin colour would be racist.

Also, yes, Rowling did describe Hermione as having fair pale skin and then promptly forgot about it when diversity points teared its ugly head.
She probably forgot. There's a lot of words in those 7 books, and she can't be expected to remember every single one. Her point was that it would be racist to exclude an actress from playing the role of Hermione simply because of her skin colour. People always seem to ignore her reasoning for that casting decision, which wasn't about scoring woke points or "blackwashing" one of her characters. If she had openly said "only a white person can play this role" she would have been attacked for that too. It was a no-win situation.
I've never seen so many ungrateful people in one place in my life. For all three of them to throw Rowling under the bus publicly like that is unforgivable in her eyes. They'll never work for here again. It's a shame too because they were such nice kids before. The woke virus and Hollywood poisoned their minds.

In the UK there are often high quality plays on the radio. Often based on books, or original work. Generally dont have a cast of this size though
