Harry Potter has sold 500 million books. Twitter alone, if we assume everyone on the platform is a Harry Potter fan, is made up of about 330 million users. That metric alone is telling. This isn’t to mention movie only fans, fans make multiple purchases across the franchise (book, tickets, merchandise, etc.). It’s REALLY difficult to say, but I think the Harry Potter IP will survive enraging the 12 and a half transitioned people on Twitter who have the free time to care this much.
EDIT: Rowlings is also not anti-trans. She’s against the idea of destroying the definition of “woman.” Shes again and again espoused support for the trans community. The fact Twitter radicals think her position excludes her from supporting them just shows how absolutely polarized their extremism is.

Worth noting that JK is undoubtedly making millions off of the merchandise sales of Harry Potter alone. The amount of toys and clothes I packed over Christmas was absurd. So she doesn’t need the money. Cancelling the show won’t hurt her, it only denies the fans what they presumably want.
Also, note that all the people kicking up a stink are all the people who won’t watch. If you don’t watch it, then why must no one else watch it? What kind of power trip are these people on?

    I'm a female & I'm the age as her.
No one should deny her admiration & respect for how in depth she created the Harry potter novels. The woldbuilding is so through & detailed. It's so complete, it's close to perfect. I read the books with my children, we enjoyed the.movies.
Im amazed with the complexity of the stories. How was she able to think up all of the information that she created. I have always been awe after reading & considering how much work she put into the stories. She's a great,& gifted creative writer. It's obvious that she put everything she was into her work.
The effect her stories had on the children, never before ¬ since last book was release have so many children come together& celebrated how much they enjoyed reading her stories. And sharing their thought & feelings. Children that didn't like to read, couldn't put her book down.she captured something magical & put it into the stories. I'm thankful for the stories that she created & I hope she knows how much she's loved. I know that so.e people are offended because she defined a woman that lost her job for stating on the internet that sexual identity is biological. How is that statement wrong? And she started on line that woman menastrate. How is that wrong? I don't believe that she's transphobic. Some people are easily offended, & if they're also feel entitled , often they overreact & become determined to be vengeful & was to hurt that person,& not stop until they have caused some much damage that they have exposed how cruel & evil they are over different opinions. Which anyone has that right. And no should abuse someone for having different opinions.

Reading the various articles and comments in the podcast above and what really comes through for me is that these are people who are indeed bitter, bitter.... and frustrated. Immensely frustrated.
Here is a woman who has proven to be well beyond their reach, they can howl and rage but she is all but untouchable, and they are beneath her.
In a way it is like watching a bunch of unruly kids hissing and stamping their feet because mummy isn't having any nonsense and isn't indulging their pettiness and demands. And so they fester and broil in their own juices online, reduced to this as Rowling is so powerful and unyielding they are reduced to being nobodies.... desperately wanting to be somebody, but reduced to nothing because they simply have no power at all against this Woman.
I do wish they had the capacity to take three steps back, see what it is they are spouting forth, and have it sink in how bitter and twisted they are.

The books DO stand in stark contrast to Rowlings stated beliefs.... on immigration and diversity. The good guys are a society based on a meritocracy where anyone who doesn't have the talent doesn't get through the barriers. It's basically a paralell society set up to avoid meaningful contact with people not like themselves.
Yes I am a potter fan. I have been for years and I remained one even when Rowling had opinions about immigration I don't like. I enjoyed mocking her hypocritical "pro migrant but not in my mansions" stance but I never once wanted her cancelled. I never stopped watching her movies or whatever. Eventually she had opinions I did agree with and that does make me happy to know that this talented person isn't totally insane but even if she were.... it wouldn't ruin the work itself.

"She Uses Her Money to Hurt the Most Vulnerable People In our Society"
    ----------
Really? The Most Vulnerable....? Let's put aside the charity work Ms Rowling has devoted much time and finance to and instead consider the implications of that statement....
Consider the world around you. The _Real_ world. The streets you walk down and the town you live in, and the people living in it.
In my town homelessness has absolutely exploded in the last several years, with people sleeping rough in the town centre I see sights that I haven't seen since the early 1980s. People with nothing but the clothes on their backs and what they carry, and they need money from whoever is kind enough, compassionate enough, to offer it... they beg for your generosity on the day.
Everyday problems and fears nearly everyone worries about include how secure our jobs are, especially these days. Many many people worry about debt, about the real possibility of eviction from their house leaving their family homeless. Health is another widespread concern, particularly at the moment. There is so much everyday worry out there, problems that touch most people, but any wander online and the main topics are either the BLM movement or... Trans-Rights.
Trans-rights. A marginal issue, affecting such an incredibly _small_ minority in the scheme of things. And yet thanks to social media crusades and trends we have a generation that have become fixated and obsessed with it to the point it often feels like they have been indoctrinated into a Cult, left uttering mantra's representing that cult's one-note mentality. A hive-mind way of thinking and seeing the world, with Transgender being the predominant concern, because there IS no other concern in their cult thinking.
These are people who live online, on Social Media, on their phones, in University or college habitats, typically young people, who have no real life experience as yet and, unlike many adults, have not much to really worry about, not yet. Someday they will. Someday they will worry about a regular Job, income, keeping a roof over their heads, Family illnesses, all of this very immediate and real. And everyday. These are *Real* Problems.
On day they will face them, as their parents did, as their neighbours do.....
And then, with age, perhaps comes wisdom. Perspective.
They will have entered the real world, and understand what is and is not really important.
    I hope.
