I too feel Caitlin’s character contributes to the fact that she’s beloved by so many people. I don’t think she’s the best player in the W YET. I think there are a few who are better, but here’s the thing, I’m excited to know that she has room for growth and I get to watch that happen in the next few seasons… that’s going to be AWESOME. Here’s why I think she’s not the best, her defense is weak and she knows it. Once she locks that in, she will dominate. But yeah the character really does make a difference.

They have worked hard and it’s grown very slowly, I get their frustration and seeing this girl from Iowa just ignites the whole thing. Here’s the thing, she works JUST as hard as they do, if not more. She shoots 300 baskets per day in the off season!!! But she, and let’s really attribute this to the coaching staff at Iowa, has worked on media training. These stupid shortsighted women need to get with the program and learn how to capitalize on the attention and get some media training too. If you can learn to appreciate her game and not bring negativity you can get yourself a sweet commentator gig!

They do have some right to be a little jealous because NIL deals are very new and the salaries for players are pathetic. All those women deserved more than what they got, they are very talented. But on Caitlin Clark’s end it’s not her fault things opened up right before she was in college. But she is better than most of them, just like they were better than previous generations’ players. Just compare the number of attendance and viewership when the Fever is playing. 17,000 watch the game in the arena when Clark is playing. 8,000 when she is not. I'm pretty sure the Chennedy Carter incident with Angel Reese cheering Carter's flagrant foul on Clark happened after Duncan said players weren't hating on Clark. Caitlin Clark is such a good kid. Having fun with the fans, autographing babies and visiting sick children in the hospital. I just do not understand why she raises the ire of so many commentators. Most of all she is so fun to watch.

You’re exactly right. I’m one of those casual viewers and I started watching because Caitlin plays a kind of basketball I want to watch! Dangerous from anywhere on the court, elite passing, unparalleled court vision, insane handles etc etc. Her shots - perfect form, quick release. The reason I’m still watching is that she makes everyone around her better. A lot better. Especially the defenses! They play harder against her than anyone in the league.

You make a great point. She’s elevating her teammates and there’s no where else they’d rather be, and the competition is on notice. They better bring it, if the Fever takes it all (WNBA championship), the haters will be on suicide watch.

@@MikeKBar13 Watching Kelsey Mitchell I think has been the biggest wow factor. Kelsey is fast and can shoot her a$$ off - but she was there to play and cash out. Score points, defend well and be a baller - but she was an individual. Once the ball hit her hands, it would never leave until she shot or had it stolen whether she was in trouble or not. She was the best scorer for 7 years on a team that never went anywhere, so she would go out every night and get her points and go home. Then “the Kid” shows up and starts serving some sweet dishes - for everyone. And she started to believe in the team, and I think I saw a light bulb go on.

Finally a voice of reason. thank you for saying what I’ve been screaming into the void for weeks. I watched the first two seasons of the WNBA, then I lost interest, until Caitlin Clark and the other rookies made me sit up and pay attention. You’re so right about all of this. I hope some of the media and marketing people in the NBA can give the W some advice and they can fix this for the playoffs and for next season. I’m glad I found your channel.

That's ignorance. Swoopes had some amazing seasons and was a better player than CC. In time, CC will be the better player. Where CC wins is her appeal and ability to put butts in seats. Swoopes was never able to. The closest was Cynthia Cooper and Swoopes hated her as well.

Great commentary, sis! I'm a 74 year old black man that's gotten interested in women's basketball because of the extraordinary play of Catlin! Then I discovered other great players ... yeah, the game's not as fast as the NBA but that's the point. You can see how the plays develop and follow the movement of the game better. The guys' game is stupendous; it develops so fast and way above the rim, sometimes I say, wow, how'd that happen 😂 but you get to follow the fundamentals in ladies' game and appreciate the pace...

When people are given preferential treatment for decades, it has a strange effect. They become perpetually aggrieved and expect that every job, promotion or award belongs to them regardless if they're the most qualified or not. They see themselves a "victims" in any situation. As Thomas Sowell said, "When you're used to preferential treatment, equal treatment feels like discrimination."
