we're SOOOO STACKED this year. we have talent beyond belief. i just saw practice clips they had this week.. and omg .. everyone LOOKS AWESOME - from Stewart, Johnson, Ross, Reed, Youssouf, Ball , Mahaney .. even the freshmens Abraham, Nowell, Mcneely.. etc EVER POSITION IS SO STACKED and they were shooting LIGHTS OUT.
We're LEGIT scary. not gonna jinx it but .. omg we're really good this year. MAYBE BETTER THAN LAST YRS
i wont be shocked I'm surprised how little is being talked about JS. He is an elite athlete who can shoot.. watch out
As dominant as UConn was last season they had some shooting slumps. But this team has about 6 sharp shooters along with the best schemes.
Tarris Reed was never supposed to replace Clingan. You literally have no idea what you are talking about here. He was always brought in to be the backup for Samson and that is how it is playing out.
I view Reed as replacing Samson Johnson’s minutes while Samson takes over Clingans minutes
in terms of pure shooting potential this has to be uconn’s best team - imagine a small ball lineup of aidan mahaney, solo ball, jaylin stewart, liam mcneeley, and alex karaban…. can you name a better 5 man shooting lineup? but the true strength of this years team is depth and positional versatility, on the flip you can run the same lineup but switch solo ball out for one of the centers. that’s aidan mahaney (or diarra) and 4 players above 6’7 and elite size. just need the returners to keep developing, have the newcomers adjust to the system and you have yet another championship caliber team

Will depend game to game like last year. It's another deep, talented team. Hurley will have them play unselfish and to the game plan.
Reed is going to be like Sanogo as opposed to Clingan.
UConn will be a very strong team. Guard play will determine if they’re great or very good.

Makes sense for Diarra and Johnson to start since they’re familiar with the offensive schemes. But Reed should get plenty of minutes unless Johnson has lost his propensity to commit silly fouls.
The last 3 seasons I thought UConns second 5 could have been a 8/9 seed. This year the second five could be a 4/5 seed.

I can reasonably fashion a 2nd team: Nowell, Ball, Reed Jr., Stewart, Ross which can be a 5-for-5 swap.
Hurley has said how high he feels Johnson's ceiling is. I think the plan is to prove it while Reed's biggest contribution will be to battle players who are physical with Johnson leading to foul trouble.
Can't rate a team before they hit the floor. UConn will continue to excel at the highest level as long as DH and his coaches stay together. Shoting from kids who have yet to play in large arenas is not possible to tell!! Just sayin!! I am old (71)
